I was just wondering... I have seen some Mods sometimes only write about three lines, and I was wondering why they don't lose proto for spamming, cause it might make a bad example for others...( Don't get mad, I'm just wondering!)

Mod=Moderator.
It seems pretty self-explanatory. A moderator is someone who, over an extended period of time, has proven himself qualified to assist in managing this message board. They earned a full PE bar through their actions and conduct.

If you're referring to short posts, such as "Moving to Theories" or "Topic closed," that's their job. And sometimes, there's little need for extensive posts. There's nothing else to say there ... simple as that.
I haven't seen the mods spamming -- and I don't think we're going to. ;-)

Ninjo hit the nail on the head.

A Mod has earned the full proto bar because they've proven themselves able to handle the job of being a mod.

And those "short posts" that you see most commonly are "Moving" or "Closing" posts that don't require a long drawn out post.

But I will tell you, Mods aren't exempt from punishment. Back on Jan 1st when the contest was getting underway...a handful of members got a little spam happy waiting for the BBC Contest to start. All the members involved (which included a few Moderators) were punished with post deductions.

So we aren't exempt from punishment.

Yeah, I thought I saw some members spamming, actually, I was tracking all of binkmeisters posts, just to see what he does, I think he might be a good role model, and I saw some spam, but let me tell you, people make mistakes, and beleive me, don't look up to me as a role model because I am not that good of one, I am always making mistakes, I don't like it when I spam, because I am usually not thinking, I am just so anxious to get to the next rank, but I don't care about post count, at all, and that is probably one of the only thing you should role model after me, but man, those rank images are attractive. rolleyes.gif Well, I kinda got off a bit, but I hope no one considers this spam, sorry! smile.gif

and T-Hybrid just finished putting the nail in. Moderators have proven that they have been extremely good members and three lines is still a pretty big post but not to go into that too much. as the good moderators said there isn't any reason when locking a topic to say

"Locking. I ate a jelly sandwich." There's no reason for that biggrin.gif

Yup. Since you asked the question in Q&A ... you betcha. ;-)
#1. Your sig is too large.
#2. Both your sig and avatar are direct linked.
So ... you might wanna make some changes.
(There's a topic about direct linking further back in Q&A ... perhaps you could check that one out for more info.)
Direct linking rules
And also...
BZP Reference Desk: Signature Guidelines
- - -
Do you know how to check? Just right-click on the image, and select "Properties." The sig's dimensions should be either 250x100 or less, or 468x60 (a banner). And the combined file size of your sig and avatar should be less than 100kb.

Unless the avatar was just changed, thats one of the pre-installed avatars, which, when used as an avatar, should be directly linked to the BZP image.

Of course. Right after I posted, E-M-N changed his avatar to the pre-installed Makuta av -- and he just changed it again.
But yes ... it was originally DL'ed from Lego.com. smile.gif
