OOC: Xyron probably wouldn't use his earth powers unless absolutely necessary, as he has a hard time controlling them.
IC: Xyron took the blows but followed up with an earth attack. This was too draining, though, for him to continue with, so instead, he sent a gust of wind at Xytok. However, at the same time, Xytok and his clones sent a gust of wind towards Xyron. The gusts countered each other, creating a void that suddenly turned into a twister, lifting Xytok, his clones, and Xyron into the air. Even then, the two contenders pulled out their blades and attacked. This post has been edited by xccj: May 29 2008, 10:45 PM -------------------- |

IC: Vren dodged the fireballs with ease and then he snapped his fingers as a powerful gust of wind came by towards his opponent.

It was just himself and Xyron now, although, considering that Xyron was unconscious once again, it was practically just himself there in their entrance to the arena. IC: Tarugo sat down and leaned against the wall. He was glad that he had won and that Xytok wasn't about to die any more, but something still nagged at him. Would his team be able to handle the rest of the tournament? They were barely winning as it was. Tarugo really wanted that prize but if he and his team couldn't beat the other teams, what could they do? As his thoughts drifted away from the battle currently taking place he started to go over what he knew about Tsukan fortress that probably held the prize. He didn't know much, so preparation would be needed to pull off what he wanted to do. A lot of preparation...

OOC: Ah. You strike for the cannon's barrel. Too bad it can still fire. Plus, he has 6 eyes. Even with the back one, he can see you about to fire at him.
IC: Zangrilax was peppered by the acid, which burned. It was a good thing he could close his front eyes while leaving the back one open. He was distracted by avoiding the acid in 5 eyes, but then he saw Srizz was about to try to cripple him by cutting through his Rhotuka launcher. Almost reflexively, he fired a Matatu spinner at the exposed blade. He manipulated it out of his grasp, and into his other hand, which no longer held the boomerang. A wiser opponent would have gone for my eyes as well, he thought. How tasteless of the petite, obese Lohrak. Srizz was about to hit a overly raised pillar (which conveniently contained a Madu Kovian had just so happened to bring above the ground,) when the pillars began to sink, and Srizz regained control of his flight after the shock. OOC: I await Kovian's terrain change. Gotta go for today. This post has been edited by Neya Darkaea RB Toa Hybrid: Jun 10 2008, 10:02 PM -------------------- |

OOC: What are the giants standing on? The image I got was of a great, boiling lake with razor-sharp spikes of ice protruding randomly from the surface of the water. For that matter, how do they not melt?
IC: Srizz was glad he was high aloft and even gladder that Bladelord was not. Boiling water, he thought happily. Now the terrain's in my favour - and considering how well I did when it wasn't this might just be in the bag. Wasting no time, the gladiator soared up high and clung to the tip of one of the spikes - Trying to perch on one would be like asking to have his tail cut off - and waited to see how Bladelord reacted to this sudden change. Srizz could withstand the heat of the water, at least for a few moments, but Bladey had yet to show any remarkable resistance to heat. The gladiator's muscles tensed as he pulled out another throwing knife. He did not want to miss his chance if it arose. -=VM=- -------------------- Everybody with your fist raised high,

OOC: Don't forget, he can improvise. Keep in mind that Srizz may be fast, but I highly doubt he's Jedi. Or Sith, for that matter. Deflecting all of the blasts with a blade that might not even be the size of a lightsaber will certainly prove a challenge.
Plus, he has Kakama. With enough of them, he can fire so rapidly, not even Srizz could dodge/reflect the assault for long. IC: Zangrilax saw the blasts reflected. Fortunately, it helped he had time to react, but it still almost hit his hip. He must be taking advantage of the energetic nature of my attacks. Gah! How do I stop this? Between dodges, he noticed a Madu Cabolo had for some reason near him remained intact, even after all of this. It must have been here before, and somehow, the ice around it had to have melted. Wait a minute, if I use enough Rhotuka, he'll never be able to stand a chance at dodging/reflecting. Plus, if this baby gets in the horde of spinners, that yotta zetta exa peta tera pico femo atto septo yocto lung-Ruki on steroids (the tasteless things,) I could give him a taste of his own medicine! He Kakama-ed himself 5 times, and prepared... OOC: The insult line I made was a tremendous extension of Father Callahan's zetta. I figured that all of the other metric prefixes for over 1,000,000,000 and all the ones under its reciprocal could be used as Bionicle insults. -------------------- |

OOC: I didn't doubt he could improvise, but that first blocked attack was meant to be rapid-fire, like a single line of blasts one after the other. He just had to hold his sword still to deflect them. And it was only one attack. Though now you mention it, the speed and strength I had envisioned for him would be comparable to a Jedi, but even they must get hit sometimes. The robots and clones in Star Wars are just terrible shots, which I'm assuming Bladelord isn't. Also, no Force powers.
IC: Srizz saw the colour of the spinners with which Bladelord hit himself (repeatedly) and gulped, though he was far enough away that it wasn't apparrent. Luckily he still hadn't strayed too far from the icy spikes. Knowing that Bladey was about to do something Srizz would regret (very fast) he did the one thing he could: He folded his wings in mid-air and dropped like a stone toward the scalding water below. Anyone who didn't know of Srizz's resistance to heat would have gaped at the sheer idiocy of this. Those who did would still be suitably surprised. That surprise was the one thing keeping Bladelord from firing at Srizz with some rhotuka, or possibly more light blasts. But although Srizz could withstand the water for a few seconds, he had no intention of actually going in. As soon as he came within three bio of the water Srizz spread his wings and flapped them powerfully to keep himself aloft. Luckily the hot air was good for pushing against. The moment he was safe, the gladiator performed a wingover (arial turn-around) and zoomed back to the icy ring. By this time Bladelord was no doubt used to such spectacular arial maneuvres, so he simply fired a score of rhotuka in quick succession, but Srizz was ready. He folded his wings again, and this time he hit the water with a great splash. As soon as he was under, Srizz began using his wings to propel himself forward, toward the icy ring encircling the lake. Once he got within five bio of it, he leapt from the water, twirled in the air to remove the cumbersome liquid and zoomed across the last few feet toward the edge of the ice. As soon as he landed Srizz rolled forward to avoid a barrage of light blasts (which subsequently melted the spot where he had just been) and kicked off from the ground, launching himself behind one of the needle-like spires that jutted out randomly from the frozen ring. The Haaz'ryz took a breather. But only a brief one. After that he jabbed his sword into the ice and pried out a crystal, which he polished with the blade by cutting off the edges as smoothely as he could. Eventually he could see himself in the surface, which was just what he wanted. He could use this crystal to refract or reflect Bladey's attacks, assuming he stuck to the same methods, which was somewhat unlikely by this point. Srizz hoped, he prayed that Bladelord was as habitual as he was ugly. -=VM=- -------------------- Everybody with your fist raised high,

IC: "So, Ka then, have you or Sharkfast seen anything odd recently? Like people's eyes turning purple, or strange 'things' just happening, as if they were suddenly full of energy?" Cragite asked.
Ka shook his head "No, and Sharkfast wants to know why you're asking." "Well, it's complicated..." Cragite looked up to Sharkfast, then to the battlefield "Ka, I think you should stay with Sharkfast." Ka raised an eyebrow "Why?" "I... have a feeling. A feeling that things are about to get much worse." he lied. He didn't have a feeling about it, he knew things were going to get worse. "Why?" Ka asked. "Why are things going to get worse?" Cragite hated too many questions, so he simply said "There has been a dimensional breech of Hanyue Level 7 status, intercepting an immense power source of a dimensional frequence slightly different to all of us beings, and our surroundings. I'm unsure of the exact source or intervention dispersal point, there may even be an event-horizon, but so ar, I haven't found one." Ka looked at him, mouth gawping, completely bewildered. Cragite sighed "We're all in danger. Stick with Sharkfast for now, I suggest you don't go anywhere alone, or else you may never be seen again." OOC: Yep, that was his simple explanation -------------------- "I'm sorry, what did you say? I was too busy erasing your existance!"

OOC: Sorry, Cragite, don't care. Maybe a paradox will clobber Srizz for me.
IC: Zangrilax faked part of it. The light blasts the second time were weakened. Plus, Srizz was right where Zangrilax wanted him. He had been shown Srizz's resistance to boling water, but he figured that it couldn't be THAT strong compared to how long he could potentially drown him. He got ready. 1, He charged his spinners for a rapid blast, dodging a throwing knife with intense relfexes from the Kakama spinners but firmly holding the Madu... 2, His laucher glowed with energy... 3! Even Srizz was surprised to see a cloud of 33 spinners start to swarm after him. Zangrilax threw his Madu into the horde, getting rid of one as Zangrilax telekinetically manipulated the Madu... Srizz realized it would be pointless to send a Matatu back at Zangrilax. He tried to reflect the blasts, and he did a good number of them. The rest, he dodged. Except for the Madu, which Zangrilax telekinetically homed in to his wingtip... Boom. Srizz was forced to move over the boiling pool so he could take advantage of the thermal enough to still fly, while flapping his battered wing intensely. Apparently, the Madu's outsides had done their job of beating up the wing so the membranes would be imbalanced. He'd have to come down and fight without those wings eventually, or he'd fall in without a way to get out. Naturally, he came back to the edge, perching on a spike. He readied more throwing knifes, obviously angry at this. His amulet was feeding his battered wing more strength, but for a little while, he'd have to fight grounded. Still, Zangrilax felt definite fatigue after firing so many Rhotuka. He fired a Kiril up, just enough so he could heal and support his tired body enough to reliably dodge. OOC: Don't worry, he'll heal Srizz at the end of the battle. I'm just temporarily disabling him until the battle. Besides, the amulet will eventually heal him anyway, as far as I'm and Zangrilax is concerned. -------------------- |

OOC: I don't think I was clear earlier: The amulet only restores energy in the areas it's supposed to enhance; speed, strength and senses. It doesn't heal in the slightest.
IC: Srizz had one chance. He thought of it immediately, with the kind of quick thinking brought on by desperation. Bladelord was charging a healing rhotuka. Srizz hurriedly leapt behind a spire again and, being an unorthodox thinker, unwrapped the cloth from his sword handle. Once it was all off he crudely bandaged his wing. It wouldn't fly very far, but it should be enough to get him across that lake. Hopefully. Srizz had a simple plan. It was daring, reckless, and very last-resort. Still, worst case scenario, Bladelord hit him with something again, and that was a constant danger anyway. It was just considerably more likely now. He started by climbing up the spire. No flying for him just yet, he didn't want to stress the bandage. Srizz still had the refraction crystal stored away in his backpack, leaving his hands free (well, one had a sword, but he used that as a makeshift pick) for climbing. Bladelord seemed to be getting antsy. Kakama spinners enhanced both speed and coordination, but a lot of them at once had to have an adverse side-effect. Such as maybe impatience, rashness, the need to stay active, that sort of thing. By the time Srizz reached the top of the spire he seemed to be fidgeting, though even Srizz's amulet-enhanced senses couldn't tell at that distance. Now for the first part of his daring, reckless and very last-resort plan. Srizz leapt off from the razor-sharp spike and flew at top speed toward Bladelord while flapping his wings as little as he could to avoid breaking the makeshift bandage. He often had to pull something extremely dangerous/stupid to avoid getting hit by more laser blasts, but Bladey still had that regeneration rhotuka ready in case Srizz did something. Little did he know Srizz's plan hinged on just that. Once the Haaz'ryz got close enough he implemented phase two of his D.R.V.L.R.P. (daring, reckless, very last-resort plan): He pulled out his zamor launcher, shot both the madu cabolo and the acid zamor to get Bladelord too busy dodging those, and jammed the refraction crystal into the launcher. Then he executed phase three, the most dangerous and probably idiotic phase of a dangerous and probably idiotic plan: He launched the refraction crystal right into the rhotuka launcher. OOC: In theory that would cause the energy to bathe the entire area, recreating shattered structures, repairing damage to people and objects, whatever else regeneration masks/disks/resulting spinners do. Ideally it would also disrupt the launcher and cause it to malfunction, or stop working, or something, but there's not much chance of that. Still, talk about drama, eh? -=VM=- This post has been edited by Vorzahk Master: Jun 12 2008, 07:16 PM -------------------- Everybody with your fist raised high,

IC: Swerv chuckled to himself as he placed the last of his energy charges in a chamber in his diamond armor; its purpose was to house the energy charges he had created. Also, Swerv was now able to fire them from his wrist. His own style of a mini-grenade launcher. Sometimes being good with mechanical stuff could save your life.

OOC: Then I'll just have to follow you.
Lol, Quelts will be so mad at us. IC: Zangrilax fell into the forest, near the fire. The Kavinika, smelling smoke, had ran. He had to get out, considering that sage wasn't the only one in the forest. I have to get out. But how? Zangrilax was stumped. Then, it hit him. Firing a Hau at the trees around me could contain the fire long enough for me to pass through each area of the forest. If I reach Srizz and the Madu tree while I'm at it, all the better. And so he did. He fired Hau spinners at every single tree, to hold back the flame. Then, he Matatu-ed himself on top of a shield, jumped as the effect wore off, and then he leapt to several other stable-looking trees. He jumped from each to each, and right when he saw a red figure out of the corner of his eyesight: Srizz left from the flames' edge, carrying a woven basket. Of all the things- And considering he could fly instead, and there was no sudden explosion, Srizz had taken every single Madu fruit on the trees. Follow him to the huts. That's where he'll be, and there try to locate Team Dragon's hut. So, Zangrilax (who had went towards more stable-looking trees each time, Hau-ing his path to slow the fire down,) went straight east. He made it about 21 bios from Srizz. (about 100 ft) Although the fires had still licked him in places (meaning more burns to Kiril later,) he escaped relatively intact, but tired as can be. Considering the results before (and that burning down Srizz's hut would be stupid,) he moved casually behind Srizz, trying to beat him to his hut. And Srizz, just 3 bios ahead of him, reached his hut, and went inside Oh well. I think I may need to burn down Srizz's house. But only if we're facing each other off on the same day. He needed breakfast, and so did Srizz. Zangrilax decided to take the better part of organized crime (or valor, depending on if you're a hero or a villain) and remain discrete. So, he went at a tangent to the energy pillar site. After all, that way, he'd be less likely to be seen. -------------------- |

OOC: Just so you know, the reason Srizz didn't fly was because even his strength has its limits. Also a stray spark from the fire could have set off the whole basket and blown pretty much the entire forest to smithereens. On a similar note, if you do burn down his house while the cabolo are inside, the whole living area will likely be vaporized.
IC: Srizz didn't notice Bladey until after he'd recharged. He was just too focused (and for good reason) on getting his strengths back after all that hard and hasty work. When he placed his hand on the pillar, though, he almost immediately noticed the four-legged freak doing the same. He looked a bit burnt from the fire, but he'd probably kiril that away in no time. Srizz's naturally suspicious mind wondered if he'd been followed. Bladey had, after all, tried to find the cabolo grove. That meant Srizz may have to hide the cabolo. A few plans flashed through his mind, but nothing he could act on now. So instead he just sidled up to Bladelord and asked casually, as though attempting to blow him up was all par for the course (which it was at this point), "Sso, how'd you get out of the foresst fire you sstarted? Wait, don't tell me, you ussed those hau sspinnerss, right?" Bladelord looked somewhat taken aback that he had been noticed. Apparently he overestimated his ability to remain unnoticed. Even in mixed company most of the beings around Xatai were essentially bipedal. An overgrown Nidhiki wannabe stood out like a fireball in a water village. -=VM=- -------------------- Everybody with your fist raised high,

"well since you decided to stay up there with the rest of the alpha gammas you mist the fact that the Island is dieing and cragite is the only one that can save us but if it doesn't work we all die." tertrax looked at sharkfast who couldn't believe that tertrax said so many rude things to him.

OOC: Sorry, my bad.
IC: "I think you're a freak in sseveral wayss," Srizz answered casually, "but that'ss not one of them." Srizz turned to leave, then stopped and added "Oh, and you really sshould get a bath. That fire'ss made you look almosst more repulssive than usual. Almosst." Srizz intentionally tasted the air with his tongue on the last word. The effect was purely aesthetic, but it was a seriously creepy form of it. Now it was time to see if the judges had come to a decision. Srizz thought about taking a leisurely stroll through the forest while it was still on fire, but he decided against it. Though even the intensity of a forest fire couldn't really hurt him, it could certainly get uncomfortable. Instead he leapt onto one of the pillars, feeling the charge as energy rushed into him, and sprang into the air. He unfurled his wings and flapped them for a minute to gain comfortable altitude, then soared over to the forest fire, where he rode the hot air and smoke rising from the flames like an updraft. He loved the heat playing across him like sunlight on the beaches back home. It was one of the few things he missed. No, that was a lie, and Srizz didn't like to lie to himself (while thinking nothing of lying to others). He really did miss his home islands. Sure most of the people were pacifist losers, but the island chain itself had warm, sunny beaches, tropical forests and fruit, waves for water-sliding on with boards carved from the wood of said forests... He'd go back if he didn't know for certain the other islanders would lynch him for killing the elder. Ah, well. Srizz snapped out of his daydream and realized he'd overshot the beach, ending up almost a kio from the shore. He cursed out loud. No more daydreaming, he thought angrily as he swung around in mid-air to fly back to the colder, harsher beach of Xatai. -=VM=- -------------------- Everybody with your fist raised high,

IC: Tertrax was at the energy pillars now and was charging when he saw a little thing that looked like ka, sharkfasts arm, "dang it little alpha fallowed me I'll teach him to mess with me." So tertrax went over to ka and confronted it, "so where is sharkfast I just want to know." then tertrax cracked his knuckles and did a horrifying grin.

OOC: Toa MoE, did you get Vorik's permission to destroy his arm?
IC: Kovian, after deciding to do another scan of the area, found something rather odd about the ice in his dome. His inferared vision showed that the ice was growing slightly hotter than it should have been - and yet it was not melting. He was unsure about whether or not this was a good or a bad thing; but judging from the lack of notice from any of his companions, he decided to keep it to himself. Unless, of course, they suddenly noticed the icrease in the ice's temperature. But what were the chances of them suddenly finding a way to tell? -------------------- ![]() (Credit to Kal the Guardian for the banner.) OOC: Slowing explosions would be the power of time does he have that because that would be sightly unfair.
IC: "ah ah ah," tertrax said as he teleported right in front of ka and let loose a giant blast of fire at him. "you must die or get sharkfast mad because of a serious injury. -------------------- |

IC: Srizz had gotten bored watching the forest burn. By now he was sitting next to the flame cooking whatever poor, dumb rahi came running out of the forest with its tail on fire. It was like the universe's biggest campfire. At the time all he had was a kewa on a stick, but it sounded like something big was on its way.
Srizz licked his reptilian maw. It smelled like semi-fried muaka. I'm going to enjoy this... -=VM=- -------------------- Everybody with your fist raised high,

IC: Vren grabbed the whip with a bit of hesitation and stuck it somewhere under his cloak. The bits of the spiny part got him in the side a bit, but he paid not attention to it. "What happens to them?" Vren asked as he never got the time to look over the rules fully.

IC: Sharkfast seeing the Zannak out of the corner of his eye took down the speed shield, put Ka on, put his hands in the air and yelled to the zannak, "This man tried to destroy my arm and I'm just protecting myself."

OOC: @Neya: Sorry, just saw your question. In the Winter Arena, there is Team Mask vs. Team X; and in the Spring Arena, the battle between Team Vengeance and Team Boom has "just" ended.
I'll assume that you're in the Winter Arena, since that's the only battle going on at the moment. IC: Kovian led the way toward the Winter Arena, where the only currently raging match was... raging. He figured that Blade would go there, since there wasn't really anything else to do besides watch a match. After a few moments of searching the stands, the group spotted the insectoid. They pushed their way through the crowds toward him. "Hello," Bladelord greeted. "Who got the spot?" "Srizz," Kovian answered, nodding toward the dragon-like being. "Don't look at me; I was the only one to vote for you." He turned back to his team mates, and pointed for them to back away. "Go. I need to speak with him." Once the Team Elemental memebrs were a good distance away, Kovian looked at Bladelord again. "My apologies," he began. "I truly did think you'd be better on the team; your spinner powers impressed me greatly, and I really do not want to be the one to fight you in the next round. Since we aren't on the same side, I can offer little assistance to you; however, I can help you find a team, should you not deny. What do you say?" IC: For just a moment, Srizz entertained the idea that he could listen in with his enhanced senses, but Kovian would probably figure it out. So he stood even further away from Kovian and Bladelord than the rest, to show he wasn't listening in, and watched the fight. He still had a piece of muaka liver in his pack. It was pretty nasty stuff, muaka liver, so he figured he could throw it at the loser.

OOC: Heh, I don't know where anyone is anymore. And, yeah, my last post died, so I'll retype a shorter version of it.
IC: Xyron frowned. he couldn't believe that Cragite was going to take on two at once. If he won, they won. If he lost... well, they lost. So why'd he have to go against two at once? If they lost this, then Tertrax and Sharkfast wouldn't have to worry about which would make it on the team. Xyron would be joining them in looking around for someone new. -------------------- |

IC: Already on the field, Swerv and Zyfax waited for Cragite to come meet them in the middle of the field. Swerv pulled out his one katana and started making alterations to the field. A hole here, an abnormal boulder there. When he was finished altering the field, Swerv smiled. The field was now his turf, and he always won on his turf.

OOC: Sorry, I thought I made that clear, Cragite was taunting Swerv with what he last said about "little ol' me" and all that, he wasn't saying he's "little" or weak, just slightly mocking Swerv for going to such extreme lengths. OOC: It was the 'staggered around as if drunk' that made Tarugo roll his eyes. IC: Tarugo was beginning to get bored, along with the judge. It appeared that Swerv and Zyfax had taken his advise too well and were waiting for Cragite to make the first move. However, Cragite was stalling with idle chatter while he waited for them to make the first move. Things were currently a stalemate with no end in sight. -------------------- "Don't Panic."

IC: Vren had the whip in his hands, from another's perspective they would think that he was admiring his newly won weapon, but if you look at it in Vren's perspective, well it meant something else. The very bottom of his cloak had been scorched, but somehow he had gotten out of that battle without a scratch.
Vren thought that it was because that his opponent flung seeable objects at him and his specialty was dodging and moving fast, so those weren't a problem. There were a good number of questions fluttering in his head, but he paid no heed to them. -------------------- |

IC: Tuukori eyed the spider-legged being up and down. "I haven't seen or heard of you before. I'm afraid that might mean you're an unremarkable contender." Sure, beggars can't be choosers, but that wasn't going to stop Tuukori acting as if she deserved a certain quality of teammate...

IC: Shokanar happened to hear that prig from before, Bladelord (though he didn't know his name at the time), advertise his team. With a lame name--Phanotka-Mistika? And he didn't bother holding back the chortles. Wiping an imaginary tear from his eyeslit, he snorted, "Phantoka-Mistika? What kinda name is that?"

IC: "Crusade. At least it's not an oxymoron," Shokanar pointed out. Turning to Bladelord, he commented, "Oh yes. I remember you now. You're that oversized bug that jumped my party last night and ran away when the flames got a little too hot, for you, no?"
