You are most likely right in the fact that they would die when the storms began, but the Codrex can only protect machines that are inside it, not living beings.
 This wold result in the death of the Makuta and the Toa. Unless we just happen to find out something new about the interior of the codrex...  S~K -------------------- |

It does make sense that they would flee.But couldn't Mata nui go after them?Maybe not.But I don't think they will be blasted to bits.Too violent for Bionicle.
