Ok, so I'm not a new member. But something wierd happened to my PMs. I concerns the update. Yes, I know they got deleted. But anyway, on my birthday (few days back) I made a special storage folder for birthday greetings. This folder got deleted, and so did the three PMs in side of it. But according to my message space meter [Thingy], I still have three messages left. I've COMPLETLY wiped out my inbox and sent items. And I've comfirmed that the folder is gone. So now I've got 3 PM ghosts hanging around my box, taking up space, but not existing. I think other people (if any) may also have problems with special storage folders. Please reply.

Intersting. I have a 39% full PM box, but only about 6/7 messages in both. Weird.

I deleted all my pms and what I sent but when they were all gone.When I looked around it said I have 7pms still or what I sent.I dont get it either.

I dont think the problem you have is all that uncommon. PM ghosts have been around a while. I don't know if there is a way to get rid of them, but then again, I'm not a Mod.

I find if you go over the limit of storable messages, it doesn't cut you off. however, it takes the number of messages you went over 200 and adds it to your percentage when you delete all the messages. I don't think they go away.

Wow, a lot of quick replies. So anyway, I'm stuck with extra messages taking up my space, but they no longer exist. And no, I never went over 200 messages...

well maby this will help at the buttom of the pm thing when you sent pms uncheck add copy of this to my sent maggse and that has hopend to me to wierd.

Meh, I have that too, over 10% of my inbox is taken by them.

I've had the same problem. I've cleared out my entire Inbox yet it tells me I still have thirty-something messages left over. This has happened before, and I fixed it.. just can't remember -how-.

Maybe you have to delete your cookies to get rid of those ghost messages. I could be wrong..
But those ghost msgs have never showed up on my inbox/sent pms. unless i haven't checked yet..

There's no such thing as a ghost of a PM.

Your PM inbox is calculated each time you enter your BZPower Control Panel by searching the PM database for messages belonging to you.

What you must keep in mind, though, is that this total consists not only of messages you've received, but also message that have been saved in your "Sent Items" folder as well as any other folders you may have.

The most common problem I see is members not realizing that while their inbox is empty, their sent items folder is still accumulating copies of outgoing messages, thus reducing their available free space for messages.

Try this, and I bet you'll find the ghosts are gone.

I just deleted all my messages (yes, in my inbox AND my sent items--and I have no extra folders) and it still says "your message folders are 8% full. go figure. anyway, it doesn't seem to effect my accont, so whatever.

Ok;here is what you do,First,you Input Your PM
folders in the Edit Folders in your control panel.Then
you check the folders you put the pm's in.You should
find the PM Ghosts.if it doesent work,i will edit this post.

Snuffles, I just looked in the database and saw that you had about 8 messages in your sent folder. I killed a few and now show that you have four.

See how that impacts your stats, and if you can see the four that I see.

That was my first try. They didn't vanish. I guess I need to call the PMbusters.

I've got a fix if you had extra storage folders. What you have to do is recreate those stroage folders. What happens is after you recreate it the "Ghost PM" will pop up and you will be able to delete it. I just did this so if you don't beleive me try it.

Thanks for telling us Dimensioneer! I had this problem, I had over 100% messages that I deleted, still hanging there. Then D told us, now I have 0% full! Thanks.

I too am haunted by 3 ghost PMs that do not appear in my folders. I think they're the ghosts of PM Past, PM Present, and PM Future. Or just 3 PMs that are no where to be seen.

Wow,i never had this problem before.Proable cause i always delete both my recived and sent messages.

I have a message that keeps on popping up that says entitled**. I read it and it says that it does not exist.

Im sorry to argue but I deleted them all and now I cant find the pms im missing

No, wait. I just had the same problem. Because of the administrative error, your 3rd folder got wiped out. Or so you thought. Try to recreate the 3rd folder. Don't worry, your PMs are still there.

EDIT: Just to tell you, I had 27 PMs in a folder I created, "Saved PMs". But after the admin error, it was gone, and my inbox & sent items were empty. But I still had 27 PMs, so I re-created the S-PMs folder, and vola(sp?)! There they were! if you have any other problems, just drop me a PM.
