Pretty much, I use the notifications list a lot. So, um, I've kinda accumulated about 50,000 notifications and counting. And, well, once I look at the notifications, they're useless to me from then on... But, the only way to delete them, is to manually check off each box, and keep that up for every page(1003 in my case).
I was thinking if a 'delete all notifications' button could be added, it'd save a LOT of time and hassle for members, and since I see a lot of the staff using the notifications a lot, they could probably benefit from such a button, since they'd likely gather up even more notifications than I would in a single day. Which can be around 100 notifications for the record.
There's a similar deal for PMs, but that's nowhere near as bad, since you max at 1000 conversations as a Premier Member, and even less as a normal member. So you really could just go through and delete them on your own.
Again, it's not a big deal, but I do keep wanting to delete my unneeded notifications... It's just the sheer amount of them that prevents me from doing so. xD If it's impossible, then I understand.

I do get a lot of notifications, though, but luckily it's gone down in the past little bit. It didn't help for the longest time that I followed a ton of the RPGs. ^^' But, if it's supposed to be only keeping three months worth, then I actually just found a bug, in that it keeps it more along the lines of eight or nine months. 0_o I'll definitely be considering following less things, though. =)
I've received new notifications since tweaking the settings and still have the eight months of notifications, but we'll have to wait until we upgrade to the newest version to see if this is fully resolved.
I can't reproduce this on [the next release] and I'm 99.9% confident this is a duplicate as I remember fixing it. I can't find the original report however. It's also worth noting that the old notifications are only cleared out when the member receives a new one and not simply by adjusting the setting.
