ChocoLvr13, it's all right to get your own epic reviewed even if you're a critic.

Speaking of which, everyone join me in congratulating three new critics: ChocoLvr13 (Sorry to keep you waiting!), Exo-Fat (Whee, someone tell him the good news!) and Avahu (Him too!)

Now, I have to state one rule, just for now.

The Epic Critics Club is aware that Epic Contest 7 is up and running. A rule I've issued to all critics is that no one is allowed to review contest entries.
Hence, contest entries that are put through here will not be attended to.

Reason being: We believe that a contest is a test of the participant's skill, and his/her own skill. We also want to avoid any bias or unfairness when select entries get reviewed by us and others not reviewed. Lastly, we have a big workload as it is! XD We may only be able to attend to the entry by the time the contest is over!

So, everyone, please take note. I'll put this at the topic's first post too... when I have the time.

Don't worry guys. Daydreamer hasn't forgotten you.. I think. Well I'm sorry if it seemed like I was reprimanding you. I wasn't. I was just pointing out that the 9.0 doesn't mean anything. Know that since your epic already has quite a large fanbase you might not be attended to right away.

Can critics please respond once they've reviewed an epic? I just read half of Bond of War, and another critic already responded. I guess I'll take Traitor.

I'm not trying to whine, but I put a really well-thought-out review together, and I find that someone else responded. While I may post that review, I want to review ones that haven't yet. Not tryin' to whine.

Yay, everybody! The Short Stories Critics Club has been approved by Hahli Husky, so I can go ahead and start making it! So this one has a friendly rival!

I rather say that we have a partner in crime, tackling short stories!

Now, let me clarify the rules!

Let me emphasize: It is up to the critics here to choose which request they'd attend to. So as long as your epic is in The List, it will be attended to.

However, now it seems that I must add in a new rule that all epics have to be attended to, in chronological order. It seems to be creating a fair bit of havoc, and I understand that critics have the same goal as me to clear up the list and see to everyone's request. That being so, I hope this rule helps to make things fair and straightforward, and prevent authors from getting their feathers ruffled.

Another thing: If anything has to be taken up with a single critic, I remind epic authors with this rule: PM the critic yourself, and settle the matter between the two of you. This topic here is for receiving requests, attending to requests, and completing requests (aside from rules and epic critic recruitment).

Next, two notes: Yes, more than one critic can review the same epic, and yes, critics must post back here to report that they've reviewed the epic - and tell me the title of the epic you've reviewed too. Just making a note about it again.

Thank you, Toa_Ausar, for being patient. I could've made a mistake in The List - good grief, why am I making mistakes?! - and hence the confusion came about. Glad that you're receptive of the other critics' approaches to attend to your epic. Everyone likes a good and enjoyable read, aye? Let's put this matter to rest.

Next matter, about a new rule...

Critics have told me that past authors have made note of critics not reviewing the entire epic when they wanted to, or critics not focusing on certain chapters that they want reviewed. Some critics would also like to know about the epics' status, and how much work they've to do if they're in a fixed time limit. I have spoken to all critics and we have agreed that this new rule would help eradicate this problem.

So, the new rule is that:

- Authors MUST state the state of their epic, with either these three options, or the number of chapters the epic has. For example, one can state whether his/her epic is: New, In Progress, or Finished, OR state the number of chapters he/she'd like an epic critic to review: Chapters 9 to 12, 4 chapters.

This will help make the job easier for the critic who reviews your epic. It'll also allow you to get your epic reviewed by chapters where you think you made progress, or if you think a chapter is lacking the kick and would like a critic to check it out.

So, that's it for now. I've been away doing my assignments - they come in swarms, I tell you. I'm going back to my web assignment. Critics, if anything funny happens, PM me.

I would like to request someone review my Epic, "The Continent". It's very new and quite short right now (all of three chapters). Some criticism would be very helpful at this stage so I can improve quickly and fix any mistakes I've made or add things I've omitted. I wish to say that I would prefer not to review stories that have official canon characters(Tahu, Lewa, Lesovikk, Makuta/Teridax, Helryx, et cetera), so perhaps, <dd>, you could take into consideration making it a rule to state the status of the characters, such as if it includes canon characters or storyline at all?

Also, I don't believe you understood me when I said about the chapters. I meant that I would've liked to see the number of chapters listed, not just the completion status and how much they wanted reviewed.
