Removal of Flood Control

Posted by Battery on Feb 23 2014 - 12:46 AM

The implementation of flood control these days makes it a bit difficult to browse the forums. The waiting period can be annoying, especially when you're making several posts in succession or when you've made a typo while searching and need to search for the correct term, yet have to wait half a minute to do so. While it's understandable on a far more active site, BZPower isn't exactly a site with heavy traffic, making flood control rather redundant.
So it'd be pretty nice to see it removed.

:shrugs: It was particularly annoying when I was doing some searches awhile back.

I don't browse often enough for this to pop up as a problem for me, but nonetheless I consider this a vestige of a more active era that could very realistically be removed.

For the record, search flood control is separate from post flood control. The former can be adjusted on a per-group basis, but the latter is a global setting. Not sure why the difference, but it is what it is.
