Upvote quota too low?

Posted by Lyichir on Oct 11 2014 - 08:24 AM

I never knew before today that there even WAS an upvote quota, but apparently you can only upvote 50 things in a single day before it cuts you off from doing so. 50 seems like a lot but in the past day I've hit that quota due to the high activity level spurred by Bionicle's announcement (and the high percentage of smart/funny posts that come with it). If this is a preview of what the forum activity level will be like when Bionicle is back in force, I think the quota is going to need to be significantly higher going forward. How high exactly, I have no idea—I'll leave that up to the staff who have some idea of why the quota is there in the first place.

At the least, being able to track the amount of upvotes you've already made in a 24 hour period would be nice. Not sure how that could be done, but I was thinking maybe some kind of system where every time you upvote a comment, a message pops up saying, "You have 'X' upvotes left today." Going even further than that--even though I've never hit the limit--I'm sure it would be helpful if the popup box also said something like, "'X' hours/minutes until upvoting reset."

There was a similar issue raised a couple of months ago, but I don't know what came of it. :shrugs:

For efficacy, let's use the ticket Zeddy linked to.
