Hacked Accounts & Temporary Restrictions Options

Recently malicious individuals have been hacking the accounts of members on BZPower and using them to send inappropriate messages and post inappropriate posts. In some cases they have even removed members' stories, artwork, and MOCs. The administration is currently looking at multiple avenues to stop these actions from occurring. We apologize for the forum downtime that has happened as a result. In an effort to turn the forums back online we are temporarily disabling some normal functions of the forum for the time being.

The current changes are:

• Disabling of the PM system for all members.
• Disabling of the ability to post images.
• Reducing the number of failed login attempts before an account is locked.

Again, these are all temporary measures and will be reactivated as soon as we find a more permanent solution.

In addition, to help reduce the chance of your account being hacked, we recommend you follow these guidelines for creating a strong password. We also suggest that you use separate passwords for every site you go to, or at least have a separate password for BZPower.

The administration would like to thank everyone for their patience, cooperation, and understanding during this time and once again apologizes for the inconvenience.
