Acknowledge Warning: Permission denied

Posted by on Feb 24 2013 - 10:45 AM

So, when I got my Premier-proto increase (Yay!), which is done through the warning-system, I of course got a notification. However, when I clicked the link in order to acknowledge it, I got a "Sorry, you don't have permission for that!" message.
However, the link at the bottom of every thread works perfectly fine. (So you're not stuck without any posting permissions whatsoever)

Difference:
Link in notifications (AKA: the not-working one): /board/index.php?app=members&module=profile&section=warnings&member=YourMemberID
Link at the bottom of threads (AKA: the working one): /board/index.php?app=members&module=profile&section=warnings&do=acknowledge&id=WarningID
Obviously, you need to replace 'YourMemberID' and 'WarningID' with the appropriate IDs.

This shouldn't be that hard to fix, since it's just a simple change of links.

Hmm, it looks like the notification is trying to link you to your warning center, which we don't allow. This is something baked into the forum software and not something we can easily change. I'll contact Invision about it though.

This should be fixed as a result of the recent upgrade. We'll have to find a way to test it out. Any volunteers?

You may lower my proto if you want, sure, I volunteer.

(As long as you higher it again after the experiment :))

Awesome. Let me know what happens.

If you need more data, I volunteer as well.

Aaand Nope, not resolved. Nothing has changed, both links look still the same as mentioned in the first post and the issue is still there.

Thanks. I'll have to bug Invision about this again.

I recently got a proto boost, and didn't encounter any problems with it.

Interesting. We'll have to look into this further then.

It appears that the bug is rather recent. I remember getting a boost right before easter, and no bugs were there. However on my latest boost(Two Weeks Ago, and Now) the issue was there.

I got the boost on June 13, around yonderabouts. Have not seen the error.

We might want to test this out with a couple more people. So far, only two have experienced the problem. Perhaps it could be a problem only they're experiencing, because fisher seems to have had no problems when earning proto. I'll volunteer if any tests need to be made, and I know ~Shockwave~ volunteered as well.

I volunteer as well, seeing as yours truly would be a good test case, obviously.

Doesn't work for me either. Says I don't have permission.
