This is the approved topic to post your set reviews in. Note that reviews that share images of new sets not widely available are an exception-- if you get ________ new set earlier than most (typically meaning no one else has posted their own photo review yet), then it'd be fine to make a new topic for it, so that everyone can more easily find pictures and ponder the newest set's beatuy.

Have fun reviewing your sets!
-----------------------------------

Okay, I'm going to review all the sets. It will be A - F, A being best and F being worst. Remember, these are just my opinions!
First, the Toa.

Kopaka- A

Very cool! He's got a sword and sheild, more weaponry than any other Toa. His sword is an intresting design, kind of like two swords hooked together. My favorite Toa of them all! He also has one of the strongest elements. I just wish he had a stronger mask, though.

Lewa- A-

Interesting design. The arm without the hatchet hangs kinda limp, though. The hatchet isn't the most interesting design, but still cool. It looks very much like it could be of great use in a jungle. The mask looks kinda like a bird's beak, which is fitting since he's the Toa of Air.

Gali- A-

The only female Toa! Her hooks would be useful in the water, but in a fight, they would be pretty useless. She has the coolest mask of all the Kanohi, though! She has a unique design, with both her hooks moving and a hip/shoulder joint instead of a chest ball.

Tahu- A

Very nice! His sword looks like real fire, though the tip is prone to being bent. He's oftentimes thought of as the leader, since he is more eye-catching than the other Toa. It makes a great fight between him and Kopaka!

Pohatu- B

The oddball Toa. He's also the most picked on. His only weapons are his feet, making it harder to get his feet high enough to knock of a mask. Of couse, it doesn't really matter because his native Rahi ( Nui- Jaga ) has his/her infected masks low...

Onua- B+

Strange design. He looks like a hunchback, with his head really low. He has one of the strongest masks, since it is the mask of strength. His claws look like they would be helpful in tunneling and in a fight. Cool, but not quite as cool as most of the other Toa.

Oh! another review to review!

Good job so far, but may I make a suggestion?
I think, if the individual reviews are so short, that you should group the toa, the nuva, the bohrok, etc into categories, reviewing them all at once.

Its just a suggestion. Keep on writin! biggrin.gif

Yes, at least do a complete set of items before moving on. I'll expect you to EDIT the Toa post to include the next four Toa... and then feel free to move on in another post.

You didn't insult me, S.S. Gohan. You can do the Tahnok if you want. If anyone else wants to review something, PM me!
Now, I'll do the Turaga.

Nuju- B+ - A-
He's...interesting. He looks like an elf with his mask on, due to the pointy things where the ears should be. His ice pick's not the most intresting, but I guess it's making up for Kopaka having a sword and shield. His mask's power is cool, with telekinesis and all.

Matau- A
My favorite Turaga! He probably has the most advanced technology out of all the Turaga, the Kau-Kau staff. I can see him cutting down vines too thick for Lewa to cut, or destroying some Nuhvok that attack his village! The only thing I'd wish they done better is naming. Matau's like Matoro, and Kau-Kau staff is kindof like the Great mask Kaukau.

Nokama- B+
She's okay, but not great. Her mask looks like an oval with waves going over it. Also, unless you stumble across ancient runes every day, her mask's not of much use. Her trident is cool, especially if you know Greek mythology ( Poseidon, god of the sea, had a trident) .

Vakama- A-
Very nice. His mask makes him look kind of like an anteater, but it doesn't matter, because it's the mask of invisibility! His firestaff looks cool, but that's where it ends: looks cool. It doesn't look like it could set something on fire without it being put out, and it's the only tool that's not exclusive ( Tahnok Va ).

Onewa- A
He's got the coolest mask around! He can control minds, useful on Tohunga. It also looks cool, kind of mechanical- looking. His hammer is kind of taken by the Pahrak Va, but theirs is sand colored and Onewa's is brown.

Whenua- A-
He is... short stuff! Okay, now that that's out, it's time to review. He has the Ruru, helpful when lightstone supplies run short. He has a really cool drill, which can tunnel quite well. The problem is availability. If you haven't gotten one by now, you may never get one, because LEGO sold out.

You forgot 2 things about the Turaga, may I?

Nokama: Her arms are exceedingly long; they almost touch the ground...

Matau: His head looks kind of strangem since it is attached in a different way. The Green piece juts forward and attaches to the back of his head instead of the bottom. This makes him look a bit shorter, but cool nonetheless!

peopel can do there own reviews. so far I have seen at least two reviews for the boxor. people have different opinions on the sets so that allows others to see things about certain sets that they may not have noticed before.

These reviews are pretty good. YOU GAVE LEWA AN A! YIPEEE!

May I make yet another suggestion?
Rate some newer and bigger sets. That way you'd have more to say and the reviews would be more than 5 lines long each. We all have well developed opinions on the Toa and Turaga, cuz they came out a few years ago.
Just a suggestion. I'd also like an sbd review in non bionicle. the sbd is cool.

I think what Muaka's Wrath is going to do is do all the sets in order. next he'll probably do the Rahi, then maybe the Mctoran, then the Bohrok, the Bohrok Va, The exo, the boxor, Cahdok and Gahdok then the Nuva. after that we'll have to wait for the new sets to come out before he can do the reviews.

That is what I think he'll do, but I ain't psycic so who knows?

Deadly Kanohi's right. I'll be doing them in order, but I won't review the Mctoran, since they are practicly identical, except they have different masks, different colors, and a different mask on their disk. And Saf, thank you for those things I forgot on the Turaga.
So now, the Rahi.
Nui- Rama- A-
Very insect- like. Their masks are awesome, transparent blue Rurus. However, their attack feature ( wings snap forward ) does not work too well on the Toa, because their wings are very flexible. If their wings were hard, they would probably work better. Your thumb also hurts after pushing the lever too much.

Nui- Jaga- A
Very nice. It looks so much like a scorpion, a scorpion would become friends with it before noticing it wasn't alive. I like the fact that they gave it a Pakari, making it seem stronger. That's good, because you have baby blue and purple Rahi, which don't seem too Rahi- like.

Tarakava- A
Interesting. It has one of the most simple yet powerful attacks. It's punchers are level with Toa's heads, making it easier to knock off a Toa's mask. It has a conveyor belt, but it gets stuck or falls off easily. Not much to say here.

Muaka & Kane-Ra- A
Cool! You finally get 2 really diverse things in a Rahi pack. Muaka's my favorite Rahi ( as my name shows ), because it's claws and snapping jaws. Kane- Ra is stranger, because he's only got teeth at the bottom.Their necks extend really far, making it hard for a Toa to get away. And if you want infected masks, It's got 2!

Manas- B+
Remote- controlled and overprice. $90? Way to much! Now disregarding the price, it's very good. It can trample a Toa, and if any came to the surface of Mata Nui, the Matoran and Turaga would be toast. Get them on clearance, and it's an A.
Remote-

Awaiting Authorization

So, NN, you're saying anyone can post a review here? Well then, here's Elzaban's Review of the Bahrag rtfm.gif

Set Name: Bahrag (Cahdok and Gahdok)
Grade: B - (or A -, see below)
Approx. Build Time*: 1 hour.

(This time is for 1 figure only. Note that this set has two figures.)

The Bahrag seem a bit like the Bohrok: fat, round, and armed with snapping head action. One could argue that they are nothing but oversized, overpriced Bohrok. I'm not that one.

Firstly, the Bahrag feature a trigger much like that of a gun. It has an easy to use trigger, and a butt to give you a better grip. Also, the Bahrag have a snapping jaw. Unfortunatly, it doesn't snap shut until you extend it to it's maximum, and even then, it is rarely able to pull of Kanohi, often ripping of entire heads or nothing at all.

One of the better qualities of the Bahrag is the snap-joint legs. The Bahrag need legs, as they would look terrible with wheels or treads, but they are too heavy too allow ball-joint legs. Thusly, snap-joint legs are perfect for the job. They alow bending near the hip, at the knee, and again at the ankle, which can also rotate. This gives a lot of possability to the legs, which more than makes up for the lack of posing in their T-rex style arms.

One of my least favorite parts of the Bahrag was the fact that they lacked a more general, obvious way of being 'disabled'. With the Toa, Turaga, Matoran, Rahi, and Toa Nuva, the Kanohi was their method of being defeated, and the Bohrok, Bohrok Va, and Bohrok Kal have Kranas to remove. Even the Rahkshi appear to have something to remove. But, alas, it is not so with the Bahrag. They require a piece of their chest to be removed, which actually disables them, totally stopping all use of the biting ability. One could say this was brilliant, a more debilitating weakness for a more powerful enemy, but I would say not. This piece requires a 'rip out' action to remove, where most of the other weaknesses on smaller sets merely required being knocked off. This riping action is found only in the Bahrag, Muaka and Kane-ra, and, if it's lucky, the Boxor. For Toa to defeat it, they either need a Boxor, or the storyline, both of which are not as fun to act out.

For people who like to take apart their sets and build custom creations, like myself, this set is very good. It provides several Bohrok torsos, feet, and arms. It also has unique blue/red Pahrak claws. Additional pieces that are useful in this set are: Dark grey shoulder/hip ball-joints (4), Dark grey/blue/red snap-joints (12 pairs), white Bohrok eyes (4), and white half-and-half friction pins (< 20). Thusly, from the perspective of someone trying to get a good toy and good pieces, I would give this an A -.

One thing I don't like about the Bahrag, is that they are such a big toy for something that showed up only momentarily in the storyline. Hopefully they get more storytime this year, but I wouldn't highly count on it.

So, if you do have the money, and you do want this set, then I suggest you purchase it, as it is still a good set, but personally, I partially regret the purchase.

-Elzaban the Ethereal, Critic at Large.

NN, if this is for anyone's rreviews, then I think that any posts here that are not reivews should be deleted for simplicity of reading. Thanks.

OK, i guess i will put all my reviews here now.

Toa review:
(as a whole, not individually)

THe box (can): Nothing major, just a pic of the toa, some internet codes and if you rotate the sleeve masks and stuff appears.

The set: Obviously eas yto build, these sets are really cool and are the centerpiece of a collection. All the connections are simple, and the instructions are easily memorized. No real special building experience, so not a big part. I have no big beefs with the toa, so this review wont be as critical as my others.

Buying Value: If you are into Bionicle, there is no reason why you should not own at least one Toa, at least 12 for a moc builder, and a real lot for a serious moc builder maybe like 36 (6 of each, a fair amount). the parts aer really the main moc parts. If you are a collector, one or two of each is fine, if you just like them because they look cool in the catalog, then just get your favorite and thats it.

Overall, i would give the Toa a 9,5/10, losing the .5 due to a non-major lack of originality.
Save your allowancce and buy some toa, there is no reason not to.

Wow! Pinned! I don't mind at all! Here's the next batch of reviews.

Bohrok

Gahlok- C+
*yawn* a Bohrok that looks like a fish. Yahoo. Not the best power either.

Kohrok- A
Cool! It's handsheilds look like they could actually do something! bigeek.gif It can freeze you in your tracks, literally! Sweeet! cool.gif

Lehvak-B+
U-G-L-Y you ain't got no alibi you ugly! Unsymettrical, it's hand sheilds look like tweezers... need I go on?

Tahnok- A-
Another cool handshield! All it is is the fact that the Krana looks weird on it, and it would look as good as the Kohrok!

Pahrak- B-
What happened to cool handshields? Not much to say here, except it's following the stone trend.

Nuhvok- B
It's handshields looks like 2 mini-drills! But light green? Nada. No. Uh-uh. Not going to happen.

Well I've got a boxor review

Grade: A

Price: well priced at $15.00(US)

Things of note: two instructions, a matoran, and some mask and krana charts in the back of the alternate instructions. Also has gray gali claws and a orange pakari

Set: First thing is the matoran. Nuparu sports a nice orange parkari, has gray feet, a black torso, and black arms. Next is the boxor. Ingenus set. the punching motion is done so simply by pushing down on the feet. The feet are very thin but hold the boxor up with no problem. Nuparu fits in it fairly well. Well paportiond and is lacking almost nothing. Looks like a jumbled bunch of peices but I think lego did this on perpose because it fits in the story line very well because the fact that nuparu asembled this with almost nothing. Job well done lego

i think i want to review the boxor as well smile.gif
ive wanted a boxor for a while, and when i got it, i was not disappointed at all!!

-BOX-
the box was interesting... harder cardboard than most sets, and the back had all the details of the set. it showed how to make the boxor punch, the top and side views, and the Tohunga character Nuparu it comes with. what puzzled me was that on the top of the box, it had 3 screenshots with WWW.BIONICLE.COM written over them. the first screenshot was the Krana info area, and the second was the Kohrak info page. But the 3rd one was like a screenshot of a game, not the Online Mata-Nui one, some other game...starnge...perhaps a new Online game smile.gif

-CONTENTS-
after ripping the box appart (which i literally did because it was sealed harder with the stronger cardboard tongue.gif) i dumped the contents onto my floor. It included:
3 Transparent Bags
2 Instruction Booklets
1 LEGO Brochure
2 LEGO Technic Pieces
there were 2 long pieces that were unbagged, but i guess its because they are so long that they werent put in the bags. anyway, there was the instrcutions for the cool boxor and there was instructions for the alternate model that was some sort of ape thing. i decided to build the Boxor first, because it was what i really liked better.
the brochure had a bunch of shots of the great 2002-2003 sets and at the back was one of those nice offers for 2 years free for the lego club, but im already a member, so i put it in my verrrrrrrrrry big stash smile.gif

-CONTENTS OF THE CONTENTS-
inside each bag were different pieces. the biggest bag had all the Bohrok torso pieces and some longer pieces. the medium bag had, well the medium pieces and the smallest bag had all the little connectors and stuff. i kept all of them in their bags during construction for organization, but i was tempted to dump them tongue.gif
the colour scheme of this is VERY similar to that of the Master Builder Set.

-NAPARU TOHUNGA FIGURE-
the biggest mystery any boxor review would have is to why Naparu is meant to have 2 disc-throwing arms, one rightside up and one upside-down. the set comes with the fist arm, but it is used in the Boxor and naparu only uses it with the alternate model. LEGO could have just included 2 fists couldnt they? oh well, very strange...
but Naparu is still great nontheless. He has the Orange Pakari mask that also comes in the Master Builder set and he has New Grey Feet, the first Tohunga as a toy to have non-matching mask and feet. Unfortunately he doesnt come with a disc, but i gave him one of onepu's smile.gif

-CONSTRUCTION-
building the model was not hard. after all LEGO has nice and thorough instructions smile.gif but the strange thing is it was not computer animated as all the recent instructions seem to be. but still it was good. anyways it was a 59 page booklet and the last few pages had some very nice pictures of the Toa Nuva, the Bohrak, etc.
and the steps were easy to follow, and there was more than enough pieces at the end. i had about 4 or 5 connectors left over, probably for the alternate model. There are also these pieces that angle direction (its hard to explain them) and i mixed them up, and i found out i did it wrong AFTER construction...dope...anyway after the instructions of how to build it were a few pages of how to box, how to take out the pilot, etc.
on the back of the booklet was the same 3 screenshots but enlargened. here i can see that that mysterious game screenshot says "THE BATTLE FOR MATA NUI", and looks very promising smile.gif of the cool parts to this set was the "seat" for the Tohunga. It was just an "L-Hook" thing where the Tohunga could slide its legs around. And it sat in there very tight too!! happy.gif

-PLAY/DISPLAY-
this is a very sturdy model that wont fall apart when dropped. in fact, it is VERY compact. my first though was "Wow, whoever designed this is a genius", and you would think that too, because its very complicated. from the Spring action with the elastics to the 4 gear system that links the arms with the legs, it was definitely thoroughly thought out. i always have fun sticking in naparu, and sometimes popping in kongu (my favourite tohunga smile.gif) and just boxing my Lehvak until its krana ejects smile.gif it also balances VERY well for display, because its feet are sturdy and wide.

-FEATURES-
some highlights of this already amazing set are:
Nuhvok Lens thingy - this set comes with the nuhvok's "windshield" thingy, which is weird because in the movie on lego.com, Nuparu builds the Boxor with Gahlok....also...GregF said that the bohrok are just stunned when the Krana are removed, so its kinda sick that Nuparu dismantled a live bohrok tongue.gif
Bohrok Torsos - this set came with the black Bohrok torso pieces as well as 1 orange one, pretty cool smile.gif
Grey Gali hooks - for those who were ranting about different coloured toa weapons, this set has them! There are 2 Grey Gali Hook used as the fists of the Boxor.
White Elastics - unlike the black elastics, these ones last WAAAAAY longer without cracking and snapping, so woohoo!!!
Bendable Tubes - this also includes the classic Technic bendable tube pieces that are also interesting
TOHUNGA!!! - this is one of 2 sets where you can actually BUY a Tohunga if you missed McDonald's Promotion. The other one is HAFU and the Bionicle Music Power Pack.

-DOLLAR VALUE-
the boxor consists of a lot of big pieces as well has small pieces, but hey, small pieces can be worth as much as big pieces when it comes to connecting! and no piece is extra, all are needed to make the boxor look the best it is! (except for the extras for the alternate model of course tongue.gif) so id say this set is worth every dollar, quarter, nickel, dime, penny or credit card you used to pay for it!

-THE CONCLUSION-
you should hav guessed it by now, but ill try to make this as unbiased as possible. i would rate LEGO Set 8556 BOXOR a 10/10, 100% 5 Stars and 2 thumbs up!excl.gif why? because it is one of the greatest and cheaper sets in the Bionicle line compared to sets like the Exo-Toa. So you can get a sweet little "Exo-Tohunga" for only about $15.00 (american), and it comes with a hard to get Tohunga figure!! now thats a good buy. the set itself is also VERy well thought out, it works and moves well, and the gear and elastic system is effecient without being notciable. So that is why the Boxor set is a must buy for any Bionicle Fan!

miru.gif kaukau.gif
My Gali review would be like that.

BOX
Wery good pic. It captures Gali on her best. Lot of you think that her mask is cool, right? Actually, when I got it I was kinda angry.gif , coz the mask wasn't thet cool as I tought it is. But the two-hand-system is good, espesially when you turn her torso 180 degrees and move her legs, but the claws won't attack wery well!
I'd give him... glare.gif glare.gif A-

My Lewa review would be like that.

BOX
Pretty good pic down there. Not the best but good one. Kanohi-Miru is good at side and front (without tohu miru.gif )!
But the mask isn't pretty good on top view, but you well get used to this. The sling-arm is annoying too. But he still looks great!
I'd give him... glare.gif glare.gif A

I'm gonna review Pohatu:

First of all, he's got a really, really good set design. They make it so that he can stand better than all the other Toa. They make it so that when you move him around it looks like he can bounce really easily. No offense to all the oher Toa, but I think Pohatu has the better design than all of them. All the other Toa's weapons are either too weak or too pointless except for Onua, he's my second favorite. His weapons are good, that's why. Pohatu's feet are really strong, meaning he can knock off an infected mask/Krana using either a front rising kick, or a hammer kick. Also, they make Pohatu's mask really well, so it's hard to hit off, so an evil person can't hit it off that easily. Go Pohatu!

Review on 8574 and 8573:Tahnok Kal and Nuhvok Kal

Appernce

Yeah yeah, looks like just a Bohrok Nuva but actually if you look at the set ITSELF....Its just breath taking.

At first i thought the Kal were great but now that I have two of them well......They kick butt.

So in appernce,I give it an overall 8.9 out of 10

Building experience

...Nothing to say much here except LOOK AT ALL THOSE NEW PIECES!!!NICE!!!
But its a little to easy to build....

So overall building experience: 3.4/10(to easy to build.)

Finally,Playing experience

I play with them all the time and bring them everywehere now smile.gif .I love these guys, best set to play with ever LEGO!!(in my opoion)

I love these guys...Great set to battle your Nuva with!!

10/10(I love them)

So overall rating,9.2 out of 10.Great idea Lego,I like it!!!

Here's my review it's on the Toa-Nuva.Oh,and by the way LEWA-NUVA RULES!!! smile_lewa_nu.gif smile_lewa_nu.gif smile_lewa_nu.gif smile_lewa_nu.gif Anyway here's the review. biggrin.gif

Key:A+=100 A=90 B+=85 B=80 C+=75 C=50 D+=20 D=0

Lewa-Nuva:(my description)Lewa-Nuva is hot headed and self absorbed.Although Lewa-Nuva is very monkey-like and has many disadvantages on solid ground. smile_lewa_nu.gif

:Canister:As usual all the cnisters are the same glare.gif ,but the pic. of Lewa-Nuva is great.

Mask:A lot better looking than the Miru-Olda I think it shows Lewa-Nuva's coolness. cool.gif miru.gif mirunu.gif

Weapons: New and improved they look alot better, and they look more like wings.

Design:Lewa-Nuva looks alot better because of the new gearing plan. The legs look a lot better 'cause his old legs look SUPER-SKINNY(like me).

Building:Well its pretty much easy to build 'cause of the look. When I looked at Lewa-Nuva's can I knew how to build him.I give the building level a1.

Price:As always it's around $7.99(US).It's a reasonable price and I'm surprised that the boxor was only$14.99(US)I expected the Boxor to be around $29.99.

I hope you liked the review.Overall I give Lewa-Nuva a 10/10. smile_lewa_nu.gif
(For my Onua-Nuva,Tahu-Nuva,Gali-Nuva,Pohatu-Nuva,and Kopaka-Nuva reviews could someone PM me the corresponding Toa-Nuva smilies?)I give him an A+++++++++++++++++++++(which is off the charts so his percentage is 1000.)

Heres my thoughts on the new Kal.
They look just like their brothers, except the shields are different. But they look very cool.

Tahnok Kal. The leader of the Kal, he is nice looking with the super electric flame detail on his claws. the CD says that the name is pronounced (Taanok Kaal).

The set itself is very nice. Like Tahu Nuva over Tahu, Tahnok Kal is a big improvement over Tahnok. The new bronze Krana, I say doesn't look right for him.I think that he should have a gold Krana instead of Nuhvok Kal, since gold fits more like the main colour of Krana. The faceplate is also new. It is no longer transparent, but is grey with scales of the primary Bohrok colour. Tahnok Kal's features a flame sort of detail of scales of the faceplate.

Nuhvok Kal will be reviewed tommorow. I'll post photos of them too, as soon as my film gets developed!
Bye!

Well, here goes something...

--------------------CAHDOK&GAHDOK--------------------
A+
------------------------------------------------------------------------
The teeth are the biggest hit in this set, with
white everything! Do they secretly use Colgate or
something? Other than brushing their teeth, look
at the claws! The second-to-best thing about the
Bahrag is the comfortable spot where your hand
goes. Doesn't it feel nice to kill a toa? And it is
very fun to build, 630 pieces baby! One more
thing before I get to the cons, if you attach the
head rubberband below the rod, the head opens,
than snaps shut when it reaches the end of its
span. If its above the rod, it stays open. The only
thing I dont like about it is the short arms. Done.

How do you like it?

EDIT: hey, what happened to all the straight lines and my imaginary piece of paper? It messed up the spaces!

This is a review of "8573 Nuhvok-Kal” and “8574 Tahnok-Kal” sets which are scheduled to start appearing in stores nationwide this spring. PLEASE HAVE PATIENCE WHILE THE IMAGES LOAD!

Let me preface this review by saying this is the first time I've reviewed a full LEGO set, but this is the way I've always wanted to see sets reviewed. I'll explain each section as we go, which will have pictures and info inside it. So, let's get started.

THE BOXES
This is the most superficial part of any LEGO product, but the one that often determines whether or not the set is a success or failure.

user posted image user posted image

Well, they’re pretty much like the Bohrok Olda canisters. They have exactly the same design (as is common between most aspects of the Bohrok Olda and the Bohrok-Kal), as last time, but now with the plain colours of red, white, blue, black etc. They are kinda like the Toa Nuva canisters, with the resemblance to the Olda ones, and which the un-metallic colouration.
On the front is a picture of the Bohrok-Kal in the canister, with their environment, and “reptilian” pattern, as the background. Also, there is a small picture (much like the ones on the First Edition Toa), that tells you there is a promotional CD-ROM inside. More about those later. On the back we see pictures of the Dormant Kal, and then them in strike position. It also shows them inside the canister, a picture of a Krana-Kal being launched onto a Nuva’s face, and the 8 different Krana-Kal.

WHAT'S IN THE BOXES?
So you've bought them and taken them home (or had them handed to you via the Postman), unscrew the lids and dump out the contents. What do you get for your money?

Everything you'd expect is in these sets:
  • Parts
  • Model Construction Manual
  • Promo CD-ROM

    user posted image

    user posted image

    THE CDs
Is it a good promotion or a naff CD?
What was that last one? That's right, the Promo Bohrok-Kal CD-ROM. Inside you get movies, pictures, information on the Kal, Nuva, Krana-Kal and Kanohi Nuva, as well as wallpaper, previews of the new PC game, MOL, and the GBA:MA. The real gem is a 3D model of the respective Kal + Nuva, which you can move to any angle with the mouse. Even the highlights on their weapons change. The menu graphics are amazing, with the Kal/Nuva there “breathing” and looking around while you browse. The Protodermis weapons and armour are the best, and shine like… well quicksilver.

    user posted image

    THE BRICKS
Here's where we start to cut to the heart of the matter. You didn't buy these canisters for all the glossy booklets & creative artwork. You want to know about the LEGO bricks & bits that are included, and what (if any) new & interesting parts you'll find inside. Here's also where I'll talk about any new and/or interesting pieces that you will encounter.

    user posted image

    user posted image

In the Kal sets, well, It’s just the same a the Bohrok. You get the arms/legs, feet, hip joints, body, cogs, head, and of course the fantastic new faceplates and Krana-Kal

    BUILDING EXPERIENCE
What can you expect while putting these models together?

I found that these two sets were the most fun I’ve had in ages. I built them from memory (I had to check up only on the light-grey +rods), and it was a great feeling to push in the Krana, snap on the faceplate and see my Kal “ready to kick some Nuva butt”.

    PLAYING EXPERIENCE
So you've got the models together, but is it more like playing with blocks of wood or an interactive toy?

user posted image user posted image

The playing with is the best bit. You can now Krana-Kal your Nuva, steal their paper symbols… and help to revive the Bahrag Queens… The Krana-Kal are interesting to look at. In different lights they are different colours, and the sheen, especially on Nuvhok-Kal’s in very pretty.

    user posted image

    OVERALL
Here's where it all boils down to whether the models are worth your money and time or not.

For £5 ($7.99) each these sets are well worth it, for parts or as a collectable. If you are a serious Bionicle fan, you must get these great sets. They are fun to build and play with, and look great on display or even on top of a toy-pile. If you already had all the Bohrok Olda you may not bother, but MOC builders… this is a goldmine for new pieces and colours. They’re worth the cash just for the CD-ROMs, the sets come as an extra!

PLEASE CHECK OUT THIS LINK TO SEE PHOTOS, SCANS AND SCREENSHOTS OF THE BOHROK KAL, CD-ROM AND INSTRUCTION MANUAL!

With thanks to Dimensioneer (who I hope won’t mind) for his original “Review” layout, which I edited.

I just got me a boxor.
    well priced:15.00$

    building

It actually is not easy to build.
50 pages of building instructions( alternate model has 38 or so).

    matoran-GREAT

smilie_nuparu.gif looks sooooo great and also boxor's attack

one thing about nuparu- he has two disc-arms but i took the regular arm from the boxor and i put it on my nuparu

I'm actually gonna make a movie about the boxor.

    IT'S WORTH ITS MONEY

    I'm doing one of Pohatu.

    Pices-

Gots regular Toa parts but the special ones are the parts that go onto the foot and the Koli ball so I'd give the pices a 8/10.

Other stuff that comes with it-

The poster is O.K. but it keeps on coming down but it might just be my wall. It would be better if it had a little booklet like the Bohrok but its O.K. I'd give the other stuff a 6/10.

    buliding it-

Pretty easy like the rest of the Toa isn't that much fun so I'd give this part a 4/10.

    Playing experience-

Good. The mask does not come off easly when a bohrok hits it. Acutally his head seems to come off more then the mask. You can also kick the Koli Ball. This part gets a 9/10

    over all-

not much fun to build and the other stuff is'nt that great but the playing experience is enogh for me to buy it so overall i'd give it a 8/10, 4/5, and a B+.

I'm doing one of Lewa Nuva mirunu.gif smile_lewa_nu.gif

Mask: Absolutely TERRIBLE! Looks like some kind of pointy lily pad and I keep exchanging it for the original. 0/10

Tools: Cliche! All the Toa Nuva's weapons are practically the same. Cool design, though. 7/10

Body: EXCACTLY the same to Tahu Nuva, but I kind of prefer the more sturdy look to the old Toa. 6/10

    Overall: 0 + 7 + 6 = 13/30 ¬ [that's a divide by sign btw] 3 = 4.3/10

    Adjustments:

Make the Kanohi Nuva look more like the original [the miru MAKES Lewa]

Make the tools mini axes [the axe MAKES Lewa]

Make the body different from the others - different build perhaps.

That's my opinion. And Lewa Nuva lovers - don't kill me now - I'm too young to die. unsure.gif rolleyes.gif biggrin.gif
