  1. ...zzz......zzz......huh...what?I'm up, I'm up.*looks around*Gosh! I should just call myself Rip Van Winkle! Look how much has changed since I last left!Anyway, what's the thread?*reads thread title, reads thread*Oh, lovely. Another excuse to pull off an "EVERYTHING WAS BETTER IN MY DAY!" rant.Hey, you wanna know some bad cartoons? Try Thundercats 80s, Transformers GEEWUN, and My Little Pony and Friends. Those are absolutely terrible. No troll. But if you're looking for universally bad animation, try The Doozy Bots. Mobile Suit Gundam dumbed down, preventing kids from getting the original until 2001, thus destroying Gundam in the US. Proof that not all bad cartoons are modern.
  2. So, you know Zedd too, huh? He was awesome back in the day. Good times...

  3. Mood: :wakeup2: Tired Sigh, what, it's like 3:47 right now and I just realized how long I've neglected this thing. Yeah, I'll get around to updating this thing, but if I do, you must be well prepared in case I forget. Anyways, I've been rather hard on you guys, so I'll give you a G1 Starscream Review just to cheer you guys up. ALTERNATE MODE: How does this thing look in vehicle mode? In vehicle mode, Starscream is an F-15 Eagle. His colors are Off-White on most of the body, Red on the vents and stripes on his tailfins and wings, Purple on the Decepticon logos on his wings, Transluscent Orange on his windshield, and Light Blue on his tailfins and nosecone. The vehicle mode looks very nice, and looks very much like an F-15 Eagle. There is some undercarrage junk on the bottom, and the parts sometimes seperate, but that rarely happens, and the undercarrage junk isn't as bad as usual. ROBOT MODE: After you've transformed him, how does he compare? As a robot, Starscream is certainly a nice toy. His colors are Red on the torso, Off-White on his arms, legs, wings and missle launchers, Black on his head, and blue on the sides of his arms, his feet, hands and portions of his legs. It certainly looks like Starcream, and the face is sculpted very well, yet has no eye stickers (or at least proper ones). Starscream has typical articulation for a G1 figure. His arms move at the sholders and that's it. Still, I don't mind, mostly because this figure is an older one and because of the high character value. EXTRAS: Is there anything else you should know? There were five different releases of this mold total: the 1984 Original, the 2000 Reissue, the 2003 TF Collection Reissue, the 2003 Commemorative Series Reissue, and the 2007 Encore Reissue. The 2000 Reissue is basically the same as the original figure, the TF Collection Reissue has a more show-accurate color scheme and a Megatron accessory (and is also the version of the figure I own ), the Commemorative Reissue has elongated missle to comply with new safety laws, and the Encore Reissue has a yellow canopy and shorter missle launchers. FINAL SCORES Figure: 7/10 Good character, good sculpt, low articulation. Oh, well. Fun: 8/10 He's Starscream, what more do you need? Price: 5/10 My TF Collection Starscream cost me $92.50. The Encore will probably cost you $45.00. UP NEXT: Remaking this review. It was 3:47 when I started, and it's now 4:22. Good night, everyone.
  4. Mood: Better I think I'll stop chattin' about my personal life. The last time I tried this, it didn't really work out all that well, and I was in danger of gettin' banned. From now on, I think I'll just stick to reviews like I did before. Chat with ya later!
  5. Comment...or don't. Just kneel while ya do it. KNEEL! KNEEL BEFORE DARK!
  6. Mood: Angered  Listening To: Knight Man's Stage-Rockman 6 Complete Works Today I'll be reviewing Superman II: The Richard Donner cut, in an attempt to prove I am not dead. I know, I know, it's been several years since anyone has seen Superman II when it was the best time to see it, and I know you were kinda dissapointed. The reason is simple: In production of the movie, original director Richard Donner was removed from his role as director, and was replaced with Richard Lester, a man who would later betray us all with Superman III. Lester added in some scenes and changed some of them, such as the "Flames of Love" that Clark Kent somehow survived, the scene at the Eiffel Tower ("I believe this is your floor."), and more nutoriously, the "Super-Kiss". All these scenes and more are nowhere to be found in the Richard Donner Cut. This version used the footage from screen tests to change things around. Instead of the Eiffel Tower scene, we are treated to a recap of the events from the first film. Replacing the "Flames of Love" is Lois shooting Mr. Kent with a bullet to find out the truth. And replacing the "Super-Kiss"...well, that's something you'll have to see for yourself. I will warn you, if you didn't like the ending to Superman I, you probably won't like the Superman II Donner Cut ending. Another new feature is the removal of the other Kryptonian recordings in the Fortress of Solitude. So who does all their dialouge there? Why, Jor-El, of course! Yeah, you heard me. Replacing Lara is Jor-El, played by Marlon Brando, just like before. He also steps in to provide a different method of restoring Superman's powers, one without plotholes that makes this, the first film, and Superman Returns a complete trilogy. Moving on to the Bonus Features. There are two. A Behind-the-Scenes video that provides a lot of insight into this whole thing. If you need a bit more information on how this was made, watch it. I can't describe it well enough. The Deleted Scenes, however, are not worth the watch. They were shown on the TV cut of the movie, and did not go well when they were in the movie. Therefore, I can't blame them for not showing them in the finished product. Overall, this is the way to see Superman II. If you're not proud of Superman II as you have it, get the Donner Cut. If you haven't seen Superman II, make sure you get the Donner Cut. Either way, you'll find yourself kneeling before Zod in no time. B+
  7. I heard that it was a false image, and nothin' more. Is that true?

    Oops.

Well, with that in mind, did you know you can edit entries? Or delete them?
  10. Current Mood: Great! Listening To: Hulk Theme-Marvel VS Capcom X-Men's follow-up is next on the list: Marvel Super Heroes Not unlike X-Men, Marvel Super Heroes allowed you to select your favorite characters, and 2 obscure characters (Shuma Gorath and Blackheart). You could also select toned-down versions of Juggernaut and Magneto from the last game. For bosses, this role is filled by Dr. Doom and Thanos, the latter having immense power. A new (and unique) feature to this game was the addition of Infinity Gems. These would activte powers in the character that you could only dream of before. Plus, each character had a certain gem that, when used, gave you immense POWER! Some would double you, some would make you invincible to anything! An excellent system, and this would continue to create a great series... The Name Game: ...nothing. There's no name changes. Little Known Facts: The Japanese version would let you select the hidden character ANITA from Vampire Hunter (Night Warriors). Her super move alone gives her a case of SNK Boss Syndrome. In addition, this game is not to be confused with the SNES game, Marvel Super Heroes-War of the Gems. Look for that elsewhere. Like before, this is availible on PSX and Saturn. In real-life news, I'm becoming well-liked around the school. My Sensei even sends messages to the teachers complementing me. I'm that great, I guess!
  11. Mood: Bored Here now, is the continuation to Darkstalkers: NIGHT WARRIORS-DARKSTALKERS REVENGE Not really a sequel, but rather, a retelling of the 1st game. Night Warriors adds player characters Hsien-Ko and Donovan. The addition of Boss Characters Pyron and Huitzil as player characters was also a nice touch. The stages were also recolored for a different feel, as were the characters. Each character now has 6 colors, and this also applies to bosses and new characters. The difficulty was apparently lessened as well, as I can get by easily. This game is very addictive, and you'll want to play it 'till the sun comes up...and even afterwards! The Name Game: This game is known as Vampire Hunter-Darkstalkers Revenge in Japan, and Raptor is Zabel, Taliban is Gallon, Rikou is Alubath, Phobos is Huitzil, and now, Hsien-Ko is known as Lei-Lei. Little Known Facts: Donovan seems to be inspired by D from Vampire Hunter D. He seeks to remove his vampiric blood, and slay his own kind with an oversized sword. You know the drill. Saturn, PSX, and Gametap.
  12. Mood: Proud Today is the start of a new series: STREET FIGHTER ALPHA The 1st game in the Alpha series is a very fun game. This is set before Street Fighter II and after the original Street Fighter. Characters Birdie and Adon from the 1st game come back, in addition to characters Guy and Sodom from Final Fight. The role of bosses goes to Bison and Akuma, and the series adds Rose and Charlie. The sprites have been redrawn to a sleek anime style, and Super Meters now have 3 levels of power. A great game, but balancing is off, some voices aren't good (Birdie's to be exact), and fans missed some other faves like Dhalsim and Zangief. But it's still one of the most recognized titles ever. The Name Game: The series is named Street Fighter Zero in japan, so Alpha Counters are obviously gonna be Zero Counters. Bison and Akuma are again named Vega and Gouki respectively. Charlie is known as Nash there, and some people combine the two names to make "Charlie Nash". Little Known Facts: Some home versions of the game have a remixed music set. Personally, I like it. Got a nice ring to it. Pick this fun game up for the Saturn, PSX, PS2 (Thanks to Alpha Anthology), or via Gametap. It's well worth it!
  13. Mood: Agreeable Next up: X-MEN-CHILDREN OF THE ATOM This is the 1st in the Marvel Series, and is lovely! This takes characters from the popular X-Men series, gives them gameplay of Street Fighter, and makes for fun playing! The sprites are lovely, and the backgrounds match perfectly, and are also lush! The plot is understandable, and perfect for X-Men. No character has been messed up, and it even gives reasons for Omega Red and Spiral's betrayal. In short, a perfect tribute to Marvel's X-Men, and something to inspire us all. Play it as soon as possible, true believers! The Name Game: No characters names are changed. Localization is just a translation of the text...BUT, the secret character AKUMA has his name changed to Gouki again. Yep. Akuma's in this one! Little Known Facts: Some people have been straining to find out how to play the bosses. The only way this is possible is through GameShark or something like that. In addition, technically, this is the first appearance of Akuma's Supers (Messatsu Gou Hadou, Messatsu Gou Shoryu), and they are even done with classic Street Fighter motions (|\-|\- +Punch) rather than Marvel motions (|\- +2Punches). This is available on Playstation and Saturn. Dead consoles maybe, but PS2 is backward compatible. Excelsior!
