THE WAR OF MATA NUI AND MAKUTA
Prologue

"Please, sir, I didn't do it." Mata nui pleeded.

The rest of the great beings laughed at his protests, each one of them thought he was guilty.

"We have reason to belive that you murdered Makuta." said the great beings master. "His body was found in your palace -- it was hidden in an underground chamber. your protodermis knife was found nearby -- dripping with his blood!"

"I am not a murderer." Mata nui protested. "You know I love life. You know I love my brother. I DIDN'T DO IT!"

"Silence!" shouted the great beings master. "We have even more evadince -- a witness saw you kill him! Everyone in this chamber thinks you are guilty!"

Mata nui fidgeted with the chains that bound his hands, and continued pleeding.

"Please." Mata nui said, tears dripping from his eyes. "Please belive me."

The leader of the great beings reconsidered this, what had he been thinking, Mata nui murdering his own brother? But it was too late. The canister was prepared.

"As much as I hate to say this." said the leader of the great beings, "You will be banished forever. The canister is prepared."

"Yes! Yes! Send him away now!" the rest of the great beings cheered, while insulting mata nui.

Two gaurds came forth, grabbed Mata nui, and started hauling him off to a canister.

The gaurds dropped Mata nui into the canister, and started hauling it off.

The leader of the great beings and some other gods followed the gaurds until they reached a balcony overlooking a huge ocean, dotted with Islands and continents.

"Send him to the smallest island." instructed the breat beings leader.

"But sir--" protested one of the gaurds. "That Island has faced many wars! The bahrag nearly cleansed that place -- it is too dangerous!"

"Which one of us is the leader! Dump him now!"

The guards hurled the canister off the balcony, and watched it fall down to the Islands.

The canister fell through the sky, and finnaly landed on the Island that would soon be named after Mata nui.

Hidden deep within Mata nui's palace, Makuta laughed, oh, it had been so easy to frame his brother! finnaly, he could rule over all the great beings.....

Chapter one
Mata nui arrives

In the center of the Island which would soon be named mata nui, there was an areana, full of vicious animals and tohunga prepared for battle.

Ever since the time before time had ended, the tohunga's civilization had been paralized, recordin events had stopped, food was no longer plentiful, tohunga were cruel, and death was everywhere.

Six tohunga named Vakama, Nuju, Whenua, Matau, Onewa, and Nokama had been chosen to go into the areana to fight dangerous rahi, to fight themselves, and undoubhtedly die. Why was this happening? It was what the other tohunga called 'entertainment'

Just as the six tohunga were a bout to start fighting the rahi, a silvery-white commet shot down from the heavens, and landed nearby.

An explosion apeared from where the canister landed, and when the dust cleared, a figure was walking towards the areana. He was mata nui.

Mata nui was the size of a turaga, and was silvery-white. He wore a mask which was a cross between a hau and a huna, his eyes where shining gold, and he carried a staff which had many gems on it.

"Attack him." a particularly nasty Tohunga snarled to the rahi.

The rahi charged Mata nui, preparing to destroy him. But mata nui grew, until he was the size of a toa, who wore a hau, carried a sword, and was completely silver.

SLICE! SLICE! SLICE!

The rahi fell to the ground, completely dead. Mata nui then shrunk himself back to his turaga form.

"I see you are facing hard times." said mata nui. "But no more!" at his command, a gold flash errupted from his body, which washed across the Island.

From that day forth, food was plentiful, Rahi were no longer forced to fight each other, and everyone was happy.

Mata nui chose six tohunga-- (Vakama, Nuju, Whenua, Matau, Onewa and Nokama) and gave them tools and masks of power.

These six Tohunga were transformed into turaga, who helped Mata nui rule.

Other tohunga discovered protodermis, which they used to make masks. They invented sports, they invented ways of hunting, they created brides and boats, and invented many more things.

In grattitude to Mata nui, the tohunga named their island after him. Things were going well.

But back in the great beings realm, Makuta had been caught, and was currently on trialn with the rest of the great beings.

"You're telling me you framed your own brother and faked your death!?" shouted The great beings leader.

"Yes I did!" Makuta shouted back, tugging at his chains. "We banished Mata nui for a crime he did not commit!" realized a great being. "We must get Mata nui back!"

"It's too late." sneered Makuta. "Once a person or creature is banished, if they are banished forever. If they come back, the world shall end!"

"Then you shall be banished to mata nui's Island!" yelled the great beings leader. "But sir --" said the great being who had spoken earlier. "Don't you think this villan shall attempt to kill his brother if he is placed on the same island?"

"You are right." said the great beings leader. "Makuta, you are banished to the most isolate Island on this plane!"

The gaurds hauled makuta off, and dumped him into a canister.

Chapter two
Makuta arrives
Makuta's canister crashed to the ground, creating a crater. "Where am I?...." moaned Makuta.

Then it all came back to him: He had been banished by the great beings, since they found out he had framed mata nui.

I must create an army to conquer mata nui. thought Makuta.

He noticed an ussal crawl by, scuttling into a cave. This creature may be useful......

Makuta scast a spell, which created a dark cloud. it floated over the ussal, and some moaning was heard.

When the mist cleared, the ussal had grown, and looked more evil. it had larger claws, and had evil red eyes. This was a creature to be reckoned with. Still needs to be more powerful...... thought Makuta.

Makuta spent hours casting spell and mutating the ussal, finnaly, he thought it looked worthy of his service.

I will call this creature 'mana'

Makuta used his powers to create minions of evil, which had no name. He used them to create a canister which he could travel in, along with a few servents.

If someone was looking at the Island Makuta was on, they would see a black canister shooting through they sky, heading towards mata nui.

"This is a beutiful temple." commented Mata nui. "We hoped you would like it." replied Nokama. "The tohung made it just for you."

At that moment a black canister smashed onto the temple, cracking parts of it off.

"I spent days working on that temple!" complained Onewa.

Out of the canister emerged a dark figure, the size of a turaga wearing a mask that looked distincly like a large krana za.

"Ah.... Mata nui......" grinned the figure. "We meet again...."

"Who are you!?" demmanded Mata nui.

"I.... am MAKUTA!" shouted Mata nui's brother. The two gods drew out turaga tools, and shooting glowing rays at each other.

Mata nui reeled back from the purple energy which Makuta had conjured, clutching his stomach.

Makuta threw his tool to the side, and conjured up a black sword. "die!" he shouted.

Mata nui drew out a sword, and shot silver energy, to block Makuta's.

Mata nui stopped shooting energy and stabbed Makuta. The dark god reeled back in pain, moaning.

makuta stopped moaning and looked up at mata nui and the turaga. he grinned. "You have yet to taste my power."

A toranado ripped across the landscape, destroying everything in it's path.

"See how you deal with this!" laughed Makuta.

The turaga and Mata nui retreated, running toward ga-koro as the sun set.

Chapter three
Infected
Mata nui had summoned the turaga and matoran to ga-koro, to discuss the threat of Makuta.

"I am very sorry to tell you this --" apologized mata nui, "Makuta is stronger than me. This is a battle I cannot win."

The crowd of turaga and matoran gasped, not beliving what mata nui had told them. How could their leader fall? He had brought peace back to the island, he had ended starvation, he had tamed rahi. How could mata nui fall?

"Tell me you are lying!" said a matoran. "I am sorry, but I am not lying. What I say is true."

"Makuta cannot win!" said Vakama. "There are six hundred Matoran, six turaga (including me) and you! Makuta dosn't even have an army!"

"My brother has his ways." replied Mata nui. "He can make armys in a matter of weeks if he wants. You never know what he'll do next."

Far away in kini-nui, during night, Makuta was listening to the conversation mata nui was having by using a nui-rama.

"You are right, mata nui," chuckled Makuta. "I can make armys in weeks."

Makuta started considering the options: He could not make the turaga or matoran join him, they were to loyal to mata nui. He could not create an army out of thin air, it would drain him of power and energy.

There was only one option left: He would have to force people to join his army. But I will not enslave matoran or turaga. thought Makuta. They are too weak. Instead I will enslave........ Rahi!

A muaka was walking across the grass in kini-nui, searching for food. "Come here........" said a very evil voice.

The muaka wimpered and started running off, afraid to see who the evil voice belonged to.

As the Muaka ran across the grass, Makuta followed it.

The poor cat ran faster and faster, but Makuta caught up.

The Muaka felt two masks tough him, and then, for some reason, he was eager to obey Makuta.

It worked...... just as I planned...... thought Makuta. "Take these," He said, as he put some infected Kanohi on the Muaka's back. "Do not lose them. Put them on any other beast you see. I need more minions."

The muaka bounded off into the night, the infected Kanohi not falling off it's back.

Makuta went back into kini-nui, he would need more infected masks for Rahi.
