This is a work in progress so please don't come and

torture me because I suck at spriting.

(ACTUALLY I DON'T)

Constructive criticism is always welcome,

ideas too! I plan to release full version (20.0, maybe)

in the not-so-near-future.

I spend lots of time on this and I hope to release next update soon.

Accurate might be a closer description than realistic, but even so, some noteworthy flaws are the leg placement and maybe how tall they are. I'd also suggest adding more shades, because there aren't any 1-shade kits I'm aware of that ever got far. I can see a lot of potential in what you have though, keep at it!

It's good to see a new kit around. I definitely agree on the shading. At least 2 or preferably 3 shades will do. I find the less cartoonish look refreshing. Your kit certainly has potential, and I'd love to see how it grows

I might be able to help with this, but I noticed some strange things with your masks and heads. First of all, the top half of the head is an even number of pixels wide, meaning the two between the eyes are both middle points, and the bottom half is an odd number of pixels wide, meaning the center of the mouth is middle. That makes it difficult to sprite with the head. Also, the eyes on the masks don't line up with the head, and the head doesn't fit into the mask. I would recommend changing it a bit to fix that.

 

EDIT: Here's my try at trying to improve it a bit:

Few things to keep in mind that might help:

1. The secondary color is for both detail and shading. Try not to use it too much though.

2. These are actual pieces that need to fit into each other.

3. Keep a constant center line. Moving it forward and backward for jutting parts is okay, but try and keep it about the same.

4. Simplicity is key with kits. No one wants to use a kit that takes an hour to recolor, although yours looks pretty good. I think I made it more complicated in my edit.

5. Curves look nice. It might help to put in at least a few curves where they should be in certain places.

Well, that really all depends on what you use. If you used programs like GIMP then that wouldn't be such a problem.
