Suggestions for General Discussion Forum

Posted by Chronicler06 on Jul 23 2016 - 09:00 PM

I would like to make a couple of suggestions based on how the General Discussion forum is currently set up.

First of all, with all the raffles that have been going on this week, virtually every other topic on that forum has been getting pushed off the first page, and to be honest, I'm starting to get a little annoyed that virtually every topic there is just raffle results with everyone just saying "congratulations". So my first suggestion would be to create a separate subforum for these raffle results so that everyone can still see who won each of them without having them cluttering up the main forum.

My second suggestion has to do with the only subforum that's currently on the General Discussion forum, and that's for the "Ninjas in Space" contest that apparently took place about two years ago. I really don't think we need to keep a subforum for a contest that ended two years ago, so my second suggestion is to simply get rid of it (and maybe move the topics to General Discussion, since I doubt anyone has even bothered to look at them recently).

I think these two suggestions of mine could really help to make the General Discussion forum look a bit better organized, so what do you guys think?

Personally I don't really have any objections to these two.  Perhaps a single consolidated topic for the raffle winners makes a bit more sense than a whole subforum, granted...

That said, yeah, it's a bit silly to have a years-old contest subforum there.  That can likely be merged back into the overall thing.

Seems like a good idea. I think GSR's suggestion for the raffle official topic is a good one, but then it's possible some members could miss that a particular raffle winner has been determined.
