I was going to enter a Combustion Propulsion Launcher, but since it wasn't invented in Xia, I entered this instead.

Bio: Not much after the time Xia was first established as a weapon-making facility, the first crafters started tinkering with various experimental weaponry. These Vortixx wanted a versatile weapon, one that could be easily mass-produced yet still had decent power. And such they started concocting various plans and ideas for different types of weapons. The first few proposed projects were utter failures, as they all lacked some sort of essential feature. However, they combined the best features as best as they could and made a prototype. This prototype was a simple elemental booster in the shape of a large teardrop that converted elemental energy into a ballistic projectile.

However, this prototype was too simple to be of much use, so the crafters started adding more and more features. First, they changed the built-in connection system into a port, and they designed a separate object that could be custom-made into a nearly infinite number of possibilities. This system could be simply plugged into the weapon itself, which gives the advantage of being able to replace parts easily.

Next, they took advantage of the flat shape of the weapon and added an option to change the weapon into a shield, thus adding defense to offense. In addition to that, they added a perpendicular laser-like attack option that fired forwards even when the weapon was held up straight like a shield. This allows the user to shield him/herself at the same time as attacking, which even further increased its versatility.

Afterwards, they thought of the possibility that the user might run out of elemental energy, so they hid a large retractable pair of blades to the weapon. This allows a skilled fighter who may be unskilled in elemental control to fight efficiently.

Here, this weapon would surely be the most versatile weapon in existence. However, the Vortixx were determined to go even further. They revamped the entire layout of the weapon, adding a chamber to place a Kanoka disk into it. They added an option to the user to either use his or her own elemental energy in the ballistic fire, the Kanoka's elemental energy, or a combination of both. They also added this same option to the laser fire, further increasing the power of this weapon.

However, the Kanoka's usefulness did not end there. Using the same technology that converted elemental power into ballistic fire, the Vortixx added an energy-to-electricity converter at the blades. Apparently, the blades were made of electricity-conducting protodermis, yet the chassis was not. Likewise with the shield and the ballistic version, the Vortixx also added the Kanoka's power to the blades.

After much time, the Vortixx had an excellent weapon, yet no one to share it with. The Xian weapon creation facility was simply not well-known enough to make this weapon known. Because of this, this weapon becomes a common object in Xian facilities, often acting as an emergency weapon. In addition, the Vortixx handed out free copies of this weapon to many of their sales, as they are reluctant to just let a perfectly good weapon be wasted.

The weapon was used mainly in fortresses, turrets, and the foot soldier. Because of the versatile connection system, most things can have an Ark Blaster attached. However, because of its size, only the most skilled soldiers can wield the Ark Blaster efficiently.

It is also interesting to note that the connection system is not necessary, but recommended, just as a disk aluncher is not necessary, but recommended.

As times goes on, the weapon becomes less and less common, with many better alternatives springing up. However, there are a few populations who still use this weapon, as rare as they are.

ARK-EBW stands for All-Around Kanoka and Element-Boosting Weapon. It is often called simple the Ark Blaster for short. Also, a few creative people call it the KA-POW, for Kanoka-Powered Weapon.

How to use:
Both the user's elemental energy and the Kanoka's energy is used. However, the user can set how much of his own/the Kanoka's energy is used. For example, he or she might want to use 100% of his or her own elemental energy and 0% of the Kanoka's energy, and at other times he or she might want to use 50% for both.

Using Ballistic Shot mode, the weapon fires an orb of energy that changes according to the user's element and the user's choice of elemental to Kanoka energy ratio. For example, if the user used Fire elemental energy, then the shot would become a fireball. The default no-elemental-energy-used ballistic shot is a white orb of energy that has the same, though slightly more powerful effect as hitting someone with a Kanoka.

Using Shield mode, the weapon can be used defensively by holding it perpendicular to the ground and extending the beams from the sides. In this mode, the weapon can also fire a sweeping laser from the center of the Kanoka (or the place where the Kanoka would be) outwards. The laser's color depends on the user's element (default Kanoka color is white) and it has the same effect as the Ballistic Shot.

Using Blade mode, a pair of large blades can be extended from the top of the device, giving the weapon a melee advantage. The user can also use the blades as conductors to transmit elemental/Kanoka energy in the form of electricity. However, the target must be in close contact with the blades, though the blast can be transmitted through another electricity-conducting material.

I am in shock and awe. The backstory is incredible, and the design is so simple and effective. I can easily see this winning. I am so glad I read this topic.

That's awesome, Ary! The story is amazing (and feasible) and the weapon itself is really cool. This is one of the best entries I've seen yet!

A 3-D Plasma Shield. In 3D. Amazing! I'd say My Go- if language filters allowed it! Hope you can stand up to Bonesii's artwork!
