Where did Turaga come from?

Recommended Posts

If the Matoran and the Toa were modeled after the Agori and the Glatorian, who were the Turaga Modeled after, or were they simply the GB creation? Is it possible that the GB didn't create the Turaga and that they are simply a byproduct of Toa loosing all of their energy?

The first Turaga were created by the Great Beings. It's unknown what exactly they were based on, though it's most likely to be Agori elders. There's been speculation that they were based on the Great Beings themselves, though, so your mileage may vary.

Time is beyond relative here.

There's no reason not to put lasers in the palms of planet-sized robots. In fact, if I had my own planet-sized robot, palm lasers would be one of my first upgrades.

I agree. We have to keep in mind that Matoran are only 15% biological, so they will not tend to 'show their age', but an elderly Agori (85% bio... and naturally 100%) probably will. Of course, they have to live an incredibly long time for that to come into play, but they would have been known. Possibly more so in the more ancient times when the GBs first "came".

Negatory, because Toa who lose energy and haven't completed their destiny will still remain Toa. It's a Great Being design...after all, they designed the Toa to turn into Turaga when this happened, not just shut down.

Agreed on the Agori elders thing...but even computers/mechanical parts can wear out. Granted, though, probably would take longer and would not result in a diminishment in form, whereas deteriorating organics do. Probably more symbolic, and also the practical leader aspect.

If the Turaga of Mata Nui are anything to go by, maybe the GBs built the Bohrok Va first, and then based the first Turaga off them.

To get a Turaga, you have to have a Toa who gives up his/her "Toa-power"... and then becomes a Turaga. The first Turaga were probably made beforehand as Turaga...

To confirm this, the first Turaga was just a Turaga. Then the GBs came up with the idea that Toa will become Turaga after they fulfilled their destiny and given up their Toa power.
