Correction: My name is HauNuva, not Haunuva!

Welcome to my epic center, which I don't think has any reason to be closed. Yet. tongue.gif Anyway, since my list of 'epics I really love' got too big to fit in my sig, it's going to be here, along with all my other epics. I encourage people to reply here when I post SpellSong, but for now, the Exosphere: Backlash review topic is still the place to review Exosphere.

Avatar courtesy of CrypticIdentity. And the idea of the Epic Center was inspired (at least in my case) by KopakaX and CI.
And now, for the Special Thanks section. These BZPower members really deserve praise, more for the strength of their character and the warmth of their friendship than anything else. (Of course, there's plenty of 'else' to praise them for.)

CrypticIdentity, whose undending patience and humor have kept me going.
TahuFrozen, who gave me some wonderful characters to play with, and whose enthusiastic replies are always welcome.
KopakaX, whose writing gave me inspiration, and whose own steadfast resolve and character were a pillar I could always count on.
Toa of the Stars, whose epic mirrors mine in an eery way, and who provides a great source of ideas and support.
MakutaTypist, whose wacky PM titles always gave me a laugh, and whose epics and personality are similarly quirky;
Anifanatic#, whose replies always make me smile, and whose gentle humility is very uplifting;
DarkWairuha, whose infrequent but very intelligent replies always provide the impulse to write some more,
Kumata Nuva, whose creative power allows him to write THREE epics at once, and who has been a great friend, just like everyone else,
and anyone I've forgotten. Simply PM me if you think you should be on here, and I'll add you.

Awards
This section was added at the conclusion of the SSC #4, and contains not only any awards my undeserving, humble writing might receive, but awards given to every epic in my library. Anyway:

The Chronicles of Light, Book 1: Rebirth of the Toa placed first in Serious Story Contest #4! Congratulations ot KopakaX for getting the recognition he deserves for his masterful writing!

My humble Exosphere: Backlash placed second in that same contest, although how I will never know.

Here is something that's not quite an award, but still worth a lot to me: the famous moderator/writer Makuta Master PMed one morning. Out of a sense of discretion, I won't copy his PM word-for-word without his permission, but he complimented my writing. Coming from him, a major BZLiterary figure, these words mean a lot. Thanks, Makuta Master!

Anyway, the links follow:

The Exosphere Saga

Exosphere
The short story that started it all. Lewa and Gali, planning to ambush a convoy of Bohrok Va, instead run into a fallen star and an opponent a thousand times more lethal than the Bohrok. The nightmare has begun....(thanks to KopakaX for the link)

Invasion
The mysterious creatures they met during the start of the Bohrok invasion have haunted Lewa and Gali's dreams. But they don't understand the true power of the alien menace that is about to descend on Mata Nui. The Exosphere is coming, and they are here to stay...

Void
Po-Koro and Onu-Koro have been destroyed. 40% of the Matoran population is dead. The Bohrok have been forced into retreat. And the Exosphere has the Vahi. The only hope for the survival of Mata Nui, and the known universe, lies with the Toa and a renegade Exosphere warrior named Ssrin.

Backlash
Crossroads is no more. But the torch of its funeral pyre has issued a summons, and a fleet is gathering, perhaps the known universe's last hope against the designs of the Exosphere. Unfortunately, a fleet will be no help whatsoever against the evil power the Exosphere has unearthed... The stunning conclusion to the Exosphere saga.

The Exosphere Anthology
The Exosphere Saga may have closed, but the Exosphere Universe still has an infinity of tales to be told. Here, the most talented writers on BZPower, and humble little me, are putting together a collection of short stories from the past, present, and future of the Exosphere Universe. SPOILER ALERT: Finish the Exosphere Saga before reading this!

Review the Exosphere trilogy here.

Exosphere Art here:
Ssrin Sketch. A really wonderful series of drawings and comics by CrypticIdentity, on the subject (for now) of the Exosphere universe. I wish I could draw so well!

The SpellSong Saga

SpellSong: Abyss A half-elven bard from the land of Faerun is summoned to Mata Nui by the sinister Vox. Accompanied by a mysterious Ko-Koronan ranger, he seeks a way home...and the sinister purpose behind his summoning. Set during Makuta's reign over Mata Nui, before the arrival of the Toa.

Mandatory Reading List
CI's masterpiece of dimensional travel, suspense, plain stunning writing, and amazing characters:
Torn Identities
Something's gone wrong on Mata Nui. Not only has a human boy been transported from his home dimension to the island, but mysterious portals are opening up, unleashing a flood of evil which must be stopped...at all costs. The characters, portrayed with incredible vivacity by CI, are really great. Not to be missed.
Completed with amazing success. We've heard word of another project based on it...

Highly recommended: Kumata Nuva's incredible saga of adventure, masterfully portrayed villains, and convincing heroes:
The Chronicles of Vari-Hao
On an island far from Mata Nui, Toa-less and currently unmarred by evil, a new darkness is rising. The only hope for stopping it lies with an unlikely fellowship, one of the most realistic I've ever seen written. Prepare to be astonished as you explore a massive new island and all the mysteries and wonders held within!
Uncompleted. We've heard word of another project based on it...

Kamion's splendid Epic Center.
We recommend Makuta's Game. I'm pretty sure Kamion is no longer on-line. No comments for now.

KopakaX's TREMENDOUS saga of good and evil, light and dark, truly incredible characters, and even more incredible writing:
The Chronicles of Darkness
and the sequel, The Chronicles of Light. Both are THREE-BOOK TRILOGIES! Really worth your time.

The Xahctrann have been a major power on the island ever since Makuta's death. Now one of their greatest warriors, Asruthen, sets out on a quest to save Xa-Koro from destruction. That tiny beginning throws the reader into a wonderful medley of battles, dialogue, emotions, and history, as KopakaX vividly portrays the future of Mata Nui and the characters that drive it.

Successfully completed. Has two sequels, and another series 'based' on it. All of them are great.

Finally, the stunning
Entering the Void
Toa of the Star's stellar (no pun intended) debut epic, a tale of universal war and incredible history. Not to be missed for anything!

Nothing is menacing Mata Nui. Unfortunately, Nothing is far stronger than anyone would like to admit, and the Toa are tested to their very last as they contest with the sinister Voids and their even darker masters. A wonderful tale of the past and future of Mata Nui and of the very structure of the Bionicle cosmos! READ!

Has a sequel, and another one is in the works. Successfully completed.

Also, MakutaTypist's wonderful revisionist history tale:
The Rahkshi Saga
MakutaTypist disliked the Bohrok, so he took them out and rewrote the storyline with the Rahkshi appearing right after Makuta's first defeat. Vivid descriptions, tight plotting, and a refreshing mix of humor and action make this a masterpiece! Especially vivid are his depictions of the Rahkshi and their characteristics.

MakutaTypist's latest work, a masterpiece in sore need of attention - Blue Avengers.
A sci-fi/Mata Nui epic in the tradition of Exosphere or Entering the Void, Blue Avengers bristles with excellent environmental descriptions, fabulous details, suspenseful writing, tension, and well-developed character - seriously an epic you should not miss. Although the writing is excellent, MakutaTypist needs more reviews - so do him a favor and read his epic!

In progress.

Lexicons

SpellSong
Here is a lexicon of confusing terms in the SpellSong series. It will be placed in alphabetical order, later. Some terms are not defined because they shouldn't be revealed yet in the story. (Right now it only has one entry.)

Faerun - Laucian's home continent, in different universe from that of Mata Nui.

Enjoy!
Updates on my stories and other things - like when I'll be on vacation - will also be posted here. Please check back frequently. I will add quotes, maybe, to the story descriptions, and other good stuff may come up here soon!

Ha! About time, HauNuva! But yeah, this is a great way to shorten your sig, and maintain a link source for all your epics (and, which I'm quite thankful for, links to other epics as well). If you want to add it, though, here's a link to Exosphere (the short story) that gives readers some background knowledge:

Thank you for the link, KopakaX! I'm really glad you came up with that. (tosses pointy objects at KopakaX) Have some gratitude points. tongue.gif

Anyway, edited in an 'inspiration thanks' and KopakaX's handy link. Also, tried to add the Exosphere image, updated Exosphere and my sig, and otherwise got things done. That's right, new Exosphere chapter.

Anyway, can anyone tell me how to post an Exosphere banner from my computer?
Or at least put it in my sig?

If it has something LEGO-related, get a www.brickshelf.com account, and upload it there from your computer. Be it in your post or signiture, do

CODE
[img]yoururlhere[/img]

If it doesn't have any Toa in it, you'll have to either find a different host, or put Pohatu there.

EDITED: HN, you inspired me to finally update my own centre with affiliates. You and you're brilliant ideas keep overpowering me... laugh.gif

blush.gif Thanks, KopakaX, although I think some of my ideas are not so overwhelming...

Anyway, I have a Yahoo website. Can I post the picture there and link it? Or is that direct linking? It doesn't have anything Bionicle-related except the words 'Mata Nui.' Hmmm...I wonder if that qualifies.

Anyway, editing in a new story now. MakutaTypist's epic is really good, but I forgot to link to it. I'll rectify that...

I think you can do that, I direct linked from my site once and it worked. I'm not with yahoo though. glare.gif Ah well, I'd give it a go. There must be some way!

A place that connects to all of the Exosphere Trilogy and HN's favorite stories. Great job! I see you've put a link to TI. Speaking of which... sly.gif Nope. I won't say nuthin'. Anyways, you should put a link to Varasekh's Journey and the Bionicle Saga. Those are your Epics, too. And your format is original--not like me basically copying GG's. Hope my PM was helpful!

Edited post to make it a little more along the lines of what I was getting at.

Thanks, Kumata and KopakaX. CI gave me a wonderful walkthrough and I'm going to get a VillagePhoto account. Thanks again!

Took that bad link out of the top of my epic center. There is now only one 'Rahkshi Saga' link. blush.gif Little problem before...two links, one right at the top.

EDIT: CI, you and I posted at the same time? What do you mean by 'didn't say nuthin?' Did I do something wrong? Help, please! I didn't mean to offend you! And your PM was really helpful, I'm so glad you sent it. Anyway, glad you like my epic center. I'll get Varasekh's Journey and Bionicle Saga up sometime, but I really want to focus on Exosphere for now.

Haha... Alright, CI, quit teasing and tell all these good people what you're up to. Or just stop being to darn cruel! tongue.gif

BTW, is Exosphere almost over? Not to come off as eager or anything (why does good stuff have to end?!), but I'm anxious for Spellsong, too, whatever it'll be about. Whatever you right is automatically good in my book, so the anticipation just keeps building, and building, and going... Like that Energizer bunny.

Thanks, KopakaX. If you compliment me too much, I'm going to wear out the blush.gif emoticon. (tosses lime-colored dart) Anyway, I'm eager but really uneager to finish Exosphere. Eager, because I want to do Spellsong and because I CANNOT WAIT to write the final battle, and really dreading it because Exosphere has been my life, and I've poured my heart and soul into that story.

Spellsong, I think, will be better. I'm going to write the whole thing, proofread it twice, and then post it. Expect it up in two or three months. ohmy.gif OK, maybe sooner. The Guide to the Exosphere might fill in some of that space. SpellSong will have a sequel, tentatively titled 'Wrath of the Stormwarden', or 'The Spellsinger's Soul,' focusing on the main character's wife.

Whaddya think?

Yay! TahuFrozen - I mean Althane, or future Althane! You're back! You won't believe what's happened to Thau!

Anyway, some big news: CI has posted some new pictures in the Exosphere Art topic, proving once more that he is one of the most multitalented BZPower writers out there! Unfortunately, both of his new pics are having some technical difficulties (VillagePhotos is mad that everyone likes them so much.)

Anyway, Backlash has been updated with two new chapters today.

In love? Where did I say that? Or are you reading between the lines.

Ssrin is just a REALLY tortured soul, my vision of what would happen to someone who was forced to betray everything they'd grown up with for people who they'd been told were inferior. Then she's been forced to kill thousands of innocents for the 'greater good'. She's got problems, but she's not crazy. And all the Khai have been touched by pure evil.

And as you said, 'wink'. You won't believe what happens to him LATER.

You may have not said it intentionaly, but, it seems very much that Tahu cares for Ssrin, at least in a above normal way. wink.gif

Gotta read the new chapters!

Perceptive, Althane. Terrifyingly perceptive, in fact. ohmy.gif Hush up.
Seriously, we'll see about your theory by the end of Backlash....

Added an Exosphere banner to my sig. It's a rough draft. I'll have a much better, and less space-consuming, one later, assuming my sig doesn't get deleted first.

Thanks! I don't have Photoshop, alas, but I managed to cobble this together. I think I can do a lot better, though, and make a more space-efficient banner, so a new version will be coming up sooner or later.

More Backlash is up! Just in time for KopakaX to go read it. Feel no rush, KopakaX, take your time. I don't want my epic to cause undue stress. Yours, on the other hand, is really worth getting bent out of shape over...

Hey, I just finished reading EXOSPHERE, and I'm about to read the trilogy. Assuming I can read it all today... happy.gif

Anyway, EXOSHPERE is excellent, it provides a very mysterious and foreshadowing feeling towards the rest. I'll edit this thing with my comments for the rest, or maybe I'll just post again. Keep it up, HauNuva! cool.gif They're great!

Thank you, ToM, I really appreciate the feedback. The other epics can either be reviewed here, or in there own review topics, which can be located via the link at the top of the first post of each one. Invasion, Void, and Backlash all have their own review topics.

Once more, thanks for reviewing!

Your welcome. smile.gif I read Invasion last night, and now I'm halfway through Void. They're both very, very good. I love them! You've put some real thought into this species, as well as all the others. The plot is absolutely thrilling, and all of the twists and turns make it all too good. If you printed it all out, then you could probably make your own book! I'll edit this or post again with my reviews for the rest.

Keep it up! I love this series!

EDIT for the rest of Void: Absolutely enthralling, HN! The Scythed are... weird... but I like the Nueroscythes. They're very interesting, and I like the entire "void diamond" thing. You could write a CoT epic revolving around that with no problem! Pohatu using the Vahi was interesting, not what I'd have expected. Then the ending was rather unusual, not the "happily-ever-after" stuff that usually happens. In a way, it reminded me of "The Empire Strikes Back", and I think you can see why. Bah... I'm rambling again. ziplip.gif

No, no, I understand what you're saying, Toa of Muffins. (I'm not sure how I know that's what ToM stands for. Maybe I'm wrong.) It was a gloomy ending. Backlash's ending will be (censored to avoid spoilers. HAHAHAHAHA!) Sorry, I like to milk the suspense.

Anyway, as always, your reviews are really appreciated. I'm glad you enjoyed those stories, and I hope you had as much fun reading them as I did writing them.

BTW, why are the scythed 'weird?' What's that mean?

Hey, Toa of Muffins has joined the clan! Yet another person with a line of good reading ahead of them. We can make a difference!

And HN, you're link to Exosphere is faulty. Seems you copied the link as is, which has a ... in the middle to shorten it, and thus, the link redirects to the index. Here's the link:

http://www.bzpower.com/forum/index.php?act...ST&f=25&t=91786

If there's a ... in the middle, go to the page, and get the URL from there. Hope it helps!

Someday, this will be a hot topic. Mark my words. HN's fame will spread.

blush.gif Thank you for your prophecies, KopakaX, and I honestly hope they do come to pass, so long as my pals are still around and as deservedly elevated. In fact, you may be interested to read my 'Reflections on BZPower,' which I've been thinking on for a while and which are non-fiction essays I will be posting relatively soon. My friends (i.e. you, CI, Kumata, ToTS, soon-to-be-Althane, Vanilla Coke, MakutaTypist, and the rest), play a big part in my philosophizing. Maybe you'll enjoy them!

And thanks for the tip on that link. I will fix that. :slaps self:

-h.gifn.gif

EDIT: The Exosphere short story link HAS NOT been fixed, but I posted ' Reflections on BZPower.' Take a look at the bottom of the first post.

Also, if you haven't already and want to keep up with new chapters on my epics, please subscribe to the topics so I don't have to keep DPing in the review topic. I PMed Schizo and he suggested this alternative to review-topic double posts.

-h.gifn.gif

EDIT 2: ToM Nuva did a great render which has some relation to Backlash. I don't want to seem to be taking credit for his idea, but I enjoyed it and thought it should keep company with such esteemable masterpieces as Konro's drawings. I may put it in my epic center, if he gives me permission. For now, there's a link in the Exosphere: Backlash review topic.

Actually, this is a hot topic! BTW, you have permission to post the image. wink.gif

Anyway, I never did post my comments about Backlash. I like it! The Pohatu vs. Onua battle was exciting, and I liked all the explanations about what was going on (the Prophecies). Konro makes a good Admiral, but I have a sneaky feeling that Ssrin and Thau are finally going to make up in the next chapter... Eh, I look forward to seeing the rest! happy.gif

Hey, HN! Just so you know, I think I fixed the image problem; apparently, you can only upload 5 MB of images up, and I still had all of those book sigs on there. So, I deleted them! Hooray! You might have to wait a day before you can see the images, though. I'm working on a Scythed Onua drawing right now; so far I've got the mask and right arm done. Believe me when I say that Onua's claw (in the perspective I was drawing) is the hardest thing to draw in the ENTIRE WORLD!

-c.gif i.gif

P. S. I just noticed; in your last post, you put "Konro's" drawings tongue.gif . Don't worry, it's an easy mistake. In fact, I sometimes wonder how I drew stuff like Onua's claw without stretching my arm in a weird way... Oh well. Don't worry, I'll never do that to you, Tamo!

Oops, I did call you Konro, didn't I? Sorry, CI, although I hope I've done the character well enough to make it a flattering comparison. And I'm itching to see that Scythed Onua drawing, I can imagine it'd be incredibly difficult. The pictures still aren't showing up, but as you said, it might take another day.

A little explanation on Backlash: an avatar is typically the mortal form of a god. In my story, it means the 'hero' or 'champion' of a Titan. That 'cool' with everyone?

Yes, that 'is' 'cool' with 'me.' I don't 'know' about the 'others.'

And I must say, I'm itching to read the next essay. Or did you already post one? Ugh, I need more sleep...

Fine with me. wink.gif

Though why didn't I get to be the avatar? (just kidding)

Man, awesome battle with the Skele Regent. The Ice Golems were an awesome idea.

Err... can't use the word awesome enough in regards to that battle. tongue.gif

Indeed it is over, that is, the Exosphere Saga.

However, the stories of the Exosphere Universe are not. I have just posted the Exosphere Anthology, and I look forward to your contribution, Althane. You can find a link in the 'epic center' part of the epic center...

HN, did Kamion tell you he was back as Creuric? Think he's starting a new story, too.

No, I haven't finish Backlash. But I will. Mark my words.

Don't rush, KopakaX, there's no deadline to finish it. I'm not stressed out about you finishing; it's important to me, but I understand that there are much more important things for you than finishing my little ramble. Once more, don't worry!

Creuric/Kamion did indeed tell me that he was back! I liked the first part of his story, which he PMed to me, and suggested some edits which should make it even better.

I'll get around to editing his 'epic center link' fairly soon.

No problem, Althane, the quality of your writing is worth the wait.

Anyway, my PM box may have been full for a little. If you sent a message yesterday (Sunday before Thanksgiving) please resend it. This doesn't apply to Kumata Nuva or ToM Nuva, whose messages did get through. Thanks!
