It might help to follow the rules more, and spam less. Whatever you lost Proto for would be something to refrain from doing and, if possible, doing the opposite just might get you a little bit back, eventually. Depends on what you did. Maybe. Protodermic Energy is a reward for hard work. It takes a lot of consistent hard work to earn a reward.

Ok I searched through all 9 pages tiresly and didn't find an answer to my question. So my question is if a new-b was just making his 3rd post and his computer did a dp,and it kept on doing that every time he posted. Well this member didn't know about PE or any of the rules and every time his computer double posted,he made another post apologizing for it.Let's just say he saw posts that were dps and saw a Moderator post after it and say it was against the rules. Next,a Moderator pmed him and said not to do that and he lost 1 PE unit. And what if it wasn't this member's falt that his computer kept on double posting. Well this is my problem. I want my point back because I promise whole heartedly that I did not mean for my comouter to do it. I know it does it rarely now but as I said I promise I didn't mean for it to happen. So I'd greatly apprecitate it and be eternaly grateful if I got it back. Thank you!

Then what you do is PM the moderator back explaining the exact situation. Hopefully you can get things worked out with him/her. I know it isn't always anyone's fault the comp DP's. It happened to me just the other day because it was having problems posting in a topic (internet was too busy). The best thing to do is to edit that post apologizing for the DP, and report it to get it cleaned up. The reason they take proto for DPing a lot is because when someone DPs constantly, that usually means they weren't paying attention to the rules. If you edit it with an apologee, that indicates that you know it's wrong, and you will try not to do it again. But, alas, computers often continue to be flaky like that. |

Alright, I have something I was wondering about. When a person becomes a premier member, they get 2 Proto boosts, right? After awhile their membershhip will run out, if they aren't a lifetime member. So, when it runs out, do they lose those Proto boosts, or do they get to keep them? And how many boosts do you get if you get it for a Lifetime membership?

1. When your membership runs out, your proto level stays right where it is. You will not lose any. 2. All memberships are given the same amount of proto -- two. This includes the 6-month, 1-year, and lifetime membership. |

*wonders*
Can you get Proto-Boosts for helping out in a particular forum, multiple times? Just wondering. 'Tis something that's been bugging me for a while. -------------------- ![]() |

Proto is given out for helping out on BZP. You need to help out rather a lot of times, but that should be just out of the goodness of your heart. S~K -------------------- |

If you send in a new into the news, but it becomes "Source: BZP members", can you still merit proto for that? Unfortunately, no. You may only get a PE boost if your name was in the source section, sometimes along with someone else's name as well. Actually, even if your name is the only one there or yours is there with someone else's, it doesn't necessarily mean you receive proto. It depends on how significant the story is, or if it greatly effects our community. ;) It is more on who the reporter is. You can send it something so awesome and cool, but not get proto for it. The reporter is the only one who determines whether it merits proto or not. -Omi So, because you have a bad history, they could choose not to give you a proto boost at all? Or were you implying something different? No. I think in this case, "Reporter" = Person who writes the news story and puts it on the front page.
