Help: has anyone EVER gotten past all those obnoxious Rahi at Kini-Nui? I battle and battle those suckers, but about the fourth round in (it's usually dual Muaka), after I lose one or two or three Tohunga, they just... stop throwing and nothing happens. Refreshing the screen starts the sequence from the beginning with the easiest Rahi.

My problem is everybody moves, so it's not a frozen screen or anything, but the Muaka don't attack and the Tohunga just jump up and down but don't attack.

I've been doing this for over an hour(!) and frankly I'm not that patient a guy.

Anyone else having this problem?

Heck, I think about half of us are stuck. LEGO needs to get new developers.

I think I've gotten past Onewa- he didn't un-lock up, but I found the chisel in my inventory anyway- but now Nokama won't look at the chisel or give me the episode book.

Uh...the Astrologer gives you the Book, not Nokama.

Scoop* - Just discovered that the online game is finally updated. Take the bird to Ga-Koro. There are guards at the door and stakes around everything. Wanted to let people know about the update, I'm gonna continue on now.

Don't everyone hog the bandwidth at once!

Yeah, I'm having trouble too... I found Maku first and she joined, but I lost her somewhere around Onu-Koro and can't get her back. Still a bit buggy, apparently.

Never a Mata Nui glitch? You're very lucky, I envy that. What is your hardware/software setup?

I'm not sure it's the system as much as the steps you play in the game. I've got a Compaq Presario 900MHz PIII with 384MB RAM running IE6 on a Win2K Server with ADSL (I'm a web developer), so it's a fairly studly box and connection. It doesn't seem to be a resource issue.

I did restart the game from scratch and did just the minimum, and was able to get through with all my Tohunga without a problem. This is why I think it's what else you do in the game rather than what you run it on that makes the difference.

I have a hard time buying that, Lego is a first-class outfit that has the cash to get good developers. Believe me, the developers know what's live and what isn't.

It's a rule of thumb that you never post updates on a Friday in case there are problems; but if you're going to do it, give it a couple of days before promoting the fact so that the diehards (that means us) can hammer it as "gamma testers". I can pretty much guarantee the developers are working this weekend, following the progress, and documenting bugs for fixes.

Well OK, there's one other scenario:

Lego Exec: What? You're behind schedule? Launch the bloody thing! We have to keep our fans happy!

Flash Programmer: It's still buggy, sir. We'll just upset them if we release it in this state.

Lego Exec: See this pen? It signs your checks. Now, when were you going to release the next chapter?

Flash Programmer: (sighs) As you wish, sir. I'll see to it. You may want to unplug your email this weekend unless you want your PC to explode.

That's true, it seems to work well if you go through it just once. Personally, I find it's more fun to power through each update to see what the end result "payoff" is, then go back at my leisure and see what's out there that I missed the first time. It's also nice to be able to go back and review something if you have a question about it, for instance if you read in a forum here about a new kind of mask someone might be wearing.

I think my games screwed. I got the sundail needle, put it in and talked to the dude again and he gave me another letter! Now I cant get rid of it and I cant get pohatu to come down and stop the scorpion no matter what I do!

I solved it by Clicking the thing to go to Bionicle.com and going back.  I think I actually do best with Muaka, Tarakava, and Nui Jagas.

Circumstantial proof, anyway. That just means the sequential numbering of .swf files stopped at 10, and does not rule out a filename like "chronicler_kicks_butt.swf" or another winning file that nobody's gotten to.

But at least I'm not the only one with this problem...

However, I find it odd that now that we're at this point, we're stuck and can't do anything else for months. That is counter to the update scheme Lego has released to date, where you aren't forced into a locking action (except for bugs).

I think it more likely that the freezing thing is a bug and once it's fixed, you'll be able to finish kicking Rahi behind and go do other things. If I were designing this game, this is certainly not the way I'd choose to end a "chapter," and Lego is anything but dumb. I opt to give them the benefit of the doubt, since leaving it like this will just frustrate people, who might very well lose interest and wander off.

I've played on the same user every time, on 3 different computers and never a glitch.  Probably because once I know thats the end of the update, I stop playing.  Because you all talk about glitches after the update.  Like the Po-Koro reset glitch, so I didn't check, I just didn't go back on till the update.

Grr... I have the same problem!  Also, Whenua won't even pay attention to me, even when I click on him!  Also, Onewa notices that I have Hafu, but I can only ask things like "Who is Pohatu?" (same with Nokama and Maku.)

I cant find taipu.  He should be sitting by where the onu-koro mine meets the le-koro jungle.  Is anyone else having trouble with him or is he just somewhere else?

yes. me too. man i've fought at least 12 rounds. still nothing happens. and the freezing continues. it's only happened to me when everyone is in their battling pose and someone dies. the rahi assume their battle pose then silence.

I am really mad I can't even get into the game anymore. Whenever I click on the thing to get to the game it just brings me to the screen that says "page not found" or something like that and I keep refreshing the page but it says the same thing. I haven't been able to play the game for about two months! I haven't even been to Le-Koro yet!

NOKAMA THE TURAGA OF GA_KORO GIVES YOU THE CHRONOBOOK WHEN YOU DRAG THE CHISEL TO HER.  Sound like you ran into another glitch.
