Topics started recently with 0 replies show "0 views" - but have been viewed?
I think there might be a bug with the views counter on threads. I asked about this in the general Q&A forum and was told this was very likely a bug - but topics that have been started since the start of this month that have had 0 replies also show that they have 0 views, though this is untrue as I have viewed those topics and I'm sure other members have as well. This was noticed by me in the BST forum, notably with the "selling complete Boxor" and "Selling Lesovikk" threads (and my thread also) within that forum, though I have also noticed threads in the BZPower News Discussion with "0 replies, 0 views" dating back to April 27th (those with 0 replies before that date have a view count greater than 0)
I suspect that view counters are not incrementing properly on many, if not all threads on BZPower (not just the examples I mention) (maybe only incrementing after a certain period of time or whenever a reply is posted), and could do with investigation (or an explanation if it's unfixable), as this doesn't happen in another board I frequent that has exactly the same format as this one.
If this issue was already known about, I apologise, but couldn't see anything about it already in the Tracker.
I'd assume it's server cache.
Seems most likely - certainly can't be my internet cache as I've cleared it recently (so another site could display correct images) so it must be to do with BZPower's server cache.
FYI, not long after posting the original issue, my topic (which had the 0 views problem) did get a reply, and the number of views suddenly shot up to 70, and only updates when a new reply gets posted (or, as it appears with other topics, after 2 weeks of inactivity).
Hopefully this'll be fixed soon, it really annoyed me, when I saw that my threads were just going lower and lower with 0 - 0
Marking as accepted.
I notice the issue was pretty much fixed yesterday evening, recent topics with 0 replies did have views recorded and was incrementing normally.
I think this issue can now be considered fixed
There are some settings that can be tweaked in order to prevent this from happening in the future, but with concerns about server load, things are going to stay the way they are. It's good to hear the problem seems to have fixed itself, then; hopefully, it will stay this way.
