I know it’s a bit late but I just had an inspiration. I’m sure you guys understand biggrin.gif also in this story Jaller doesn’t come back.

Remembrance of a Friend

Takanuva’s eyes were glazed as he stood near the spot where Jaller sacrificed his life. Not for anyone else but for him…because Jaller was his friend.
Matoran rushed by and the gusty wind whipped around him but Takanuva was undeterred by the Distractions, deep in a reverie of painful memories.
He heard someone step behind him. He quickly tried to wipe his tears off but he heard a soft, comforting voice.
“It’s ok Toa Takanuva, sometimes I cry too.”
Takanuva turned around and saw Hahli with a somber expression on her face. She kneeled down and touched the spot where Jaller took his last breath.
“Sometimes I come here too…just to remember what happened more clearly. Even though the memories are painful there is something special about how Jaller risked his life all for the love of a friend that touched my heart.”
“Mine too Hahli, Mine too.”
Hahli and Takanuva turned around to see Gali whom quickly reached out and touched Takanuva’s face.
“Hahli is right…it is alright to cry. Sure it might embarrass you to cry but I know that all of us cried at one point. Even Tahu, although he has a fiery temper has a soft side and he broke down after he returned home. Who else was going to wake him up in the morning by whapping him with a Kolhii stick. Not anyone but Jaller, Takanuva.”
“Why are you talking about me Gali, I TOLD YOU TO KEEP THAT SECRET!”
They looked and saw the infamous Tahu walking up to the site.
Tahu, although his face was gruff appeared to be less fiery than he usually was.
Tahu moved face to face with Takanuva and spoke in a voice that was quite unlike him. It had caring, compassion and was unlike Tahu at all to speak this way.
“Brother, I know we all have had some hard times but remember…Jaller will always be with us in our hearts. He knew he loved us and we loved him all the same. I know he isn’t here with us right now but if he was, he would be encouraging you to move forth with your life and remember him without pain.”
“Thank you Tahu…I will remember that,” Takanuva whispered.
“It was not a problem Takanuva but please move on…it makes my heart ache with pain to see you like this.”
All of the surrounding people gasped. Why was Tahu speaking like this?
Tahu sighed and looked up at the sky. “Brothers and sisters…you know I have a hot temper and my personality isn’t that great…but believe me I do have a caring side and it does hurt me to see my brother this way. I love my brother and I try to see him as happy as I can. I wish I could help him but I know the past is over and the future is here.”
Takanuva stared at his brother. He cared about him.
“All of us do Takanuva”
Takanuva gawked at Gali. “How did you know what I was thinking?”
“When a Creature knows another creature so well…there is a bond between them that connot be broken by the forces of evil. That bond is called love and believe me almost everyone surrounding you and everyone in the island of Mata-Nui has one with you.”
Takanuva looked at Hahli and saw her nodding, then he looked at Tahu and saw him nod with a smile on his face.
Takanuva smiled with tears in his eyes. “Thank you my friends for showing me the true power of love”

And with that…THE END!!
Please comment I think the story was good even though I am the author. It’s my first one so please comment.

Wow! That was touching. I do feel sorry for Takanuva. You did a great job of describing everyone's emotions toward Takanuva. I always knew Tahu had a soft side. You should write somemore, you are a good author...

That was excellent! I take it this took place between the final battle with the Rahkshi and the final battle with Makuta. I never thought about how there would be a reasonably long time to mourn before he came back. very touching, soul stirring.

This is your first?! Let me tell you something. I think I improve with every new story I write. My first stories were shallow dimensioned and in my opinion almost worthless, but what a great start you have already! Your talented without a doubt. . .

Actually Tovnu this took place after Mata-Nui was resurrected (notcie the Matoran Running Everywhere) but before the battle works too. Tanks for the compliments and I think you're a great writer too smile.gif

Wow...I'm glad you PMd me to read this. biggrin.gif

This was...very moving indeed. I like the way it almost flows from one passage to the next. A river of tears metaphorically speaking. Interesting how we both see Takanuva as the most sensitive of all the Toa. I particularly like the 'reverie of memories' line. Excellent job, Soul Caliber ll! I shall read some more of your stories, when I get the time. smile.gif

Very touching! And this was your first? You've got talent, kid! laugh.gif I almost cried, but I'm at school, so it would be...unappropriate. rolleyes.gif

Anyway, I'll try to read any other stories you write. Well, type. Whatever.

Wow, good short! I really like how you described how everyone felt. I like how for once Tahu isn't hated by everyone, 'cause a lot of stories are like that now. I think you should try and write a bit longer stories, since by what you showed me, you are ready. Keep it up!

bahrag1.gif Wow! Great fic! bahrag1.gif
Me: I should put this in my sig, I say it so often, but: Ignore the Bahrag. I wouldn't let them have their own account because they would SPAM, Flame and Dp so much.
ON TOPIC: A wonderful and touching story. I love how it goes deep and you can see Takanuva's thoughts as clearly as if you were thinking them yourself. I was going to write a story like this for a long time, but it would be a pale shadow; a pitiful copy in comparison to your masterpiece. The two things I would change are:
Be a Little more carful On your Captilization, it makes Stories a bit Choppy to read.
This is only something I would do (and I'd probably make a complete cool dude(yes, that was intentional) out of myself in the doing of it: Put all Toa in it. I mean, if you don't have a Toa, perhaps like Kongu or something... You can just ignore that.
Well, back to the other things I like, I love how you show up Tahu's sensitive side and you can make it sad and serious, but still put a little humor in (the Kolhii stick comment). Also, it is wonderful for both people who like Jaller being brought back and those who don't, since, like Tovnu said, it could come before Takanuva defeated Makuta or after. A simply beautiful work. I shall put this in the "Other Members epics" section of my Story Topic. A touching story that deserves more fame than it has recieved. May it get that richly deserved award.
