QUOTE (bonesiii)
And BTW... Makaru... I don't understand what about silver clashes with the other colors, really. Silver and black are the two colors that general work alongside any other color...

...but really don't see anything wrong with silver. Just not sure it IS silver on the arms.

I think Mr. Munks pretty much summed it up here:

QUOTE (munkeymunkey)
The color scheme: I postulate that most people would agree with me whole-heartedly on this point. The mask is black, the shoulders are school-bus yellow, the torso and arms are mostly silver-gray, and the legs are dark green (and yet all of these have other colors thrown in as well, seemingly randomly). Clash? Hodge-podge? It's not appealing, and it doesn't make sense.

But if that doesn't suffice, then I guess we'll have to agree to disagree.

QUOTE (Bonesiii)
And as far Rhotuka usefulness -- they're not intended as Collectibles, so not sure why "collecting them all" is relevent...

...That's why I say Rhotuka are too fun to get rid of; it's not for the sake of members who already own Rhotuka but for those who don't.

I guess it was this line that threw me off:

QUOTE (Forums Frontpage)
Bionicle Collectibles
The forum to discuss the big six Bionicle collectibles: Kanohi, Krana, Kraata, Kanoka, >> Rhotuka << and Zamor spheres.

And Rhotuka are still readily available. Most stores still carry the Rahaga. They're what, $5 tops? If anyone's that desperate to get their hands on spiny things, there are several better ways.

QUOTE (Bonesiii)
BTW, I thought, personally, that Voporak was an example of a clumsy color scheme, and was rather surprised that the reaction to it never really included that, and was quite positive. Of course, that's a combiner model, which is generally held to a lower standard than for sets, so that may explain it.

Voporak was a combiner set. Of three other sets. With different colour schemes. It's hard to have a matching colour scheme with that set-up. Umbra is a stand alone set, so it can't use that as an excuse.

But again, agree to disagree, I suppose.

QUOTE (bonesiii)
And I beleive I've heard they didn't sell well, so apparently they didn't rock in most people's opinions. Could be remembering wrong though.

Or that people aren't able to spend $90 on the spot. Their ability to 'rock' didn't factor in financially with most people.
