Content in quotes changes to match posts.

Posted by Makuta Luroka on Feb 04 2014 - 10:36 AM

This could perhaps be considered either an issue or a suggestion, but I wouldn't give it too much priority (after all, there are other things to be taken with much more gravity than this). The "issue" is this: I customized my posts in my CP to be grey (#969696, though not currently relevant), bolded, 14px Times New Roman with small caps. However, whenever I quote another user, any setting on their content that isn't customized (Default settings, exempli gratia: black text, 10.5 font size, Arial font style, et cetera) is changed to match my settings. This appears to happen for each setting in the Customize posts page, though only for those settings the quotee didn't change. id est, If I were to quote a user who has Normal font weight, Purple font color, italicized Arial font at default size, underlined without small-caps, untransformed and aligned to the left, the quote would be bold, purple, italic, Times New Roman, 14px, underlined, with Small-caps, untransformed, and aligned to the left. exempli gratia:

There is another example here.
I do not know if there is a way for the administration to actually fix this, it might be an IP.Board issue. I just wanted to bring some attention to it.
EDIT: Right, so custom post settings do not affect tracker tickets, but you get the general idea, I hope.

This is a result of the add-on we use to allow the customization of posts. It's keyed to the user who is making the post, and applies the formatting to any post they make, regardless of whether or not there's a quote in it. I'm not sure it would even be possible for them to fix it.
