Because of so many stories that inspired me, I managed to pull one out of my own head. Whee, isn’t this so much fun?
Raiju – Unity for an Angel The Strangers RRRRAAAAAAUUUUUUHHHHHHH! A stranded, violet warrior roared her mightiest, trying to summon a thunderstorm. She was angered, but deeply tired from the bonds that held her tight against a rock that faced towards an island. The fighter was tied there for an abundant amount of time. Almost two years to be exact. The clouds turned dark and dreary as they rolled in. The seas churned as they darkened. “I must go home! This is going to be my last chance.” Then the clouds rumbled as rain started to fall. She hated rain. Looking up, the being cried, “Why me?!” Suddenly, lightning stuck close to her, burning up a boulder! She smiled as she commanded the next to hit her. Even though the electric blast might leave her in amnesia or maybe kill her, she didn’t care as long as she could return. Where? Well, to Mata Nui. Shrak! Sizzle! The next bolt of lightning missed her and took a chunk out of the top of her rock. She groaned in frustration. Lightning is a very naughty element to control, but Mata Nui told her that it suited her. The purple Toa chuckled as drops of rain fell onto her glowing face. “Yeah, right…” She was exhausted for staying up all year around, trying to free herself. The warrior of thunder almost had forgotten her electric power as she moaned for her missing mask. Then she took one last look at the streak of lightning hurtling towards her. It crashed into the side of her open prison and the rock split in half! The remnants of her bonds shattered into pieces as she fell into the deep, dark ocean that waited. It was her destiny and she accepted it. But, her destiny was not to be eaten by fish. “What the-?” Clang! Thump! Crash! Her body parts separated as she impacted into what seemed to be a metal pod. Her decapitated head twitched slightly before the pod closed its covering. She blacked out. A man rushed down the hall, holding a large, clothed object. Bronze plaques whizzed by as he hunted down the door of his destination: #669 Dimension Cross Lab. He turned his head left and right before entering a code on the side of the metal door and snuck in. The man brought the object close to his arms and pulled the cover, revealing a sleeping infant. He kissed it on its forehead before he secured the blanket tightly and put the child into a small ship. The father jumped towards the controls and began to type very fast. Suddenly the door banged. “Come out, Dr. Kiro. I know you’ve got the baby. Surrender the angel or we’ll shoot the door down and arrest you for theft.” The man wished that he had more time. He cursed as he type frantically. Come on… The computer sprang to life as the screen glowed with 0’s and 1’s. The screen showed the weight of the cargo and the count down to its location. Kino jumped out of his chair and waited by the door, holding a piece of metal bar. He jammed it between two pegs, securing the door tight. Then he looked at the screen. Two more minutes… Two columns in the back of the room glowed furiously and flashed several times. The craft, which the child was in, turned on its engines. Its nozzle pointed straight at the space between the columns. Then it started the gain speed. Kino heard gunshots at the door. Dents began to appear at the metal barrier. He glanced over at the controls. Thirty more seconds... The space between the glowing columns started to ripple and flicker white. The ship revved up its center core and in one burst of power; the infant flew at the portal at two hundred thirty miles! “Destination reached.” The computer beeped and he pulled the plug. The vehicle disappeared just as the door gave away and the guards shot the doctor in the leg. He groaned as another man stepped over him, whisking himself over at the dulled columns. “The angel breached the portal. I’m going in!” “No, sir. The doctor cut off the circuits!” One of the guards called from the control center. “Argh! Kill the idiot. I’m going to locate the child.” “Sir, we’ve lost the child.” The same guard gave him the bad news. The man walked up to him and said casually, “You’re fired.” …Okay, that was pretty short. Oh well, it’s my first try. Review Here. Chapter 2’s coming… This post has been edited by Brave_Dragon: Jan 10 2003, 12:47 AM -------------------- Exercising freedom takes great responsibility. ...right about now.
The Arrival “Hmm…” a Turaga muttered to himself as he looked at the constellations high above his spot. “…a human child of unusual powers…and another Toa?!” “Vakama, what do you see?” Vakama jumped as he turned around, seeing a figure several feet higher than his own height. The form carried silver, dual swords and was well armored. “Tahu! Don’t scare me like that!” The Turaga cried out. “I am sorry.” The Toa Nuva apologized. “Well, what did you see?” “Strange things. Hold on.” Vakama was quiet as he saw a burning star crashing on a mountain several bios northwest from Ta-Koro. “It’s Kini Nui!” “What’s wrong with Kini Nui?” “The stars are telling me to send you over to Kini Nui.” “Hmm…” Tahu Nuva looked up. “Are you sure that the stars are telling you right? To me, I only see stars.” “Definitely.” Tahu shrugged as he sped off, leaving Vakama in the ashes of their volcanic home. He arrived at the temple on top of a mountain, but saw smoke everywhere. Then Tahu saw a large piece of rubble near the center of the entrance to Makuta’s old hiding spot. He swatted away the smoke, but of no avail. At last, Tahu looked at the metal ship and ripped the cracked window open. He gasped. “It’s a-a…” “Child?” A cold voice spoke out. Tahu, surprised, whipped around and flashed his weapons, only to see Kopaka Nuva of Ice standing in front of him. He relaxed, setting his magma swords beside the broken ship, and turned towards the odd alien. “No, I was thinking more of a monkey…” Tahu lifted the baby up. “…With no tail.” Another voice, but more feminine, spoke up. “Maybe it’s one of those hoomans. Nokama had an old file of their species.” “Gali!” Tahu looked at the Toa of Water. She calmly walked to his side and grasped the baby, “And you’re holding it up-side down.” “How should I know how to take care of an alien?” Tahu felt a bit embarrassed. In a gust of wind, Lewa Nuva appeared, eyeing the infant with his yellow eyes. “It looks like a boy.” Gali disagreed as she cuddled the child with her metal arms. “There are plenty of boys around here. I hope by luck that this is a girl.” “What girl?” A part of the ground collapsed as Onua Nuva appeared, holding his quake breakers. Lewa pointed at the baby. “We’re deciding its gender.” Onua nodded just as Pohatu of stone arrived on time. Pohatu looked around the smoking scenery. “Okay, Tahu, admit it. Did you just burn down the temple of Kini Nui?” The Toa laughed except Tahu and Kopaka. “That’s not funny.” He pouted. Kopaka spoke up, “Well, what is his name?” “Her.” Gali butted in. Lewa rolled his eyes, but then got an idea. “How about Lewa II?” All he got was a whack from one of Tahu’s flat side of his blades. Lewa confirmed as he fixed his mask, “I guess that is a no.” It took them a few minutes to figure out a nice name. Finally, Onua answered. “How about Honu?” Suddenly it clicked into Gali’s mind. “Honu Konugatawatu. His name shall have the syllables from each of us.” The Toa agreed, leaving Lewa disappointed. “How come mine is at the very last part?” Onua Nuva hushed him. “It’s better to leave that alone before someone else strangles you.” Now, they were Honu’s parents. First, Gali took him/her to Ga-Koro to be nursed by the Matorans that dwelled there. As Honu grew up, Gali was disheartened that he/she was a male. Then each Toa took turns caring for the child until he matured and yearned for wisdom. Honu learned how to play Koli with Pohatu, swim with Gali, ski with Kopaka, glide and jungle swing with Lewa, dig for Protodermis with Onua, and lava-surf with Tahu. Without realizing it, the Toa had come together as destined and together as one, they would have to encounter the enemies that threatens their homeland, even if the Toa had to meet one more of them. End of Chapter I'll thank you for reading this. ^.^ I know it's kind of off, but it will do. The review topic's Here. -------------------- Exercising freedom takes great responsibility. The Attack
Twelve years later Hissss! The pod opened its door and dumped its contents. Then, one by one the parts started to come alive and clicked together. “My name is Raiju…” A metallic head blinked as most of her body had reassembled. She was purple with small tints of neon green here and there. Her body managed to attach her deadly weapons, the Sickle of Thunder, before her head was picked up. As she was done, Raiju realized that her mask is missing. She roared in anguish as she stormed towards the forest, slicing a couple Ussals and trees. The toa ran until she encountered a hunched figure. It growled as it held its staff, summoning a whirlwind. It was a Lerahk. Raiju was ready as the whirlwind blew everything around her to smithereens. She dug her scythes into the soft ground and held on tight. Then she felt something growing inside of her. “The wrath that dwells inside of me…I can feeling my anger rising…” Then she broke the wind spell as she flung her scythes in a circle around her. Her weapons came to life as bluish electricity sparkled and was spread throughout the entire battleground, stunning the rahkshi and rendering its staff useless in the process. Now was the good time to strike. In a flash, one of her scythes was around its neck and was firmly stable against a tree while her other arm was against the Lerahk’s right arm. “Okay, creation of Makuta, where is my mask? My Hikaru?” The creature struggled, but cannot hear her words, for because she was created not to speak. Raiju sighed, remembering Mata Nui’s words. Then swiftly, she sliced its head off, unable it to function again. She panted, but stopped as she heard voices and laughter. Raiju snorted in disgust. “Why must one play and be merry if Makuta is still alive?!” She sliced a couple more trees before Raiju got into a large clearing. Here, the Le-Koroans play happily in their village. Then one of them noticed her and the village is quiet. Matau suddenly appeared and looked up at the stranger. “Pray, are you a Toa?” She blinked. “Toa?” “Honu! Get down from that volcano! You are going to hurt yourself!” Tahu yelled at the top of his lungs. “Aww, dad. I dun wanna!” A boy yelled back. “You don’t want to meet Mr. Lava again, do you?” Tahu said menacingly as he attempted to give the volcano a short rumble. The boy looked down inside the volcano and the lava was boiling like mad. Honu whined a bit, but then gave up, brushed back his long, silvery hair. “Okay, Tahu, I’m coming down.” He sheathed his katana that lay beside him and picked up his dirt board that he created from bars of protodermis he dug up near Po-Koro. He brought it onto the ledge of the volcano and in one kick, he went hurling down the slope of Mangai at top speed. He swung his body weight to the side and his board slipped off a large chunk of volcanic rock. As he was flying in midair, his board did a 360 before he landed hard on the ground, skidding to a halt in front of Tahu. Calmly, he tucked his board behind him as Tahu sighed. “Honu, you don’t want to keep father Lewa waiting, don’t you?” he gazed into the boy’s sky blue eyes. Honu smiled as he ran. “Daddy, Lewa going to teach me how the swing again and also attempt to change my name to Lenugatakatu.” Tahu stood there, chuckling about Lewa. Oh, that Toa… Honu looked behind him, “Hey dad, are you gonna see dad?” Tahu glanced around his hot surroundings and proceeded to follow Honu. “You see, uh…” Matau looked at the Toa, figuring out her name. The Toa wrote something on the ground with her scythe. They were inside the Turaga’s hut, trying to figure out each other. Raiju’s mind didn’t trust him, but her heart just told her that it was okay. “Raiju. Warrior of Thunder?” She nodded. “Oh, I see. Makuta was defeated by the six Toas, but I feared that he will return.” “Yeah, he’ll return. To have my head, of course.” “I wonder. Where is your kanohi? And do you have a village to protect?” Raiju shrugged, but then wrote something on the ground again. “Mata Nui is your village?!” She nodded. “How?” She pointed at his mask. “Invisibility? No, oh. Your mask is a Kakama?” She shook her head and wrote some more. “ Kami, Kotuno, and Hikaru? What are their functions?” Balance. Teleportation. Telepathy. “Hikaru…” Matau wondered to himself and then asked, “Do you need the kanohi Hikaru to communicate?” She nodded again. “To make things easier then-.” Matau’s sentence was cut short as a wounded Matoran managed to approach them at the door, panting, “Lerahk…coming…swarms…” Then he passed out. Raiju got up and crawled out of the door. Matau looked at his guards and said, “Take care of the Le-Koroan while hustling the men to the front and the women and children to safety. Raiju, will you help us? Lewa had gone to retrieve his son.” They saluted as they ran. Raiju’s scythes started to glow a purplish light. She had menace in her eyes. “Come and get me. Makuta!” End of Chapter 3 Twee!!...uh yeah... ^.^ (Review) This post has been edited by Brave_Dragon: Jan 21 2003, 07:17 PM -------------------- Exercising freedom takes great responsibility. Buah! 4th chapter! Gee, I'm such a slow writer...
The Battle Honu stood by the bridge of Ta-Koro, waiting for Lewa. He sighed as he gazed at the sun high above him. “Man, what is taking him so long?” Finally the boy saw a flying green dot in the distance. “Hm…if he only has his Kakama Nuva. Then the going gets easier.” Lewa swooped down with his Katanas attached to his side and landed. “Sorry, I’m late, Honu Lenugatakatu. Gali need some help over at Ga-Koro. I had to scope out a thunderstorm several mios away. I almost got hit.” Honu chuckled as he climbed onto the green Toa’s back, “It’s Honu Konugatawatu. Seriously, I have more memory space than you have.” Lewa Nuva merely rolled his eyes. “Whatever.” They departed the fiery volcano of Mangai. The swarm of Lehrahk surrounded her. They knew what happened to their fallen companion and took their revenged on her. Raiju looked at the odds, and it wasn’t good on her side. Then they attacked. She tried to block the three that were in front of her, but got ambushed in the back. The warrior grasped one of their staffs by her scythes and jumped off the green, ferocious Lehrahk. She noticed that some of them were starting to attack the villagers. Her wrath is starting to rise. “By power of thunder I summon!” Her blades sparkled and electricity flowed into her. Raiju brought them together and a large sphere of energy appeared. She flung it at one of the buildings and it exploded, sending her enemies right towards her. In a couple of swipes, some lay unmoving. Honu looked at the forest near Le-Koro when he felt something. “Lewa,” he tapped the Toa’s shoulder, “nature calls.” Lewa perked, “Didn’t you go before you left Ta-Koro?” “It’s too hot over there.” Honu whimpered. Lewa sighed as he started to descend. “That was a lame excuse, but since you can’t really take the heat like me, I might as well let it go, hm?” The boy nodded hastily. Lewa glided faster until their feet touched the lush, green leaves of the jungle. When they landed, Honu jumped off and hurriedly ran to the nearest bush. Lewa Nuva sat on a stump and began humming a small tune. After Honu was done, he noticed something silvery sticking out of the dirt. Is that a kanohi? He looked at the ground with the piece of metal. He dug it out. It was indeed a kanohi, but it wasn’t one of the noble masks or the great masks of power. The kanohi had deep grooves underneath its eyeholes and a large horn jutted out of its forehead. Some sort of a covering concealed it’s mouth hole. Honu shrugged as he put it inside his backpack. Hmm…must be under the category with the Vahi…I’ll go ask dad. Then he heard a shriek as he waddled quickly out of the bushes. There sat Lewa Nuva, his hand over his ‘heart’ and staring at a headless Lerahk. The head was at the opposite end of the field of sandy dust. Honu gasped, “What-?” Lewa shrugged and sighed. “I have no clue whatsoever. Whoever did it must be mad. Tahu cannot compare to this.” The boy looked at the scene. Fallen trees, large piles of dirt, and burned marks were the aftermath. Then he noticed Toa-like footprints leading to Le-Koro. He looked back. “Are you sure that this isn’t a joke?” Lewa looked at him in puzzlement. “Since when did I ever pulled a joke on you?” “Yeah, uh huh. Remember when Kopaka’s Akaku went missing? YOU had to put it in my backpack, didn’t you? Just because –.” “Enough already. It was pretty funny,” He chortled with laughter, “Seeing the look on both of your faces…” Suddenly, a small bolt of lightning passed through the forest, zipping pass the boy and barely lighting a tree on fire behind Lewa. Lewa jumped up, slapping his back, which was burnt a bit. Gasping his katanas he pointed them at the tree and the flames fizzled out. Honu asked, “How?” “Le-Koroans called it oppositeair. The air you breathe out. It can extinguish fires. Now, speaking of Le-Koro…did the Kal come?!” “I hope not.” Honu said in concerned as Lewa pick him up and they ran towards his village. Raiju wheezed and staggered, roaring in pain because her left arm was dislocated. Literary. It was lying amongst the ruined part of Le-Koro. She hoped that she didn’t have to work to repair it. The Toa had no time to build. She had a goal, and it will come to her pretty fast. She snarled at the Rahkshi as they pounced on her. She sliced, hacked, and tried every trick in the book to destroy them, but they seemed invincible in numbers. Then she fell on her knees, waiting as her gold eyes turned blood red of wrath. Power began to fuse inside Raiju. In a spark, she was a mad Toa, angrier than Tahu. And then on, she was blinded into confusion by the crimson film in her eyes. Tree rustled and another green figure appeared. It looked exactly like her, yet the armor was different. How dare Makuta make copies of Mata Nui’s creation! Enraged, she slain the rest of the Rahkshi in a blast of light and bounded over at the green figure. Its eyes were wide open as she brought her scythe down. “Honu!” Lewa yelled as he dropped his son down, “Run to the forest! I’ll catch up with you!” “What’s wrong?” Honu asked as he looked at the new, purple warrior. Man, her eyes are scary…whoa wait a minute…that Toa’s a girl? Lewa pushed him into the bushes, “Mad Toa on the loose!” He drew out his katanas as the unknown Toa brought its only blade down. The weapons clashed as sparks flew. Lewa managed a slight chuckle, “So, why are you attacking my people?” The other was silent. Only inaudible grunts and snarls escaped its mouth. “Stop this madness, toa. You are one of us.” The Toa of Air did not notice the flying kick aimed at his head. WWHUMMMPP!!! BANG! He flew from one side of the ruins to the other. Dazed as a hut broke his flight, he shook his head, “Whoa, he’s got a mean foot!” Honu panted as he fled as far as his body could go. He stopped, resting his back against the tree. The boy thought. “How did I know her?” He scratched his head and then he got an idea. Pulling his backpack over, he dug for the kanohi he found. It still gleamed in the weak sunlight. “I guess this must be hers, but what does it do?” Suddenly, he snapped in alertness as a lone Rakhshi jumped from above and onto the floor, several yards close to him. It snarled as it hissed, looking at the kanohi, “Massssk! Give it to mee!” Honu trembled in fear, but he managed a word, “No.” “Then you must ssuffer the consequencessss!” The Lerahk lunged at Honu. The boy ducked as he ran from the frightening creature. As he ran for dear life, he thought and wished the other Toa can help him. Tahu…Pohatu…Gali…Kopaka…Onua! Help me! He met a wall of vines, created by the Lerahk. “Oh shoot!” He murmured. Honu was trapped. The Lerahk was closer. He clutched the mask until whiteness showed on his hands. “Please…." The mask glowed a purplish light… Ah, to be continued...Muwahaha! I think I have too much coffee for today. Yep, sah! Me too lazy to put the review link here, just click on the review links in the first 3 chapters... -------------------- Exercising freedom takes great responsibility. The Knock-Off
Suddenly the Lerahk screeched. It waved its staff around, trying to bat itself of flames. Then a gush of water extinguished the burning Rahkshi, which was followed by a huge clump of dirt and mud. The Lerahk hissed, causing the earth to turn a sickly green color. Along came a ball of granite rock whizzing through the air and knocked the enemy unconscious. Honu looked up and saw his parents minus Daddy Lewa. Tahu Nuva strode over to the unconscious figure and melted the staff in half. Then he grasped the spiked shell and ripped it off, revealing a green slug. Tahu Nuva brought it out of its safe body and flung it disgustingly onto the ground. It wiggled a bit before a pearly white foot stepped on it, creating a *squish* sound. Honu gave a sick face before Gali Nuva put her hands on her son’s shoulder. “It’s okay, son. That Lerahk will harm you no more. Honu?” “How did you guys know that I was in danger?” he looked into his mother’s eyes. Onua Nuva spoke out, “I heard your voice in my head.” “So did I.” Pohatu Nuva rubbed the back of his head. “I agree with both,” Tahu Nuva shrugged. “Me too,” Gali sighed. They looked at Kopaka, who was wiping the bottom part of his foot with a mossy puddle in the jungle. “I heard his voice,” he said coolly. “How about Lewa?” The Toa of Earth asked. Honu was still grasping the silver mask, “Lewa’s fighting a purple Toa.” “A purple what?” Pohatu couldn’t believe what he heard. “Pohatu Nuva,” Kopaka said, “You heard what he said. It might be the berserker Nuju was talking about. If it is the one to change Mata Nui, then we must be careful.” “Ah,” Tahu understood, “Berserker of Thunder. How lovely.” “Come on!” Honu cried out as he broke away from his parent’s grasp and pointed at the direction of the village. “Daddy Lewa won’t stay out for this long!” “OOOWWWWIIIIIEEEE!” The mad Toa slammed Lewa Nuva into another tree. Lewa Nuva barely rolled away by the oncoming scythe. “Geez! He’s tough.” Lewa panted, missing the Toa’s kick. The Toa’s weapon slapped Lewa’s rear end as he tried to get up. He skidded across his village, dazed. “Ow…” he was in deep pain inflicted by the mad Toa. He looked up and saw the angry warrior looming over him. One of its arms was missing, leaving the other to finish him off. “I do not understand. The imposter is of me, yet it isn’t.” Raiju was puzzled, but she didn’t put her guard down. She will never put her guard down, not for a second. For that mistake, it had caused her the loss of her mask and Mata-Nui’s downfall. She started to question the figure. Some of the present memories are starting to seep in slowly “Pray, are you a Toa?” Matau's words were heard. She paused her final assault on this greenish imposter. Her eyes were beginning to clear. “No…What if this mimic, this being, is also one of those six Toa that defeated Makuta? Would he be…?” The Toa paused, feeling the wounds and the scratches getting to her. Lewa groaned in pain. Suddenly, she was grabbed by the back and was held tight. Surprised, she slammed both of her feet on the toes and elbowed the figure in the gut. The red armored figure lurched back and fell down, clutching his stomach. “Dang! That Toa is tough!” Tahu gasped, avoiding a bolt of lightning. “Tough Toa of Thunder, eh?” Gali cocked her eye. “Lightning can shock water, but water can overpower lightning. Then…” Her aqua axes glowed a bluish color as she set them forward in front of her. A ball of water was beginning to form between the flat sides of the blades. Her concentration of the power had totally ignored the event around Gali. “How about a quake!” Pohatu smirked as he slammed his foot into the ground. The village floor splitted, but the Toa flipped in the air and kneed the brown warrior by the neck. Pohatu yelped in surprise as the Toa kicked him hard, jumped again, and landed on top of Onua Nuva. Onua looked up, but got another kick in the face so hard that his eyes dimmed into unconsciousness. As he slumped down, the Toa stood up and stared into the eyes of Kopaka. Hearing someone approaching behind, the Toa faced Tahu, his blades ready to fry. “You are injuring your own brothers and sister, Toa of Thunder. Stop this madness,” The Toa of Fire said sternly. The Toa glared at both of the enemies. Kopaka said in a whisper, “Are you mute to answer, or are you deaf to understand what is wrong with this picture.” Seeing the boy at the edge of the forest, holding a silvery mask she clearly recognized, the Toa dashed towards him, but was intercepted by Tahu. “Why must you run away? Are you trying to run away from your problems?” his fiery gaze drove into the confused eyes of the Toa. Screaming inaudibly with frustration, she took a quick swipe at Tahu’s head, but it was immediately intercepted by a clash of his magma blades. Electric energy coursed throughout her body, which was a great mistake. Splooosh! The next thing the mysterious Toa knew was that she was drenched with water caused by Gali’s attack. Her functions short-circuited and she reeled back in total shock. Pains erupted from the past battles and her scream of agony was left unheard, for she was mute. “I can’t…I don’t know…this world is so different…and those imposters... are they my family?” Whack! Thunk! Tahu lunged forward and gave a kick at the Toa’s face. The head was kicked off its neck and it fell lightly to the ground. The rest of the body collapsed on itself and the soft, yellow eyes dimmed into unconsciousness. Honu looked at the mask in his backpack and brought it out. Then he eyed the limb that was thrown into a ruined hut. The weapon held was sharp with decorative lightning streaks. As he walked over to it to pick it up, he heard his two parents bicker. “Tahu! You killed her!” Kopaka growled. “No I didn’t.” Tahu coolly stated, “I just dislocated her head.” To Be Continued. Well, I've managed to piece this one up after my computer crashed, deleting this story. u.u It's a long time I've finally posted up a chapter in this fic. *looks at previous chapter*...a very long time. The Explanation
Honu sat quietly inside Turaga Matau’s hut, watching the head of the Toa. He was waiting for it to wake, so he can show it the Kanohi he found. The boy cleared his throat and talked to the head. “Well, hi um…Toa. My name is Honu Konugatawatu. It’s a long name, but it’s from every part of my parents. It felt funny to have six parents, but I don’t mind. You can be my auntie.” Silence. “So, where are you from? Ta-koro? Ko-Koro? Ga-Koro? No, wait. I don’t think you like water very much. Yet I hope you can meet and be friends with Gali. She’s my only mother and would be happy to have you as a friend.” More silence. “Um, the rest of the Toa are trying to patch up your body. I can’t believe that you can survive a missing arm, a horde of Rahkshi, and your head knock out of your neck. You must have been strong to also take on my parents. They are tough to beat, ya know.” “Yo monkeyboy Honu!” Lewa strode into the hut, carrying the bandaged body of the Toa of Thunder. He was also covered in some ointment and dressings, mostly in the rear end. “Are you done talking to the head? We’ve got the body fixwell.” Honu laughed and joked, “I’ve been telling her how handsome you were.” “Oh really? You think that the Toa’s a female? I mean, that Toa packs quite a punch.” Lewa laid the body onto the soft floor of the Turaga’s hut, wincing from the throbbing pain in his butt. The rest of the Nuva were at the medical hut, chatting with Matau. “I believe so.” Honu confirmed. “How about a bet? If the Toa’s a female, I’ll give you a free dinner at Ga-Koro. If the Toa’s a male, you’ll get your own food.” The albino grinned, “Deal.” Kopaka came into the hut. Honu asked, “Whatcha doing in here?” “Gali told me to reconnect the Toa’s head. I think Tahu should do it because he did take off that poor being’s head, but he’s a fool trying to repair biomechanical beings. So, I have to do it.” The silent Toa carefully took the head off its rest and sat next to the body. Kopaka fitted the head to the body with care. It snapped into place as he pinched out wires from the stump of her neck and linked them to the base of the head. In a few minutes, the yellow eyes slowly opened and they stared into Kopaka’s icy blue eyes. Then the face made a frown and tried to get up. Lewa Nuva limped over to the form, “Woah ho! Lay down! You’ve taken things tough. Resthappy. And are you female?” A PO’ed look was on the Toa’s face. Lewa back off, “I hope I didn’t offended you.” “Aw, dad. She’s just mad. What she really needs is her Kanohi back.” Honu pushed his father away and approached the lying figure. The Toa stared at the boy, surprised. “Can’t she talk?” Kopaka whispered to Lewa. Lewa answered, “Maybe she’s just shy.” Honu kneeled down next to her face and set the Kanohi over it. In an instant, the mask glowed as it clicked, showing a deep violet color. Then the silvery mask changed into the purple color with several stripes of neon green on it. Kopaka, Lewa, and Honu heard a gasp in their head. The Toa on the ground smiled with satisfaction of obtaining one of her Kanohi and said, “I thank you.” Honu looked at Lewa, snickering, “I won the bet.” Kopaka sighed, shaking his head. “What am I doing here with a bunch of immature people…?” The Toa looked up at the white Toa with menace in her eyes, “You dare call Raiju immature? Right about now, I would’ve sliced you in half if my weapons are here.” She started to grope around her sides. “Well, we apologize. Because of your earlier hostility, we kinda confiscated your weapons temporarily so you wouldn’t harm anyone if you become mad.” Lewa edged away from the lying Toa. A wave of shock rushed through Raiju, but she relaxed, “I understand.” Then Tahu strode into the room. He stopped, looking at the Kanohi on Raiju’s face, “How did you get that mask?” “My Kanohi Hikaru? That Honu found it.” She pointed at the boy. “You are female?” “Last time I checked, yes.” Raiju snorted in annoyance. Then she recognized him, “Wait a minute. You’re the one that decapitated my head!” “Geez,” Tahu looked to the side. “They’ve always blame it on the leader. It wasn’t my fault, really. My temper got the better of me.” “It wasn’t your temper this time,” Kopaka leaned silently against the wall. “It was your stupidity.” “Kopaka?” Tahu muttered as he sat next to his son. “…” The Toa of Ice faced him. “I hate you.” Tahu glared. “My name is Raiju, Warrior of Thunder.” She began her tale as the rest of the Toa sat around her bed. Gali spoke up. “Don’t you mean Toa of Thunder?” “You may call me that, but I am different.” “How so?” Onua asked with a white bandage wrapped around his mask and head. “Didn’t I just nearly kill you all?” Raiju breathed heavily. They were all quiet. “Well, I will continue. All I know is that Mata Nui created this peaceful island. He walked in this very jungle, imagining and thinking about his creations. He created the small people. Then he decided that these small ‘Matorans’, as you call them, need guidance, so village elders were appointed. All was at peace until Makuta came. Mata-Nui sensed that he needs a protector, so I became his creation. Although I am his creation, he had treated me like a daughter. I am strong enough to take on almost every obstacle and rise triumphantly. I have many personalities. I have the masks of Telepathy, Teleportation, Balance, and even the Noble Mask of Telekinesis. Even though I have awesome powers, I have suffered several drawbacks.” “And they are?” Kopaka shifted his position in his small chair. “For Mata-Nui did wanted my voice, my wisdom, to be heard into people’s minds, I became mute and spoke though Hikaru. Makuta attempted to destroy Mata-Nui because of his jealously for his brother’s success with life. He knew that Mata-Nui cannot be destroyed in spirit and heart, and he knew that I would be near my father to protect him and the life on this island. Then my personalities started to clash and overwhelm me. That is when Balance kicks in. It causes my feeling to settle down. Makuta ambushed me and took away Kami, Mask of Balance. Then I lost myself to my mood swings. Then I’ve tried to fight…” her voice broke off into silence. Honu noticed that she was very miserable. “And you lost?” Gali Nuva added. “I-I…it’s just that…after I lost him…I lost everything…” Lewa looked at the tears starting to bulk from her eyes. Then Raiju nearly fell off her bed, but her head rested at the lap of a nearby Toa that was sitting adjacent to the headrest. The purple Toa closed her eyes, shaking off her haunting memories. “Well, then, we’ve might as well start the search now while Raiju sleeps,” Tahu got up. The others nodded except Kopaka, who had Raiju’s head on his lap. “No… That is not possible.” “And why not?” Onua looked at her. Raiju’s eyes were still closed. “Finding these masks are not very easy. Only the servants of Makuta have them in their hearts, their souls. I know every trick Makuta can do.” “Gee, your situation is getting complicated by the minute,” Pohatu whistled. Raiju chuckled a bit, “I am the source of all complications.” “So how did Hikaru showed up?” Lewa questioned. It was quiet for once. Maybe a little too quiet… “Wait a minute,” Honu asked, “Didn’t you destroyed that Lerahk?” “I beheaded the vile creature yes.” Raiju gave a satisfied nod. “Then I found the Kanohi buried in the ground. Then Lewa screamed like a girl after I found it, and discovered the carcass.” Onua Nuva looked at Lewa with his eyes cocked, “You screamed like a female?” Lewa choked and then whined a bit, “Eh…heh.” “So the first mask was a lucky shot for Raiju,” Gali looked at the Toa of Thunder. “I guess it was… I must get Kami. I worried that I might end up killing one of you.” Kopaka reassured her, “You might try, like Lewa and his krana, but you will fail.” “What?! Are you telling me that the entire army of Lerahk’s been destroyed?!” “Hisss….Mata-Nuuuuii’sssss daaaauuuggghhhhttteeeeeerrr…alllll Goooonneee…” “Grr…be off! Raiju’s supposed to be dead! Find the rest of your brothers and then report to me.” “Yessss…. faaaaattheeeeerrr…” The wounded survivor quietly limped off. “I have noticed that you have quite a problem.” A short, dark figure blended neatly against the darkness. “You! You told me that duplicating my sons would wipe out those toa!” the red eyes changed into serpent-like slits. “I have cloned and given them the elements just for you to get that boy.” “What is a boy to me, man? Is he worth more than the toa?” “He has the power to obliterate you if he uses it well. I have searched far and wide to hunt down that angel blood. Remember that Makuta. The boy’s a threat. You must capture him alive and bring him to be. Maybe I can make him destroy the toa.” The figure revealed his face in the dim light. The low glow cast creepy shadows on his face, but he was clearly recognizable. He was a human, of course, but he was the one who killed the angel’s biological father. To Be Continued. I had to hurry and put up this chapter before going to some SAT camp. oO. Gee, I'm nearly fifteen and I 've to go to some camp where we sit next to a campfire shooting out vocabulary words... XD (J/K) I'm just going to San Francisco to that camp and maybe get a Tahnok-Kal set to play with. I wonder if they allowed toys in the room... Well, here's the Review Topic.
