Once again, we get an inside look at the lives of the Toa -- this time Tahu -- in the third Toa Telephone Interview. (Thanks to Toa Nuva vs Makuta for the Takua paternity topic, and to Gir for the Lewa/Onua babysitting topic.) I paged him, and he called me back from his mobile phone in Po-Koro.
 Interview with  Tahu, Toa of FireGaliGee: Thanks for agreeing to talk to us. The BZCommunity members are looking forward to hearing from the unofficial leader of the Toa. Tahu: You're quite welcome. Our fans mean a lot to us. GaliGee: LEGO always puts you in front of the Toa group shots. How do you feel about that? Tahu: It's OK, I guess. It's always a little flattering to get extra attention. But I hear they have a picture of me wearing a krana, and that really gets me steamed. I hope it's just a promotional image, and not a prophesy! GaliGee: How did you get to be the leader of the Toa? Tahu: Well, I just sensed a need for a leader, so I stepped forward, and no one challenged me. At first, anyway. GaliGee: At first? Have you been challenged since then? Tahu: Well, it's no secret that Kopaka and I have had our differences, but he's been very respectful, and usually he's been right! So I welcome that kind of dissention. GaliGee: Can you give us an example of how you're different? Tahu: His approach is always more measured and careful, while I tend to rush into things. For example, when we first landed on Mata Nui, he saw Matoro and spoke with him, gathering as much information as he could. My first encounter with Tohunga was, well, almost tragic. If it hadn't been for Vakama -- to whom I will be forever grateful -- I would have incinerated my own villagers! GaliGee: Vakama was wise to step in. Tahu: And brave. I have nothing but the utmost respect for Vakama, and Jala, and all of his brave guard. GaliGee: How about Takua? A BZ topic speculated that you and Gali could be his parents. Tahu [laughs]: I can see why it looks that way. There is definitely a resemblance! But no, of course not. [whispering] Wait -- here come Gali and Pohatu. Maybe I can get her going! [loudly] Why, I'm very proud of Takua. After we defeat the Bohrok, Gali and I plan to have some more children -- [in a strained voice] -- please get your hooks off my neck -- they know I'm just kidding -- GaliGee: Tahu, are you OK? Tahu: Whew. GaliGee: Sorry, Tahu, I should have warned you that Gali got a little defensive when I asked her about that. Tahu: Wow. She was really close to me. She smells so nice. I must remember to tease Gali more often... GaliGee: Tahu? Tahu: What? Oh, uh, Gali. Gali has encouraged us to work together from the very beginning. And that has made all the difference. GaliGee: What do you think of Lewa? Tahu: He's had a lot of great ideas. Not to mention what a good fighter he is! He and Onua make a great team, and have come up with a lot of ingenious traps for our enemies. They made a huge pit, covered with tree branches, with a clever mechanism that wouldn't trip for a Tohunga. Only the Bohrok fell in! GaliGee: Is Onua Lewa's babysitter? Tahu: [laughs] That's funny! But, kind of... GaliGee: And Pohatu? If he's standing there, and you don't want to answer -- Tahu: No problem. I have nothing but good things to say about Pohatu. He's such a dependable friend, and of course he has awesome mastery over the landscape! How he can move such huge masses of stone with such perfect control is really beyond me. GaliGee: What's next in the battle against the Bohrok? Tahu: Actually, now that you mention it -- I need to go meet with Kopaka now. He says he has something really important to show me about that. We've got all of the krana -- I think -- of course, we finally had to order that pesky Lehvak Xa on eBay because the Walmart in Po-Koro was all sold out of krana packs. GaliGee: What? You can buy krana on Mata Nui? What's the point of fighting the Bohrok? Tahu: Ha, ha, I had you going there for a minute -- GaliGee: Now we see a funny side of you that we didn't know about! Tahu: Yes, if we couldn't laugh once in a while, we would go crazy. GaliGee: True. Tahu: Well, I gotta go. Kopaka says it's important. GaliGee: Thanks so much for your time, Tahu. And go blast those Bohrok! Tahu: No problem. Tell the BZ members thanks for all their support. GaliGee: I will. Bye. [click] So, BZ members, there's Tahu's perspective on things. Yep, just beating a dead horse.  It's just fun to get a rise out of the Toa, even though everybody knows it can't be true. But God bless Toa Nuva vs Makuta for giving us such great comedy material! (  Realizing with horror that she has forgotten to credit Toa Nuva vs Makuta on the Toa Telephone Interviews topic... pales... grabs desperately for mouse... )

Yes, they are, but sometimes you need a spokesman to step forward to speak for the group, or organize an effort, and I think Tahu's personality just made him a natural leader.Notice that he never gives orders, just gathers all the Toa's ideas, and suggests a plan.
