OOC: Aaaand I'm going to stop you right there.

1. Absorbing and redirecting attacks is part of a very specific skill set, one that he does not have.

2. For something to have a function beyond baseline normal, you have to say it in the profile. Nothing in your character's profile actually says that he can redirect Force Lightning, and it is too late to edit it now.

3. You specifically said that it was the broken gauntlet that you were pointing towards it, and if Force lightning is anything like regular lightning, then you just pointed a metal-covered part of your body towards, well, lightning. Bzzap.

4. Force Lightning has a tendency to take a lot out of its victims. Bit like a lightning strike, really.

5. You may not have noticed this, but the Acklay's other claw was behind him. He flies backwards, he smacks into that and starts having interesting times.

6. Acklays are not slow. Even were everything above not the case, what you did in your previous post assumes it standing still while he regroups and then retreats.

So, here's what really happened, to the tune of Keelhauled by Alestorm.

NPC: The lightning strike propelled the Sith apprentice backwards, slamming him directly into the Acklay's left front claw, adding further damage to the brittle cortosis plates covering his body, and, at the speeds both combatants were moving, cracking a few ribs.

Not much more than a second later, the right claw hit home, sending shards of cortosis flying as it punched into and through the clone's torso, pinning him to the ground as the dominant predator stood over the foolish little thing that had come into its territory, and bellowed in triumph to the sky, answered, it seemed, by the crack of thunder as a tree, somewhere in the jungle, was felled by the storm.

In the shade of the jungle of Lehon, the blue-white glare of lightning flickering in the few gaps left by the trees, and water and blood turning the ground to mud, the lord of all he surveyed roared his triumph to the night, and began the feast.

Gentlemen, fooling you once with this trick was an honor. Twice was a privilege. It's been a pleasure.

I am most definitely a mad man with a blog.

"Alright."

The Shi'ido gave the blaster a quick look-over, before turning her eyes to the remotes. Alright, if the Falleen wanted to be unorthodox, she could be unorthodox.

Ze'Taki brought the gun up to bear, sidestepping a shot from a remote as she aimed towards another. Hoping for the best, she fired. The blaster nearly threw itself out of her hands, but she kept a grip on it and took a moment to watch the bolt fly.

It went way off to the right, nearly hitting a different remote, which responded with a bolt of its own.

She dodged that one as well, quickly surveying the room to see where each remote was, and then taking aim once more. This time, however, she focused and used the Force to steady her hand and improve her eyesight, firing as she let out a breath to keep the rhythm of her body continuous and to negate the kick.

This blast hit the remote square on, and it spiraled to the ground, down for the count.

Relaxing for a spilt second, the Shi'ido became aware of a stinging pain in her leg. One of 'em must've gotten her.

Curses.

This time, more alert of her surroundings, the Shi'ido aimed and fired off three more shots in this manner, one hitting a remote directly and the other two each whacking the same remote on either side. Both remotes fell to the ground, taken out.

Now, however, came a problem. The last two remotes, perhaps sensing their comrades' demise,  were now moving at a faster pace. Ze'Taki could already tell that her aim wasn't good enough to hit those, at least not without wasting quite a few shots.

Well, there's always another way..

She sprints toward one of the remaining remotes, dodging the blasts the machine threw at her. Upon getting as close horizontally as possible, she sprung upwards and grabbed the remote with a hand, bringing the blaster up to point-blank with the other.

One shot, and it fell. The blaster almost made it out of her hand then, but she used the other to keep it in, letting go of the machine as it, and she, fell.

'Where is that last remote?!'

Landing in a roll, Ze'Taki quickly scanned the room, finding the last of the drones in an instant. Relying on instinct, she brought the blaster to bear and fired.

The weapon finally got the better of her, kicking up and out of her hand. She managed to grab it before it hit the ground, however.

The remote, though, had no saving hand. It just fell to the ground. Clunk.

Finally truly relaxing, the youngling turned to the Falleen Knight once more.

IC(Djashell, Coruscant): "A few. And probably more than I'd like," Djashell admitted, "The overall profit compared to the risk isn't worth it. Still, if I wanted risk free I wouldn't be in my line of work."

I am Ultron Six, a cybernetic intelligence created by Doctor Henry Pym. My imperative is to bring peace and order to this world. I am about to fulfil that imperative; for the extinction of humanity…begins now.

Soon the earth will no longer be habitable for any biological organism: Man, woman, child, plant, animal, fungus or bacterium. All life will cease to exist. This is not a threat, there is nothing you can do to stop it. The process has already begun. I receive no pleasure in this, it is simply the only solution. There must be peace and order, the end of life on earth will ensure that. Goodbye.

IC (Carawyn Jade): Carawyn felt frustration building in his core as the criminals swept off. He was about to communicate with Kam, telling the other Padawan to continue the pursuit and maintain a visual of the fleeing thieves. However, when the Padawan looked up, there was no red starfighter in the sky.The Zeltron glanced at San Vroon, who seemed completely engrossed with eliminating the last of the criminals in the speeder. He could only hope that the Kel Dor hadn't completely eviscerated the group of lowlifes. The Coruscant Guard would likely want to question any survivors. The young man looked out at the streams of traffic. There would be no chance of catching them in the rush. And it would be foolhardy to try and tackle two fighters with only a pair of speeders.

A pair of LAATs hovered down, clone troopers wearing the red armor of the Coruscant Guard disembarking andassessing the chaotic crime scene."Vroon, once you've wrapped up with the Weequay, we're heading back to the Temple. This mission has been an utter failure." The Zeltron frowned and twisted the handles of the Flitknot, beginning the return flight to the Jedi Temple. Master Chask would not be happy. Not when a full group of Jedi was sent out to apprehend the thieves. Speaking of... The Zeltron frowned and touched his commlink. "Nentir, Elara, come in. Are you alright? You took some pretty nasty-looking hits from those fighters. The Coruscant Guard are taking over the investigation, and we'll be returning to the Temple. The kriffers got away."

OOC: Now that the acklay/clone interaction is done. Timeskip for the Sith on Lehon.

IC (Anshar Rune):

The singing of birds woke Anshar from his relatively light slumber. The sun was peeking through the dense tangle of underbrush he, Vel, and Jaceren had taken shelter in over the night. Shelter was a generous word, thought the apprentice, as he sprang to a half-crouched position from his resting place against a thick tree trunk. Mist rose lazily from the brush."Pity that the leaves didn't block out the rain in the slightest." Rune shivered slightly, his clothing practically drenched. He spoke up in a harsh whisper to the other apprentices. "Jace, Aloe Vera, you two awake?"

IC (Jedi on Lehon): Master Limaech scowled as he and the other apprentices tramped from the campsite the clones had erected in the ruins of the Rakatan temple. They had just brought out the resin to coat the artifact of the Dark Side, when the floodgates of heaven had opened up, threatening to flood most of their excavation site.It was an unfortunate setback. So, now the Jedi party would have to trudge through the jungles once again, cutting their way through foliage and picking their way through fallen trees, twisted branches and curtains of vines. Oh, and bugs. Many, many bugs. The Barabel blinked and licked his lips. It was enough of a setback to make him curse. At the very least, the clones would remain at the camp, protecting their supplies.

The taxi was quickly descending lower into the city. "I just find it a bit ridiculous that it goes down on Coruscant. I mean, I've seen it before, but never this bad. The Republic tries to make their capital city look so... perfect. On the outside, of course. Even I knew it was bad below. I wonder how some others feel, when they hear about this stuff. Stuff they never even considered."

OOC: EDIT:

Sith Lord players - Feel free to discretely pick off one or two of Jedi NPCs on Lehon as they're cutting through the undergrowth back to their excavation site. :3

OOC: Don’t mind if I do…

IC: Salvador Oro | Lehon | Assaulting Jedi Party

The Jedi were moving too closely together. Maybe not for everyone, but for Salvador – who had left his speeder, and was now moving along on foot was well – it was a lot more risky than he wanted to deal with. He had a high enough count – there were too many for them to deal with in a full frontal assault. They would need to thin numbers, and learn more about their adversaries, before this would be a worthy gamble to take.

Salvador was more than aware of the psychic nature some might possess. So his thoughts turned to other things. The game of Pazaak, there was one. An old game dating back to the times of the Old Republic, and now mostly in disuse. But it was easy to memorize, and a good thing to concentrate on if one wished to close their mind off from the untrained.

The Twi’lek Jedi apprentice strutted far too confidently through the fens of Lehon. No apprentice should move with such posture in a place this infused with the dark side, if they knew what was good for them. This one would make an enjoyable target. The Jedi held the high sidedeck – +6, +3, +3, Double. Salvador’s, however, was far more exciting.

Turn one, the Jedi. The card is a 4. The Jedi places down a 3, raising it to 7. He waits for the next turn, and for the next move. He sliced through the thick forests, using his limited Force abilities to assist him in the process of moving across the landscape.

Turn two, Salvador. He stalked through the jungles, watching carefully every move made by the arrogant Jedi as they strayed further from the edges. He began to work at his own advantage, drawing a 5. Raising it by a meager 2, to a score of 7. He began to work the power of Force Confusion upon the Jedi, who was beginning to stray further away from the group as his mind was clouded and taken away from a clear thought process.

The Jedi’s turn. The card played down is a meager 1, raising the number to 8. But the Jedi has force of will; he pushes back, throwing down the other 3. The number is now 11 on the field. He continues moving further away, though, as his mind begins to slip up and slip away. He doesn’t even notice the Sith hidden in the corner of his eye; obstructed by the amulet, the fens, and the Force.

Salvador’s turn. The card drawn is a 5, placed down on the field to give him a 12. He throws down a -3, lowering his score down to 9 once more; remaining quiet, hidden in the back. His confusion continues working at his opponent, who does not understand the tactic he is trying to work. But Salvador has other plans…

The Jedi places down the next card; this time, a 3. Perfect! With that in place, a 14 is reached; add the +6, and he has a score of 20. The perfect score has been reached. He continues to grow more and more confused, but is now finally starting to notice it. What game is being played here?

Salvador places down a 7 on the table, raising his score to 16. He has been toying with the apprentice for long enough, it would seem. He places a special card – the 3&6 Flip Card, the prize of his deck. Suddenly, the Jedi has been changed drastically in score. No longer does he have a 20; now, his score is a meager -10! Salvador, in turn, now has a score of 19. He begins the next stage in his plan – Force Fear. The forest itself seems to come alive as Salvador specifically brings fear into the mind of the Jedi he is rapidly approaching. Fear of the jungles, and what might be there.

He moves for his lightsaber. Card drawn, 10. Immediately, the Jedi plays his double card; his score has gone back up to 10 again. Maybe he still holds a chance. He has the saber, after all. What beast of the jungles could harm him when he has that?

Salvador draws yet another card. It would seem that the Force is with him – the card he draws next is the 2, throwing him just over the edge, with 21. The Jedi attempts to overcome the power of the dark side which is overcoming him. Yet Salvador has one last resource in his hand – the +/-1 card, which he plays on the table. The score is lowered to 20, and he stands.

The Twi’lek draws another card. The 17. Fear runs through his heart, but he still has a chance. There are still some scenarios that favor him, for at least the time. Salvador stands, watching. The fear courses through the Twi’lek. The final card – a 9. The final high card. The Twi’lek Jedi, so confident; so sure of himself. And in the end, these high draws would be his downfall. He busts.

The game goes to Salvador.

Suddenly, from behind the confused and scared Jedi, a hand comes down, pulling him back with the strength of a much taller and more experience Sith Lord. The Jedi’s lightsaber falls from his hand and into the swamp, disappearing into the mucky water. Salvador makes use of what powers of telekinesis to hold the Jedi to the ground; his hand covered the Jedi’s mouth, preventing him from crying out.

As he continued to fill the Jedi with fear and confusion, Salvador began to use his power of Drain Knowledge. The Jedi would have no hope of resisting the Sith Lord at this point, his mind already worn away as it was. Salvador rummaged through the Jedi’s mind in the most painful and distracting way possible, attempting to keep him occupied and unable to resist.

He began to extract any knowledge he could about the Jedi, the other apprentices, their numbers, any reinforcements or allies they had, and about their Master. All of it was his to command.

OOC: So @ Madara, what could I have learned from that little exchange?

IC: Elara (Solar Sailor, Coruscant)

Elara coughed a bit, wafting some smoke away from her face before disengaging the safety harness and gingerly standing up. Aside from a general soreness all over her body and some scorching on her robes from sparks, she didn't see any injuries on her person that required immediate attention. Nonetheless, she resolved to pay a visit to the medical bay when she had a chance. One couldn't be too careful about these things.

A voice coming over her comm. link shook her from her thoughts and she recognized it as Carawyn Jade. "Elara here," she replied, "I'm a little shaken up, but it's nothing serious." Looking around, she added, "We could also use a lift back, if you don't mind."

----------------

IC: Zane (Lehon)

While Salvador was off getting down and dirty, Zane was content to sit back at a safe distance and watch. Although his probe droid lacked the standard stealth armor of most Dark Eyes, the thick foliage and its small size would keep it from being seen for the most part. He watched with a small grimace as Salvador dragged a Twi'lek into the darkness on the monitor perched on his lap, the beings illuminated by his droid's infra-red camera. Earlier observations had revealed that there were too many Jedi to take on at once and if any of them noticed that the Twi'lek was missing, they would be sure to stop and look for him. In the position that he was in now, Salvador risked being discovered, amulet or not.

For now, he would keep an eye on his fellow Sith Lord's surroundings to ensure that if he were to have company, Zane could provide him with ample warning beforehand.

IC (Falleen Jed): The Falleen Knight clapped several times and took the gun from Ze'Taki's hand. "Very well done. For someone who's never used a blaster before."The Jedi Knight slid the heavy blaster pistol into a concealed holster in his robes. He placed his palms against each other, as if in contemplation. "I received my first apprentice from the Council about ten years ago. He was good. Strong. Became a valuable member of the order. The Council recently approached me about a youngling that needed a master.""I agreed to test the initiate." The Falleen smiled at the Shi'ido. "And you've passed with flying colours. Would you like to be my apprentice?"OOC: New profile will be up soon.

IC(Djashell, Coruscant): "Roll their eyes and go 'oh no, not here as well'?" Djashell suggested, "I don't think anyone really buys the propaganda about Coruscant."

As the taxi dropped them off, she drew her pistol, swiftly checking it to ensure it was in good working order before holstering it again.

"Remember, we're just on recon. If it looks like we're getting drawn into a fight with this gang, just get out of there. Rendez-vous point is a pub around here called the Rusty Ratchet. Should still be standing."

Sith Lord players - Feel free to discretely pick off one or two of Jedi NPCs on Lehon as they're cutting through the undergrowth back to their excavation site. :3

OOC: I'll take a piece of that

IC(Gurrox, Lehon): While Salvador hit the flanks and Zane watched from the air, Gurrox was following his hunters instinct and going after a straggler. A lone Jedi, a male Togruta, was flagging behind the rest of the party. Gurrox suspected it was a rearguard action, the Jedi was keeping an eye out for any hostile wildlife that might want to ambush the rest of the party. His montrals would pick up anything moving through the underbrush and alert him to threats. Which was why Gurrox was lurking, unmoving in a tree. Still amongst the tangle of branches he should be undetected by the Togruta's crude echolocation, and the latent dark side energies of the planet, with a little help from the amulet Recusita had given him, masked him from any Force related detection.

He patiently waited until the Togruta was underneath him before dropping down and unsheathing his lightsaber in one movement. He was spotted then, but with his downward momentum and greater size the Jedi had no real choice but to move aside. Any parry would be broken by sheer brute force. As the Togruta rolled, Gurrox took the offensive, trying to keep his opponent off balance. His descent had dislodged a couple of tree branches, it was a simple matter to reach out with the Force and throw them like spears as he took a defensive stance. As he'd expected the Jedi swatted them out the air with his lightsaber, flashes of green slicing the branches into matchsticks. He wouldn't have been much of a Jedi if a few twigs had been able to bring him down. It would have been convenient if it had worked, but the real goal had been to get a taste of the Jedi's style. He'd chosen his lightsaber to break the branches, not his talents with the Force, for example, suggest a leaning towards the more physical. And the specific movements he'd used were part of Niman training, if Gurrox was any judge. So, someone who thought a lighsaber was the perfect solution to every problem and wanted training that would allow him to do precisely that, the versatile leanings of Niman allowing him to mould it to any situation.

The duel began, and at the start Gurrox's specialisation towards defensive Soresu gave him the upper hand. The Togruta didn't have enough skill at offensive combat to overpower the burly Sith Lord. But Gurrox didn't want to fight to get dragged out, partly because it would draw attention from the other Jedi, partly because there was a chance someone skilled with a blade like this might find a chink in his defence if given long enough. So, time to get a bit unorthodox.

Reaching for the Force again, he pushed he Jedi back. The Togruta's lack of or disdain for his own Force talents meant there was little resistance and he was sent stumbling back. At the point Gurrox struck, but not at the Jedi. He lashed out at a cluster of vines, still sopping wet from the night's rainfall. When the heat of his blade met that water, it turned into a cloud of boiling steam, which Gurrox pushed at his opponent. The Togruta yelped as the cloud engulfed him, and was put off enough by the pain that Gurrox could move in for a proper assault, using a single sweep to take off the Jedi's sword arm. He grabbed the Togruta by one of his lekku, to cause maximum discomfort and simultaneously kicked away the dropped lightsaber while sheathing his own. He planted his now free hand on the Jedi's chest and tapped into his healing abilities, focusing them on the heart.

Normally the power to heal an individual using the Force drew energy from the person using the healing abilities, channeling it into the affected patient to fix up their ails. Gurrox wasn't doing that. He was holding back his own energies, instead using the Force to direct the Jedi's cells into doing their own work. They were repairing damage to skin and minor tears to muscles, but killing themselves to do it. But it didn't stop there. Gurrox's healing powers causing other cells to divide and splinter to replace the ones lost, only for those cells to use themselves up fixing the most minor of problems. And a body couldn't keep doing that forever. Biological senescence kicked in. Cells divided into cells that ween't quite as good as the old ones. Everything around the Jedi's chest where Gurrox was focusing his power was ageing. By the time he stopped the Jedi was gasping, his heart and lungs suddenly burdened with fifty years of age in a matter of moments.

"Now," Said Gurrox, placing his healing hand, still glowing a little from his recent use, over the Togruta's head in a threatening fashion, "Whats say we have a little chat about what a certain Barabel is doing here?"

IC (Twi'lek Padawan): The Twi'lek struggled against Oro's grip, grasping wildly and trying to remove the human's scream-muffling grip over his mouth. He kicked and thrashed, trying vainly to knock the Sith Lord off of him, natural fear and confusion flooding into his mind, as the man sifted through his memories.   The memories were scattered, and would not have been of much use to most. The eight Jedi were seated around a fire in the ruins of the Rakatan temple; the sight of the Padawan's own reflection in a puddle of water, green skin and teeth filed down to points; the Padawan and a Miraluka crept from their sleeping bags, and moved from a place of mouldering stone, to a metal hall, dusty and carpeted with thick moss, passing mossy metal frames of fairs and what looked like the interior of a ship's laser cannon turret; then they were carrying a large tub of resin, making their way through vines and under trees- The flood of memories from the Twi'lek's head to Oro's was broken by a searing pain in the Sith Lord's hand. In the Twi'lek's struggle, he had managed to wiggle his neck enough to get purchase on the human's hand. He opened his mouth a little wider and bit down hard, filed teeth trying to severe the ring and middle fingers from Salvador's hand. If Salvador's hold loosened with the pain, the Padawan angled his wrist, aiming to unleash a close-range, desperation-fueled Force Push at the Sith Lord that would hopefully throw him off.

IC (Togruta Padawan): The Togruta coughed, feeling a tightness crawling in his chest, as the massive Cathar loomed over him. HIs eyes felt like they had been steamed, and his dismembered arm lay limply on the ground. He looked up, pain written on his face. He grinned weakly, canines visible. "You're Sith, aren't you?" The young Togruta's voice was a soft wheeze. "I'll be d*****. He was right. He knew you'd be coming for it."

IC: Zane (Lehon)

When Zane saw the Twi'lek bite two of Salvador's fingers off, he sighed and moved the probe away, figuring that the Jedi was as good as dead at this point. Searching for Gurrox's signature, he followed it until the Kathar's large frame appeared on his monitor. It seemed that he too had pinned a Jedi, a Togruta from what he could tell. Looking closely, Zane noticed that their lips were moving, possibly talking to each other. Now curious, he focused the droid's microphone towards them, hoping to catch what they were saying.

NPC(Andros): Every few seconds, a chunk of foliage would go flying. Andros was fairly happy he'd taken the lead of the group, judging by the plant-hats a few of the padawans were now wearing as he used the Force to rip out another chunk of the obstacles in their path.

"I do not think that is proper."

The complaint, much like ninety percent of complaints in the galaxy, came from Master Limaech, a notoriously irritating - or maybe irritable, it was hard to tell the difference - Barabel, who could talk a rancor's leg off and then use the severed limb to beat it to death for littering. Apparently, he didn't think that ripping plants up by the roots was the right thing for a Jedi to do, being, as it turned out, the galaxy's biggest fan of trudging through thorns, vines and other things that were full of spiders. Having had his fill of other such complaints in the last five minutes - things like 'stop aiming them at my eyes' or 'I think you're making too much noise' or, his favourite, 'We are not here for your amusement, stop that' - the Duros Jedi grabbed a random plant from the most recent pile, and whirled to face Master Limaech, holding it as though presenting it for the Master's inspection.

"Okay, this plant? This one right here, with the innocent-looking leaves, and the dangly red berries? It has seen things, you know. Things you would not and should not believe. And this being the planet it is, it enjoyed them. Made a scrapbook of them, even. Got a whole section for rancors. So, if you think about it, I'm really doing the galaxy a favor here."

Barabels didn't have eyebrows, but Limaech went ahead and raised his anyway, but at least he was confused enough to stop complaining as another bundle sailed overhead, festooning a Miraluka padawan with vegetation and maybe spiders, leading to an amusing few seconds of spluttering before the annoyed muttering set in.

"Probably poisonous anyway. Stupid plants."

Ci Vikto sighed. He really should have known better than to expect an easy drink. This whole part of the undercity was turning into a bloody Gundark nest. He sighed and took a long swig of his drink, hoping, for a moment, that when he looked up the rather menacing figure before him would be gone. No such luck. He made a mental note to increase his alcohol intake. He’d need it to deal with this. “Well....how can I help?” His voice was calm and level, but the undertone of ‘please don’t take my arms’ remained.

"Shall this great kingdom, that has survived, whole and entire, the Danish depredations, the Scottish inroads, and the Norman conquest; that has stood the threatened invasion of the Spanish Armada, now fall prostrate before the House of Bourbon? Surely, my Lords, this nation is no longer what it was! Shall a people, that seventeen years ago was the terror of the world, now stoop so low as to tell its ancient inveterate enemy, take all we have, only give us peace? It is impossible! ...My Lords, any state is better than despair. Let us at least make one effort; and if we must fall, let us fall like men!"

IC(Gurrox, Lehon): "We came for something, that is truth," Gurrox admitted, "But that something was a bunch of poorly protected padawans. What your Master is digging up remains a mystery. If you could kindly explain I will ensure you leave this planet alive."

It was true enough. He held no personal grudge against the Jedi and with that recently inflicted heart condition he was unlikely to end up being some vengeful threat on the battlefield

IC(Syaa, Coruscant): "Well I'm sort of looking for someone, see?" Syaa said, her voice slightly higher and squeakier than normal, an affectation she thought made her sound more innocent, "My furry friend here is just escorting me about, Coruscant can be so dangerous for a woman on her own. And I've been walking all over Coruscant, my legs are sooo tired..." She stretched those very legs out while twisting on the stool. A little eye candy never hurt, "So if you're happy to help perhaps you could tell us where we might go if we were looking for a Chiss?"

Goodbye.

“One of the joyhouses might have one I suppose. Not really my scene.” He wondered, for a moment, why she was asking him. The more exotic houses were always well-advertised, even down here. He took another swig of his drink, the fluid burned on the way down, but it burned good. “Unless, of course, I misunderstood you.”

IC (Togruta Padawan): "So you have no clue what this is about? We found a stash of a few cortosis-weave swords and a Rakatan Star Map while digging, and took them back to our camp. We were going back to the excavation site to do more digging, but that's what Master Yttro sent us here for. Master Limaech says that the map might unlock some great secret of the Infinite Empire, and would no doubt attract the attention of you treacherous dogs." The Togruta Padawan wheezed once again. "Or should I say cats?"

IC(Syaa, Coruscant): "That sounds like her," Syaa agreed, cheerfully, "Might you know where she'd be going so I don't have to go chasing off over all of Coruscant? I'd be ever so grateful!"

IC(Gurrox, Lehon): "Either works. We're very inclusive," Gurrox muttered. The finds didn't sound like much, but it could have been a cover to prevent the padawans getting too curious. Or maybe the masters were just really into maps...Either way he summoned his speeder. He had said he'd leave the apprentice alive, so he'd leave him alive. They could restrain him aboard the interceptor then drop him off on some backwater planet where he couldn't cause trouble

IC: Zane (Lehon)

When he saw that Gurrox was done questioning the Jedi, Zane sat back in his speeder and thought about what he had heard. He couldn't remember ever reading about the Rakata using cortosis and as far as he knew, Darth Revan and Darth Malak had never discovered a Star Map on Lehon itself. "Besides," he thought to himself, "The Rakata mostly used the Star Maps to point out where the Star Forge was located. They'd hardly need one here when the thing was right above their heads." He shook his head. The Jedi's story just didn't add up and he hoped that Gurrox wasn't actually buying it.

OOC: Who says it was their only Star Map? The cortosis weapons could also have come from crashed Hammerhead ships. :3 It wouldn't be totally inconceivable for Gurrox to believe the story. That being said, Zane is the history expert. And the Togruta is lying through his canines.

IC (Togruta Padawan): As the Cathar Sith's attention was shifted away for a moment to summon his speeder, the Togruta clutched his chest, collapsing on top of his severed arm. "What did you do to my heart, Sith?"

"hurt. definitely requiring A a lift, and B a visit to the medical center" he said, as he tried to move his arm upwards to pull himself up. a piece of the ship had fallen onto his arm, and he was unable to move it. lifting it off the ground a few inches, he pulled his arm out. his ankle was on fire, and it was testing his trying to keep calm. "my ship is in need of repairs" he said, off the com. it was in bad shape. nothing repairs wouldn't fix, but it would take a while.

IC:

"Does anyone want to tell me why I just came out of hyperspace in time to see a Republic cruiser get gutted like the fish that Dominik cooked last week?"

Just as the Knife's Edge made the jump to hyperspace, another ship was dropping out of it. At roughly twice the length of the aforementioned Gozanti ship, it was the largest intact vessel for several kilometers, easily out-sizing the squadron of fighters that had returned to regroup with the Lance before its untimely destruction. Its hull was painted a deep red with white accents, remnants of its time as a Jedi's personal vessel, but it was battered and scratched in many places, evidence of her captain's rather distinct lack of consistent funds.

Standing on her bridge, staring at the Lance incredulously, was a man in fairly plain garb. His positioning, right behind the main console, indicated his role as the ship's captain. He glanced around the bridge ad if expecting an answer, before sighing when he didn't get one. "Great. Guess folks can now stroll up to Coruscant and mess up a shiny Republic ship, and get away scot-free these days. Well, I suppose that's good and bad news."

"Alright, first thing's first. Someone keep an eye on those fighters, make sure they don't decide they want to pick a fight. And I want a scan on that cruiser, see if there's anyone still alive over there."

"Captain," a voice came over the comm, mildly irritated. "In the future could we avoid splashing into realspace while someone else is popping out within spitting distance of us? The engines really don't like that, and neither do I. At least give me some sort of warning before hand." There was a pause of static. "Taking the hyperdrive offline, allotting some of the power to the scanner array. Tell me whatcha get."

"In short, my English Lit friend, living in a mental world of absolute rights and wrongs, may be imagining that because all theories are wrong, the earth may be thought spherical now, but cubical next century, and a hollow icosahedron the next, and a doughnut shape the one after." -Isaac Asimov, responding to a letter he had received saying that scientific certainty was false, The Relativity of Wrong

"It'll be more of a 'plan as you go' kind of trip. I'll be heading for a Zann Consortium meeting point on Bespin; I need to find information, information that I won't find in the archives. You'll understand if I don't disclose the exact nature of that information."

IC-Jaron:

"Of course, of course," Jaron said, nodding. That said, he turned, his eyes slightly clouded, thinking; after a moment a holocron popped into his hand - this one showing signs of wear all along the casing, though the three crystals within were fine; one, the larger, was like smoky quartz, though this one seemed alive; fitting into that and completing the inner, crystalline pyramid at the apex was a deep red crystal, multifaceted, carved as exquisitely as would be a diamond or a ruby, and both crystals were saturated with the force.

And the last, a black diamond, resided at the centre of the larger one, it's tip just barely touching the ruby coloured crystal; in this resided the holocron's power, its knowledge, its gatekeeper.

"Before you go, however, I would like to present you with a gift. When earlier you mentioned your study of the Infinite Empire, of the histories, I was reminded of this little jewel...This is the Holocron of Darth Occlus, one of, if not the most comprehensive histories to be found in the Sith archives, if not any archive." He smiled, handing the holocron to L'uo.

"In order to activate it, you need to focus the Force through the red crystal, into the larger one; that will saturate the centre crystal, activating it for use. As well, I've learned that the apex crystal functions rather well as a lightsaber crystal; if you aren't afraid of it being broken, that might be a good way to make sure you always know where it is." He smiled again, shaking his head.

"Nowhere near as powerful as one of the synthetic crystals that seems so popular these days, however. Anyways, I was at first going to add it to the library, but after speaking with you, I figured that it would be better to give it to you - both so that you could learn from it, and add to it."

OOC: Before anybody asks, the holocron was approved as part of a little project of mine.

IC (Ci Vikto)

Ci shrugged. “I can’t help you there. Not a broker I’m afraid. You wanna know where someone is, you might as well try talkin to Corlini the Hutt. He’s wired into this part of the city. Anyone knows, it’ll be him.” Ci downed the last of his drink and looked at the two odd companions before him. “He ain’t cheap though. Advanced warning.”

IC (Vel Orral)

“I’m awake. I’m awake.” Vel, having set up a makeshift ‘roof’ for himself using his cloak, was much drier than his companions. “Cloaks. Useful things aren’t they?” The Zelosian grinned, though due to his mask, the effect was lost. The young Sith, having slung his soaked cloak over his shoulder stretched out his arms and looked himself over, making sure no unwelcome parasites had attached themselves to him in the night. Granted, as a plant, they likely wouldn't get much nourishment from him in the first place.

-William Pitt the Elder, before suffering a fatal stroke on the floor of the House of Lords.

IC(Gurrox, Lehon): "My perverse Sith sorcery," the Sith said with a grin, opening up a secure channel on his speeder with the other bikes of the Lords, "This is Gurrox reporting in. Have prisoner. He has some tale about historical artefacts I'd like verified."

Having spent his training on biology and anatomy, required to be an efficient healer, Gurrox was a little...lax on history. The Togruta could be telling the truth, but his manner wasn't that of someone quaking in fear, and Gurrox's patient nature meant he was more inclined to get confirmation rather than announce a possibly untrue plot to the others.

IC(Djashell, Coruscant): "Alright, follow my lead," Djashell said, moving in on the location the frequency had led them to

OOC: Might need a bit of staff intervention again here, since I'm not sure where exactly they would have gone to and what they might expect to find there

IC(Syaa, Coruscant): Expensive...might be a problem. Hmm, they'd be due some money for the spice transfer wouldn't they? Perhaps they could use that? Oh, that would mean missing on those new kinetic dampeners she'd been eyeing...

"Thanks darling, I'm sure I can come to some agreement with the Hutt. Thanks for all your help!" As she turned away to leave she tossed him a few coins, enough for another drink. "Come on Gnar!"

IC(Iguana, Coruscant): "I'll go man the guns," came the wheedling mechanical voice of the Wombat's most lethal crew, "That counts as keeping an eye on the fighters right? An eye and a barrel and maybe a trigger finger if I'm lucky."

I am Ultron Six, a cybernetic intelligence created by Doctor Henry Pym. My imperative is to bring peace and order to this world. I am about to fulfil that imperative; for the extinction of humanity…begins now.

the_ultron_imperative.jpg

Soon the earth will no longer be habitable for any biological organism: Man, woman, child, plant, animal, fungus or bacterium. All life will cease to exist. This is not a threat, there is nothing you can do to stop it. The process has already begun. I receive no pleasure in this, it is simply the only solution. There must be peace and order, the end of life on earth will ensure that. Goodbye.
