No, it's not a typo. Takutanuva is the combiner of 8593 Makuta and 8596 Takanuva. This combiner might look like Makuta, but don't be fooled - Takutanuva is quite different.

off-topic: i hope you DON'T loose proto for that, but its probably not a good idea to tease the rules. On-Topic: it looks....Demonish. Not totally evil, just demonish. The wings do add an anime look to it tho. Makes it looks...more demonish. I like it all together tho, the arms are alittle odd tho. I still think it looks too much like Makuta. Maybe you could put the clear-silver Avohkii on him it would give him more of Takanuva in him. And the staff could use some modifications.

 You... You just simply love torturing us? Dont you...? The Takutanuva set looks SWEET. Best combinder yet, I really like the wings on the back. The staff is simply stunning, and the arms look menacing.. The mask looks somehow different though, I dont know why.. Must be the lighting or something. Sweet review, and thanks alot for the pictures! When my Takanuva and Makuta come, I might merge them since that looks SWEET!   -------------------- Fitter. Happier. More productive.

Although incredibly sweet looking, i mean jeeze man the set rules, the question will continue to burn into the foreheads of most everybody untill the MoL comes out, why would they want to combine? A theory is born in the mind of this Bionicle fan.
Perhaps the fusion of the two is not fully by choice, just as the Toa's transformation was, although in a slightly different manner. Nothing can be said for sure untill the movie comes out, and the real truth is revealed.

Well, coolness aside, I am sorry that buyers will apparently be forced to choose between the ussanui or a cool promotional mask - that will be a tough one.
 Thanks for a nice review though, it helps to be able to think about pros and cons ahead of time  .

Too much like Makuta... The only thing I like in particualar are the wings. Everything else is wwwwwwwaaaaaaayyyyyyy too much like Makuta.
Off topic: What if Red-Alert2 never knew about the "--- to post" rule? He shouldn't lose proto if he didn't know!

Off-Topic: my friend, he is at the same ranking as yourself, and you knew about the post rule<i dare not say it,es evil!> I'm sure he did know, and either way, if it bothered b-rex that much he could have simply PM'd Red Alert-2. and then determined weather he'd loose proto or not. Whats done is done, and he still has a higher proto bar than most members so why would he be complaining. Good question Nataku. I would have immediately assumed good, but maybe he is evil? I think he will probably be a little like the beast spirits in Digimon, where he is in a situation that he is so powerful he can't be controlled, but is ultimately on the good side of things.
Thank you for the decent pictures guys! The combiner model can break or make a set, and I reckon this one makes the cut. The wings (if thats what the yturn out to be) look really cool. Does this use Ussanui parts as well? - J  E

Yes Apollo that is correct, Ussanui peices are needed in order to construct Takutanuva.
I have already purchased Takanuva and Makuta and am contimplating wether I should buy them again so I can have Takutanuva as well but I believe it is not worth a whole nother $50.00 because he looks so much like Makuta. Depending on how much Takutanuva deals with the story and has to do with certain things will determine if I will buy Takanuva and Makuta again. Anyways I wish it were different and am to no theories or ideas of why the two will fuse... -------------------- I am currently writing a novel on the complete story of Bionicle (from year 2001 to 2006). The book will be comprised of every resource of Bionicle ever created (movies, comics, books, etc.) Send a PM involving any input or interest in helping me achieve this epic project

 the started to get confusing after season three! And apparently it does use the ussanui parts well considering it has his arms made out of parts of it, and he didn't have many parts after making it <see binks first MoC topic somewhere...>. But i do kinda wish that the clear sparkly MoL would have been his mask...woulda been interesting

The TRU might just come with pieces of the Ussanui. It won't have any extra pieces like if you built Takutanuva with the seperate sets. If the Takutanuva set comess with an exclusive mask then I'm definatly buying it!

Wow, that guy is awesome. I've made up my mind: I'm buying this guy's combiner at TRU, and I'm not going to have any regrets!

I like the whole wings going for Takutanuva, but which side is he on?
 I mean I first thought of Takutanuva as a "forced" combiner in able to save the island of Mata Nui. But now I know I'm probabally wrong. So which side is he on?

OK, I've got an answer for you. I think Takutanuva was combine-created so that Takanuva would destroy him (Makuta) from inside (since his armor would be unpenetrable). That's all.

Well what do you think? It is mostly makuta with takanuva and a few ussanui parts, what would you exspect?. Are you sure that the TRU promo doesn't come with the ussanui? since you need it to build Takutanuva...
I've said it before and I'll say it again: It looks too much like Makuta. at first glance I can barely tell that takanuva's in it. oh, well... i'm still getting it!
