After the latest updates on bionicle.com, I was anxious to speak with Jala and Takua about the liberation of Ga-Koro and the theft of Tahu Nuva’s symbol. I called them in Ta-Koro.

Interview with Jala and Takua

GaliGee: Thanks for talking with us, Jala and Takua. We were really amazed at your heroism in Ga-Koro.

Takua: Aww, shucks.

Jala: Just doing our j-j-job, GaliGee.

GaliGee: Of course, the first thing we want to know is this: Takua, what were you thinking when you jumped in front of those Pahrak in Ga-Koro?

Takua: I wasn’t really thinking. I just went with my gut feeling. I couldn’t bear to see the people I loved being terrorized by those monsters. And then, I had this vision, from Gali, I think. It wasn’t very clear, but I saw the Toa surrounding these two hideous, snapping creatures, and blasting them with their elemental powers. It seemed like the right time to act.

GaliGee: So you didn’t know what would happen?

Takua: No, but I had faith it would work out, somehow. I figured it would at least slow them down, and buy our people some time. Boy, was I relieved when the Pahrak stopped. I looked back, and there was a beam of light shooting out of Gali’s Suva. And I knew the Toa had won.

GaliGee: Well, it was very brave of you to jump into harm’s way, without even knowing what you would do!

Jala: Yes, he was brave. I launched him, but I d-d-didn’t know what he would do, either.

GaliGee: So, Jala, how is having the Boxors going to change your military strategy?

Jala: It really gives us a lot more to work with. We were just winging it, with the Bohrok attacks. And we know they have some limitations. No Boxors in Ga-Koro! Or in the dense j-j-jungle. They’re really awesome in the other v-v-villages, though. The Turaga and I plan to go over some new strategies soon.

GaliGee: So, tell me about the theft of Tahu’s Nuva symbol.

Jala: It was awful! We had a lovely j-j-journey back from the sunlit joy of Ga-Koro. And I was feeling physically tired, but inside I was rested and calm. So, I s-s-set off on my rounds. And Takua, bless his heart, he came with me, even though he must have been tired, too. But when I saw the electrified guard, I was shocked!

Takua: Bad pun, Jala.

Jala: What pun? Oh, sorry. Then I realized there was a Bohrok next to the Suva! Now, even when they are tame, you still have to keep an eye on the Bohrok. They r-r-really can’t be trusted. So, I hurled my disc. But that didn’t bother it at all.

Takua: He knocked me out of the way and took the blast himself. What a great guy.

Jala: Yeah, well, it was my t-t-turn to jump in front of a Bohrok, I guess.

Takua: We heard great Toa Tahu’s footsteps approaching, and we were relieved. What’s one lousy Bohrok against the Toa Nuva of Fire? You guys haven’t really seen him in action much yet, but let me tell you, he has got some kind of power now. He’s like a walking volcano. As hot as the heart of the Mangai.

GaliGee: Wow. You must have been very surprised when his powers failed.

Jala: Not p-p-pleasantly surprised! We f-f-figured he would vaporize the renegade Bohrok, and after the burning metal smell went away, everything would be b-b-back to normal.

Takua: The creature started blasting rocks out of the doorway. They started falling over Toa Tahu’s head, and he laughed. But when he raised his swords to shoot fire at it, nothing happened – just a wimpy little wisp of smoke coming off the tip of each magma blade. I’ve never seen Toa Tahu look like that. Puzzled, confused… well, I guess he looked kind of like that when he first saw Makuta as a Matoran. But it doesn’t happen often.

GaliGee: Why didn’t Tahu use his Hau Nuva to block the falling rocks?

Jala: Well, he did eventually, after he g-g-got over the shock of losing his powers, and after he was slammed to the ground.

GaliGee: That must have hurt.

Takua: I think he was more hurt inside than out. He was really horrified that he had no way of protecting us villagers anymore.

GaliGee: Yes, protection seems to be his strong suit. Usually. Then what did he do?

Jala: Well, he got up, slowly, and w-w-went to see if the guard and I were all right. We were fine, once the Tahnok-K-k-kal left.

Takua: He says he’s fine, but he keeps twitching, GaliGee. I’m not so sure.

Jala: I AM f-f-f-f-f-fine. Then he stared at the Suva for a while. Then he got ready to go find the other Toa. He conferred with V-v-vakama for a few m-m-minutes, and then he left

GaliGee: You DO sound a little rattled, Jala. Maybe you should get some rest.

Jala: N-n-nonsense. I have more work to do than ever. Did you r-r-read Comic #10?

GaliGee: Of course. Why?

Jala: Because if the Kal s-s-s-s-s-s-succeed in releasing the Bahrag, the island is going to be c-c-covered with Bohrok Va, bringing new krana to all those Bohrok we so carefully t-t-tamed. And it’s going to be chaos again.

Takua: Yeah. We have to keep a close eye on things. But I know the Toa will prevail. Somehow. Even though those Kal are seemingly invincible, and the Toa have only their Kanohi powers. And apparently those aren’t very effective against the Kal.

Jala: Yes, they must. And we m-m-must do everything we can to protect the v-v-villages, in the meantime. We’ve tightened security around Ta-Koro, of c-c-course, and the Guard always helps with the others’ defenses, too.

GaliGee: I have faith in the Toa, too. And in you Matorans! Say, speaking of the other villages… I hear you made a new friend in Ga-Koro, Jala.

Jala [laughs nervously]: Oh, Hahli’s s-s-so cute! I n-n-never thought I would say that about anyone.

Takua: He looked nice with that flower in his mask, didn’t he?

Jala: Yeah, I was almost as c-c-colorful as you.

GaliGee: That was sweet. So, Takua, after the Bohrok defeat, did you ever get a chance to gaze at the stars with Nixie, the astrologer? I seem to remember she had invited you.

Takua: Yes, I did, but it wasn’t like I had imagined, because Nokama came along. We all went up to the telescope, and they spent about three hours looking through the telescope and reviewing the ancient writings. I just sat there, looking around. Mostly at Nixie.

GaliGee: What did you find out?

Takua: I don’t know. They kept talking to each other in some mysterious Ga-Koro dialect, and glancing at me. Then as we were leaving, Nokama took me aside. She asked me not to get involved with Nixie, since she didn’t want her astrologer to be distracted right now. There was too much important prophecy work to do.

GaliGee: Well, that’s disappointing.

Takua: I’ll say. She basically told me, in her polite Nokama sort of way, to get lost.

Jala: Like you n-n-need a Matoran girlfriend, anyway. You have a special b-b-bond with Gali!

Takua: Yeah, a lot of good THAT does me. I’m just a Matoran. Of course, sometimes I dream about being a Toa…

Jala [laughs]: Y-y-you and everybody else.

GaliGee: Takua, tell me about this dream.

Takua: Oh, I have it about once a week. I dream there’s a brilliant flash of light. I look down at myself, and I’ve been transformed into a Toa. I’m all metallic, with a gold mask. One I’ve never seen before. And I’m riding some kind of giant creature, very nimble and fast.

Jala: That’s g-g-great. Too bad you’ll never get to ride anything faster than Puku in real life, though.

Takua [sighs]: Yeah, it’s just a stupid dream.

GaliGee: But a very interesting one. Well, I’ll let you get back to your duties. Thanks for talking with us!

Takua: No problem, GaliGee.

Jala: You’re w-w-w-w-w-w-w… oh, n-n-never m-m-m-m…

GaliGee: Hope you feel better soon, Jala. Bye! [click]

Poor Jala. Maybe he needs to de-gauss himself. Anyway, there you have it, the latest from the fearless adventurers of Ta-Koro. This is GaliGee reporting.

P-p-p-oor Jala! He sounds like Professor Quirrell from 'Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.' No doubt he'd be like that though, after getting zapped by Tahnok-Kal. And I loved the fact that Jala unintentionally cracked a pun. smile.gif

LOL! That was one of the best lines in the interview! I love the description of Takua's 'date' with Notu! *giggles* Three hours looking at nothing but Notu and listening to Ga-Koronan dialects, he got majorly bummered. biggrin.gif

Sweet job as always, GaliGee!

PS: rcxmaster, that was indeed the English title. smile.gif

Another GaliGee original! I like saying that... Poor Jala, still suffering from electric shock, I see. So, Takua's having dreams about being a gold toa on a whale. *cough*Takanuva*cough* And his "date" didn't seem to work out to well, either. I didn't know Ga-koronans had their own language. Why would they need to use it around Takua, unless it was about him and his dream...

Jala: What pun? Oh, sorry.

That was the funniest part! I loved it! Big, serious Jala accidently making corny jokes. Hahaha. I can't wait to see what you come up with next!

Aw man, that must've really hurt... I think anyone would prefer a Tahnok Kal blast over that...
Oh, the interview, right! It's amazing how you follow up the Mata Nui events, GG, we're all glad you've got these scoops for us to read. Yet I hope Takua really does turn into the ToL, or you might have to change the interview.
Or not, as you could probably find a way to explain just about anything. That is the key to master writing...
I'm always amazed at how natural these interviews are, GG. Not that they're not real, of course... psychotwitch.gif

Aw, this was great. Perhaps Jala could use a couple of grounding wires until the electricity gets discharged? Heck, maybe all of Ta-Koro could use some.

But, seriously, that was cute. Especially the part about Takua and Notu's chaperoned 'date.' Great stuff.

Jala stuttering? blink.gif We're in trouble. rolleyes.gif
This was another very good interveiw, but I think that Takua should've dreamed about the "new" Matoran change instead. tongue.gif
But that's just me.
I think you should do Motoro and Kopeke next.

I love it! Love how Jala stutters, and his corny joke, and his little soft spot able to be found at Ga Koro, he he he . . . Don't tell him I said that. rolleyes.gif
And Takua, you've just got to admire him. Don't we all wish we could be like him? Too bad things didn't go so well on his little "date". I bet Nokama and Notu saw hints of his becoming a Toa (at least if he does become a Toa), and they fear him for that. Kind of like Tahu's first encounter with Matoran, misunderstanding perhaps?

sounds like jala really did get a little sizzled(still is too) ! looks like I'm not the only one who thought jala's a straightman!

feel sorta sorry for takua though... but at least nokama puts things politely for him though so good points for that...
hmm that dream of his though (nods wisely) maybe someones trying to tell him something? blink.gif

Ah well, good one GaliGee, but Jala, uh oh, well I got him to talk about Hahli and he's really steamed (ha ha) about it, so next I'm gonna start doing the keyboard banger with head.

you know GG, I think you should do interviews for all the villages. you can do Hahli and Maku from ga-koro, Naparu and someone else, (one of the ones who got stuck in the tunnel. can't remember who they were) Hafu and Huki and Ko koro? well nothing really happens there does it. no one can really be interviewed there about recent things.

oh yeah, that was absolutally brilliant! like other people, my favorite part was the unintentional pun Jala made.

Thanks, y'all! biggrin.gif

The pun WAS almost accidental! I was looking for a word... and I thought, oh, that's too corny, Jala wouldn't do that on PURPOSE... rolleyes.gif

kotawa, "Notu" is the name I made up for the astrologer from the MNOLG, since we don't know her real name. Yes, Nokama once again has a premonition about Takua's destiny. And I think she didn't want HIM to be distracted by a little thing like romance. Because you know Nokama wouldn't mind if one of her villagers was sweet on him, she really likes Takua. What's not to like? He's your everyday hero. smile.gif But of course I had to get a laugh at his expense first... sly.gif You can just see him, gazing wistfully at Notu, and wondering what the heck they are keeping secret from him.

And if Takua DOESN'T turn into a Toa in the MoL, I'll have to do a little editing, or maybe some fast talking, as SK says. ohmy.gif

Hoari, hope you're feeling better! huh.gif

R910, I can just see Nuparu showing up and rummaging through his backpack for his VA-meter... some wires... a couple of clamps... "Hold still, Jala, this might hurt just a little bit..." laugh.gif

Glad y'all enjoyed the interview! Next *drumroll*: The Bohrok-Kal!

I love it. I also like the part about Jala degaussing himself.
And if smilie_takua.gif and smile_tol.gif turn out to be separate entities, you can always say that it WAS only a dream.

Tsk Tsk Tsk, MAJOR revival, Toa of plastic.

Anyway, We now know Takua is NOT going to turn into Takanuva, so you might wanna edit that, GaliGee. Maybe you could have him dream about turning into His little "Advanced" form.

Not true...GregF keeps saying "I never said that Takua was the ToL...but I never said he wasn't." So we don't really know that. You should keep it the way it is for now. Oh, and I think heard somewhere that topic revival is semi-okay in this forum.

There's no such thing as an expiration date in the library, TK600, so don't worry about it. biggrin.gif

I'm waiting to see the movie... I may end up changing more than one story! ohmy.gif But that's life at the edge of the storyline. rolleyes.gif

I like how you hinted at Takua becoming the TOL and I also liked how Jala (Now Jaller) accidentally made a pun.

Ooh, better keep this topic alive. GaliGee, ya ever wonder what life would be like if your design was accepted and YOU were Gali??? Well, this is your best interview so far. Are you gonna interview Takanuva once MoL comes out? Maybe you already have...psychotwitch.gif

Takua: Bad pun, Jala."
