I was recently planning to build a Pokawi.  But when I scavenged through my Bionicle collection, I didn't find enough pieces to build one.  So...I made one in different colors.

And if the pic doesn't show up, go to Page 2 in my album.  The link is in my sig.  :)

 Whacha think?

Yeah, it's a bit blurry but I like the way the pic came out.  The feet were only dark grey from Nuparu.  :)

The eyes came from either the Tarakava or Jango Fett.  And the black Pahrak claw came from the Spybotics set Gigamesh.  :satisfied:

Huh?  You don't have enough pieces to build the official version, but you've got a pair of light-grey Technic balls to use as eyes?  Weird...

Anyways, you get two light-grey Technic balls in the Tarakava set or the Yoda sculpture, four in the Technic Jango Fett set, three in the Hogwart's Express (can't verify that last one personally...), and one in the Ewok Attack.  All told, if you buy one of every set in existence, you'd have twelve light-grey ones and about three times as many black ones.  More importantly, for those who buy sets just to get the pieces, Lewa Nuva will net you three black ones for about $2.66 each, the Bohrok Va will each get you one for $2.99, and Pohatu will get you two for about $4 each, while the cheapest source for the light-grey ones is Jango at about $7.50 each.

I would've made the original one, but I can't find Bohrok Va anywhere.    I plan to order them off of Lego S@H and make the official one.  :)

Do you live near a Walgreens?  I found 24 of each flavor at Meijer back in February, but they sold out in about a month, and the only place I've seen them since is Walgreens.  Even then, they don't keep many in stock at a given time, so checking with every store in your area on a regular basis is the only good way to track them down.  If you can't actually go there in person, try giving them a call.  I needed another green brain-pan to build the official Pokawi, and I had to stop at all three Walgreens in my town before I finally found a Lehvak Va.

I used to find them at local drugstores, but they sold out and never came back.  All I need for the real Pokawi is the red brain-pan, so I'll try to check a few Walgreens today.  :satisfied:
