Kyera followed Jural down into the Control Cabin from the top deck, and, as she took in the feel of cleanliness, commented, "I notice that the... body is gone," she remarked to Jural, a little chill running up her neck as she remembered the horrid sensations she'd been granted by even seeing the dead being before.

"Yeah," Jural replied, "I figured that we wouldn't be able to fly the ship if the piloting chair was taken by a guy who wouldn't get out." Kyera gave a little, nervous laugh in response, inciting Jural to give himself a little kick in his mind. Don't make her think about that! Have you got no sense at all?

Better get out of here before I become a helpless, crying infant in front of Jural again, Kyera thought to herself, trying to ward off the lingering sense of foreboding. She walked a bit quicker than usual, making her way to the staircase leading back down into the ship's rec room, Jural taking long, easy strides behind her. But her quickness of step and preoccupied mind betrayed her to the first step.

Kyera tripped on the edge of the stair, falling forward down the staircase. Instinctively, she shot her arms out to the sides, trying to grab hold of the rails - but before she needed to stop falling, she had halted. A pair of hands had caught her shoulders.

Jural, when he'd seen Kyera stumble, had reflexively caught her. Jural felt that the muscles in her shoulders had been tensed, prepared to absorb her fall when she hit the ground. But she hadn't. As Kyera's feet reasserted themselves, Jural let go of her shoulders silently. She turned her head back a quarter-circle to look at him, and the two shared a gaze, if only for a brief moment.

Without speaking, Kyera continued to walk down the staircase, and headed for her cabin. Jural waited a few moments, watching her go, before making his own way down to the floor. He passed the Rec Room, and found that Eamus was still sitting there.

"Howdy, Jural," the Toa of Psionics said. Jural took a few steps back, and entered the Rec Room, collapsing into an armchair in a corner. He replied to Eamus with a noncommittal grunt of acknowledgement.
