i know. how about masks as items
when you ram somebody, they go flying
generates a shield to protect you from getting rammed.
allows you to drive on the ocean floor in certain levels that have water. also makes you transparent and invincible against ramming. no one goes flying, they simply pass right through you.
if you can jump in this game,(you can do it in mario cart 64.) this mask increases your jumping ability.
reveals a hidden tunnel. that is impossible to enter unless you find this mask.
like a mushroom only you simply go faster instead of igniting jets. i know, a lot about ramming but that was all i could think of.

Actually I own 15 games for n64, 5 for gbc, I can't find all of my snes games and 3 play station games. And I'm gonna get a game cube and maybe a gba. That's over 20 games total.

Yeah, the Hau could be like the star and everyone you touch could bounce away or crash. You know like the Lewa and Onua video. You know what, huna could be like ghost. Matatu could steal an item. Or one item could be the Huna and the Matatu together and that would really be like the ghost.

invinsble for 5 seconds - Rare
bumps people aside - Uncommon
go underwater for 3 seconds - Rare
jumps you one person ahead - Uncommon
like ghost in Mario Kart (invisible & steal an item) - Uncommon
speed boost - Common

I was going to make a game like this. It wotld be called Tohunga Races. The Masks would be different weapons.

Let's you jump over your opponent

Let's you squirt 3 water blasts at your opponent

Gives you a boost

Let's you send X-Ray beams to your opponent.

Let's you shield from an attack of anykind for 5 seconds

 :pakari: Let's you speed up to your opponent and throw them off course.

Maybe you can use those Ideas.

Might aswell give you my game Ideas if I was making the same concept.

It's sad that your using complicated programming like that. You should go to Google.com and search for Klik & Play. I can make a racing game in a matter of a week, hour, or month. It would take me as long as you'res would probably be. I would be able to help you find this program, but I don't remember what site is was on. (It was A Program in Stores that was realeased like in 96, you can downlaod the full version for free somewhere.) Search on Google to make your game better and have less effort in making it. P.S. It can run on 32-bit color sttings, but the program can only handle 256. But it's not that big of a deal.

By 'system', I'm assuming you mean the controlls? ??? If I'm wrong, then post again and explain what you mean a little more. The controlls will be pretty standard, arrow keys move you around, space is to use an item (you will be able to drag an item by holding space, by the way), and enter is to pause.
