You can host a picture on Brickshelf, and look at the Ref. Desk for sig guidelines.

Well, there's one thing I know. You can only post at least 10 images on your sig and post.

There is no SPECIFIC signature limit. I keep mine down to 1 large 468/60 pic and one small emoticon sized pic. Other than that I keep it to writing. As Dimensioneer said, a good rule to follow is "If your sig is longer than your average reply-then it is too big." happy.gif

Hope that helps!

Here's a cut directly from the Ref Desk:

BZPower Signature Guidelines

Signatures will be no longer than 5 lines.

Signatures may contain an image, but they can be no larger than 250x100 and you are only allowed 1 image in your sig. An exception to this is if you have multiple small images, but collectively they do not exceed the 250x100 dimension limit. Or....

You may have a banner-sized image with the dimensions of 468x60 or smaller.

The only exception to this 1 image rules is if you have a banner from the official BZP quiz. If you include a BZP qiuz banner in your sig, you may also add another image that falls within the guidelines.

Also, images that are exceptionally large in filesize (not dimension) should be avoided, as they slow the loading and scrolling of pages, particularly for those who do not have broadband access.

-P.S.-You can also host your sig pictures on places like Brickshelf and Geekshelf!

This is also kind of a rule

Your sig/avatar/both cannot be a file size over 100k (100000 bytes)

BTW IF YOU DIRECT LINK AVATAR OR SIG IMAGES YOU LOSE 25 POSTS

Just to clarify what that means (cuz i know there'll be people who dont know) when you put your custom avatar in, it CANNOT be taken directly from a website, (for example seveneleven.com) you must have it on an image hosting site, brickshelf is a good one to use. By the way, DO NOT take it directly from BZPower.com, thats a big no-no.

If that wasnt clear enough, could a Mod edit my post so it is?

Heya! You did the right thing starting this topic...
Cause -- for example -- your current sig is too large, at 500x80.
It's a nice sig, but it still has to be no larger than either 468x60 or 250x100. But you can't combine the size limits (ex: 300x100).
It's just a little too wide and tall to meet these guidelines.
(To find your sig's properties, just right-click on the sig and select "Properties.")

Lucky you came here for advice!

Here are the sizes for the sigs for you to see:

250x100...
user posted image

and

468x60...
user posted image

The sig images my be that big, or smaller. You can not combine sizes. If you want to have more than one pic the size must be smaller than 250x100 combined. If they choose the banner size image it must be one image only.

Also, as staed above your sig and avatar must not be over 100kb combined. You can tell the size of your pictures by looking at the info when they are on your computer. It tells you the filesize of them.

Also direct linking is very bad. See this topic to learn more about direct linking and why it is bad and against the rules.

Mark
