Who decides when and where a new moderator comes?
Like, say, in some twisted freak of fate I was appointed a mod. Would I mod GD because that's where I am most active?
Do the mods vote in themselves the next mod? If not, would that be a good idea?
Why does someone tell me why my "brilliant ideas" would cause mass chaos (like elections.)

Rich (Bionicle Rex) picks you. You don't have to send you're name but you can. He asked me if Games Movies and Software would be ok and I said yes.

If we had polls:

1) Polls would be biased and people would vote for friends
2) Wrong people could be elected
3) Mass cheating
4) Responsibility only people who help out and have a good knowledge of the forums get picked. It only happens once in a blue moon, though a little while ago 5 staff were picked in quick succession

Tis true. Another thing that comes into play is the amount of Proto points one has. The more you help BZ Power, the more points. Working together with others as a good member here will eventually make you a moderator.

Also, in a chat I had with Astro Al a while ago, my Canadian buddy told me that one day, for no apparent reason, Bionicle Rex asked him to be moderator of the Art and Completley Off Topic forums. Al didn't even think about being a mod until asked, which shows another good trait of a BZP mod: mods who are chosen usually do not ask to be a mod!

Oh well, wish I had high PE. I seriously do help out whenever I can, and go out of my way to help, but it just isnt enough, is it. Oh well, I applied to the list of people-who-wish-they-were-Mods-but-never-will-be-picked-in-a-million-years just two days ago, just to show B-Rex that I am interested. Lol. Sad, isnt it. I'll try anything to help people, i really will.

I'm with Sesshie. Deadalus, RapToa, all you 'I-would-like-to-be-mods reading this topic' I'm sure your day will come if you work hard enough towards it. And ten to one, it'll be when you're least expecting it.

And Nuva Kaita, that's very true what you said about elections. I am strongly against them as well. Too much politicking can go on, and politics have a notorious reputation in bringing out the worst in people.

It is not so important to me, about if I can become a Mod. I more prefer I start out with Support Member, if Bink really want me to become a Mod.

Anyway, what's the meaning of 'helping BZP'? I doesn't quite understand it.

About the submitting an "application" to be a mod (or ST for that matter) I don't think B-Rex really uses that much...He just picks. Correct me if I'm wrong.

He does have a "List" but he usually picks people he KNOWS will do a good job in a certain forum. Rich hasn't made any mistake in choosing a moderater yet, and I seriously doubt he ever will because he really knows what he's doing. It also depends on your attitude... If you act too confident, and treat other members like low animals then you ain't gettin no where bud.

thing is BR doesn't pick ST members, Mfuss does. and i think Mfuss just picks too.

Well, I obviously don't know, but I guessing that if there is some one that he thinks is a mod candidate he can check the list, and if the person is on the list I think that might help with the descision.

All ST members go through B-Rex's OK first, but I meant in my post that general submissions for these posistions are not only what the Admins look for.
