[Beliwa: Toa of D...]

There is no easy way to write this.

This topic is coming to you not from the person who created the username and identity 'Beliwa', but from a good friend of his, and it will be the last time anyone writes under his username. Many of those closest to him on BZPower may have noticed that his behaviour on BZPower had become protracted or erratic, and that he had shied away from it for reasons he did not reveal to you. The reasons are now ones which I myself must reveal: that he had been sufferign from a long illness, from which he has died.

Due to obvious reasons of legal privacy, I am unable to reveal the name of the person who called himself Beliwa, nor his location or the illness he was suffering from. I myself have always believed that his time on this website was hazardous to his mental if not physical health, a viewpoint he began to share in his last few months with us; I recall his stated reason for having quit BZPower and the Bionicle franchise was his opinion that 'It's Never Going To Get Finished, Is It?'.

In his last few weeks, 'Beliwa' inscribed a small note for me which revealed his exploits on BZPower, as well as his username, password, and several messages he wished me to pass on to the people he had known, after his death. I write them down here.

To 'Lady Kopaka' - "Dear old Suzie. I'm truly sorry for any of the pain I caused you during the time when we knew each other, but I'm glad that everything was properly ironed out and that nothing 'happened'. I truly hope that you're happy wherver you and whoever you're with, and I'd like to wish you the best of luck with everything - most especially your talent at art. I also hope that at some point, soon, you'll obtain a copy of Jill Paton Walsh's "Knowledge of Angels" and read it cover to cover. I'm also very very sorry that I deceieved you in that last note of mine, but I foolishly thought I was evading any undue stress and worry."

To 'Phyoohrii' - "You were always a truly good friend, Phy, even though I never knew your real name. Thanks for all the support you gave me, and everything we did together - and I hope all your future projects go well."

To 'Raka' - "Ah, the Prince of the Undead. To you I owe a tremendous debt, old pal, because without you I'd never have made a head on BZP at all. Even now, I can recall the very day I opened my Private Messages to read your invitation for a guest spot on 'Nosferatu'. Thanks for everything, Raka, and don't ever stop drawing!"

To 'Uncle Krekka' - "Man, I've never known anyone in the 'net with as much mad personality and honest opinions as you. All the best, and like I said to Raka & Lady K - keep drawing!"

To 'Vezok's Friend, Galphine, and all the other players of Bionicle Kingdoms' - "We had some good times, didn't we. It may seem far off now, but sometimes I pull up the old locked RPG pages and it's as if they're being posted at this very minute. Farewell, everyone - and please don't feel that you shouldn't carry on the Bionicle Kingdoms tradition without me. It's yours, guys, with my blessing."

To 'The Readers of Crossroads' - "I only realized just now, in writing this, that I'll never properly finish that Epic. Ah, that is a shame. Well, be comforted in the knowledge that every guest star would have been used to their full potential, and that the story would have twisted and turned in mad mad ways that would have sent your hearts soaring. Honest. As with BK, please don't feel that you shouldn't carry on the story without me - it's yours. Anyone's. Go wild."

To 'The BZP Admins, and GregF' - "You do a good job, all of you. Really. I can't say I ever agreed with the 'Protodermis' ranking system - I don't like people judging each other like that - but everything else was just fine. And GregF may be one of the most tolerant and patient authors to ever answer internet fanmail, he really might."

To 'The small perecntage of people who have the manic belief that someone who calls themselves 'Demon' is going to ######' - "You're obviously wrong. Deal with it."

To 'Anyone I've Left Out' - "Gosh, I am sorry. There's just so many people, and I'm not sure I could list all of them. Suffice to say that you were all a good part of my life, even if it was a part that I had to cut away from. And even if I talked to you for only a second, it was still a human interaction, and I'm glad of that. Good Luck to all of you."

Those of us at home are glad that our friend had died peacefully and painlessly in his sleep, and that his suffering was not prolonged. We honour the memory of a good person and a willing friend, and I personally hope that you will also.

As far as I knew him, Beliwa was a good guy with an incredible imagination and sense of loyalty to his friends. It's awful to see somone like that pass so suddenly, and I'm so sorry to hear this. May his family have the strength and comfort they need in the upcoming weeks.

I'd seen Beliwa around before, he seemed like a real nice guy. It's sad to hear he has passed away, I hope his family and friends can gather all the strength they need. R.I.P. man.

EDIT: My goodness I remember him now, he requested a sig from me a while ago... he was such a nice fella. Such a sad loss. =(

Makes you think though. Many of us who are here can call BZPers friends and family, although we've never seen one another. But that's not the point is it? Like a lot of people posting here, I didn't know Beliwa. Yet, his death greatly saddens me. Gives a new meaning to the existence of BZPower.

I can't believe this. At first, I thought I never knew Beliwa, but after looking at your profile, I actually do remember him, under the name "Matt Murdock: Daredevil" that is. Though I was never a friend of his, and he had grown ill by the time I joined, this still shook me just the same. I feel terrible for his family and friends, they must feel awful, having him die at such an early age, and I wish they are well.

I still can't believe he is gone, however I know he will live on still within our hearts.

Even though I had only spoke to him a few times, I still regarded him as my friend, I hope he is in a better place now

I did not know Beliwa that well on Bzpower, but still- he was quite the recognizable member. Wow... I never thought something like this would happen on Bzp ... The death of a Bzp'er. I'm finding this shocking, really, it's just so sad... Well, I find this to be a dark day.

The death of one, no matter who they are, is still a tragic thing indeed.

Even though I did not know Beliwa, as he was before me, I must still offer my condolences to his family, to his friends, to those that knew him and to those that never would.

I, sadly, only got to really know Beliwa in the last year or so, but, from what I knew of him, he was a great guy. An amazing RPer, a great storyteller, and an awesome friend. His RPG gave me my start in RPing, and I can't thank him enough for that, and all the good times I'd had within it.

Looking back, I remember on one occassion, he asked me to help him with an issue I won't mention. Gladly, I offered my services, and I really hope that helped ease his life up at least a bit before his passing.

All in all, please, take a moment to remember our friend, everyone.

I don't know exactly what to say. I remember I first met Beliwa when reading Nosferatu, though I didn't know him. I played in his RPG for a while and read his epic, and he was a fantastic writer. Very talented, and I hope we all realize that. He asked me to guest-star in my comics and I was overjoyed. I wish peace to his family, friends, and himself.

Oi... I'm not sure what to say. I did not know Beliwa well, I read some of his epic and tried out his RPG for a short while, and I remember reading his last post in Bionicle Kingdoms: Redemption and thinking it was amazing. He was a great writer. I hope he led a good life.
