Paragraph Breaks Not Working If Post Box Malfunctions

Posted by Blessed Blade on Oct 31 2013 - 09:00 PM

Alright, so, a long while back, I posted an issue about 'white space' being erased whenever I was doing something on my 3DS; basically it not recognizing that I hit enter each time I did. Well, I have had to disable javascript today for BZP, because my laptop is having a very hard time loading pages this week, and it's likely a combination of bad internet and bad computer. But either way, I go to post something with my normal formatting just now, and it removed all the spacing between paragraphs in the actual post; but retained it in edit mode, something I couldn't really test on my 3DS.

What I've found from this, is that it isn't exactly anything in particular that's at fault; it's that if you can't load the actual editor, rich text or not, since there's no 'fallback' old school editor anymore, it breaks things if either it doesn't work because of no javascript, or because you can't 'focus' on the editor, which is the case for the 3DS.

If this formats correctly, then my secondary hunch is correct; it only breaks if it's the quick reply text editor. Why it's just that, though, I'm not quite sure; because it should just break everything if that's the case. But this is the only thing that makes sense; if the text editor fails to load, it just doesn't work right. And while the solution can be to just not have it break, I think this case is showing that there's not really as clear a solution as once thought, because older laptops that are forced could do this, and who knows about tablets if you don't use the mobile app...

Is this still an issue?

Seems like it; I just tested it here, and the two sentences should be on two different lines.

Since it always had the same effect on my 3DS' browser as it did on the javascript disabled browser, I decided to retest it on that, rather than disabling stuff on my browser. ^^'

That said, tablets seem to work fine, since they actually load the editor.

All right, back to Accepted! Now where is that B6...

Still no page breaks when it doesn't load the editor... I half wonder if it's just the way it parses it... But, when I went to try and edit it once, before it loaded fully, it showed it on the separate lines, oddly enough, for a split second. ._. (The two sentences should be on separate lines again)
