Just got some questions answered, edited for convenience.

QUOTE
Hey, GregF. I hope you won't mind answering a few questions I have.

1. What exactly does the Shadowed One do with all of the wealth he obtains through his Dark Hunters? What does he have to "buy"?
1) Power and influence

2. Was the island of Mata Nui ever at some point in the past anything but a barren wasteland before the Matoran arrived on it from Metru Nui?
2) Can't answer it

3. Does Karzahni's power to make others see alternate futures come from his Kanohi?
3a. If not, does Karzahni's mask even have a power?
3aa. Would it be considered a great Kanohi?
3ab. Would it have three or four different powers because it is shaped from that many different Kanohi?
3) It does come from his mask, it is a Great Mask, and no, it does not have four powers.

4. Do you sometimes wish Scholastic would order longer BIONICLE books so you could fit in more storyline?
4) No, because they wouldn't sell. Outside of Harry Potter, long books don't sell well to kids, and most of my readers are 6-8, not 14+

5. Is Vezon capable of tolerating the Kardas Dragon's presence (his need to release the concussive force built up inside of himself) specifically because of his ability to absorb kinetic energy?
5) No, he is able to tolerate it because Kardas is not aiming at him.

6. Has Makuta been actively fighting in the BoM-DH war in his time on Mata Nui? Is Mangaia his "assigned" territory of operation?
6) His minions probably have. Generals don't fight in wars, they send others to do it for them.

7. Kini-Nui has been shown on the map of Mata Nui in a couple different locations. See this map. Which location is it -- 1 or 2?
7) Don't know. If it's not something that's relevant to a story I have had to tell, then I don't have the time to worry about it.

8. See this map. Does the Lost Land of Voya Nui encompass area 1 or 2?
8) I would say somewhere between 2 and 1, simply because I don't think the land mass that sank was that large. I could be wrong, I don't know what the map designer had in mind, but that is my read.

9. Just to clarify about the mini-contest about Bohrok in the Maze of Shadows: InnerRayg's winning entry is official storyline, right? The Toa Metru really did encounter Bohrok during their journey back to Metru Nui from Mata Nui?
9) That was the deal with BZP, but there is no reason for me to go into it in storyline since that story has already been told

10. See this image (sorry about the poor editing quality). Would Vakama as a Matoran look like 1 (maroon Matoran with a great huna with silver markings) or 2 (maroon Matoran with a noble Huna with silver markings)?
10) Vakama as a Matoran was shown in B2, so just look at that.

11. My understanding of the events surrounding the 2001 Toa's quest for the masks is this: The Turaga had hidden the Great Kanohi they had brought from Metru Nui all over Mata Nui as Toa Metru. Makuta was obviously able to find some of these Kanohi and guard them with his Rahi. The Turaga also kept the Noble Kanohi from Metru Nui in their Koro on their Suva. Before the Toa arrived, Makuta's Rahi stole into the Koro, took the Noble Kanohi, and hid them all over Mata Nui as well. When the Toa arrived, they sought out the 30 Great Kanohi, teleporting each Kanohi they put on their face back to their empty Suva. Then, they retrieved the 30 Noble Kanohi and physically returned them to the Turaga because there was no more room on their Suva. The Turaga put those Noble Kanohi in a safe, hidden place. The Toa having collected six Great Kanohi each, their six Kanohi became one Gold Kanohi on each of their Suva.
Does that sound right?
11) Yes, seems to be, although we know the Toa also used some the Noble Kanohi during that period

I hope the visual representation was effective! Thanks for your time.

Hey GregF! Hope you've had a good week with Comic-Con and everything!

1. You said that in the 2007 BIONICLE Atlas we'll learn where the Toa Mata came from. But my question is, will they find out, too? Like in the storyline, I mean. Will they find out at the same time we do?

-TOoMN-

1) No -- the Atlas is written by the Order of Mata Nui, it's not a document the Toa get to view.

I'll edit this post when I get some answers back from a batch I just sent...

Hi Mr. GregF,

I just read Power Play and I have to say it's an amazing book. However, a few things left me puzzled, so I was hoping you could answer the following questions:

1) When Garan, Velika, Kongu and Nuparu went into the Piraka stronghold, they discovered a few chambers, one of which contained trophies and training equipment. How did the Piraka ever get those things to Voya Nui? I doubt it would fit into the canisters they arrived in.
1) I realize that's incongruous, but I had to add it in the match the animations done for the Piraka. So call it artistic license.

2) They also discovered a room with the words ''Vezok'' and ''Vezon'' carved into the walls. Who carved those words? And why?
2) Vezok carved them in a fit of rage

3) Does the fact that the staircase to the Chamber of Life has 777 stairs have any significance in the storyline? Is it a coincidence, or does it have some symbolic meaning? Or is it just because it would sound better than, say, 801?
3) Has 777 stairs because Denmark told me that was what they wanted.

And a few that are not specifically about Power Play:

4) Is there more than one Protodax?
4) Yes

5) When the Ignika created the Protodax, did it also enhance its intelligence?
5) No

6) Would Avak be able to create a cage for the Ignika?
6) I would say most likely no, not without destroying it. Its power is life, which makes the counter to that power death.

7) Am I correct in saying Botar's job includes killing rogue OoMN members such as Brutaka?
7) No, you are not. Botar's job does not involve killing.

8) What are Botar's powers? (You may not want to answer this yet, but I thought it wouldn't hurt to ask since you gave us Kardas' power as well.)
8) Not yet

9) This isn't a question, but I just wanted to say that I am impressed by BIONICLE 2006 so far (both the sets and the storyline) and I'm really looking forward to the next books. LEGO's really doing a great job.
9) If you like 2006, wait until you see 2007 ... sets and story should make 2006 look like Little Bo-Peep.

Thanks for your time.

That's it. I'm getting more and more curious about Botar...

QUOTE
Hi Greg, hope you've recovered from comic-con. I just have a few questions,

1) I was wondering were the first ever toa toa inika? I'm asking because the red star is able to turn matoran into toa, and the only other way we've seen is when toa give their energy to matoran.
1) No
2) When a toa gives up his toa energy does his spirit star go out?
2) No, it goes out when he becomes a Turaga
3) Have tahu & co's stars been shining since they were created or only since they were active on mata nui?
3) Since they came into being
4) You said to someone that order of mata nui members may have been on the island during 2001=2003, how is that possible with makuta's barrier? Did they go up through one of the sun holes?
4) I'm not sure what barrier you are referring to. We know there were multiple ways to get from Metru Nui to Mata Nui (since the Toa Metru did not go the same way the Toa Nuva did) ... and that those ways were guarded by various Rahi, Rahkshi, etc. Do you think an OOMN member can't handle a few Rahi and Rahkshi?
5) Have you ever seen the movie or read the book i-robot? Is it possible that the bahrag will evolve beyond their programing, and say take a side in the conflict?
5) The Bahrag aren't robots, they are biomechanical beings. And no, I haven't read the book. For the sake of the universe, I hope that would not happen, because the Bahrag have an important role to play. Their job has to be done.
6) What happens if the mask of life is destroyed?
6) Well, besides the fact that Mata Nui would die, the days before his death would be messy. Imagine the power of life unleashed -- imagine everything around you coming to life, your furniture, your clothes, rays of light, everything -- imagine that all of it has wants and needs and starts making demands -- imagine every creature you see evolving constantly into new and nastier forms -- and that's just the start.
7) If a toa dies before he completes his destiny or betrays his destiny, will another toa possibly be created to carry on and complete that destiny? LIke say tahu and co were killed off for some reason would another group of toa be created to awaken mata nui?
7) No. If that were the case, then Toa dying would not matter and the story is robbed of its drama.
8) If the bohrok were once organic, and only evolved into their biomechanical state, then when did this happen? Are they older than artahka an d karzhanni?
8) No, they are not older.
TY in advance!

Just some questions and answers i got from gregf

QUOTE
1) how does hakaan mental blast affects an oppents physically?

2) Can you give me a quote in the lecacy of evil?

3) Is there possible to have a toa of psychics or vegetation?

4) What is that sheild thing that vezon is carrying on the kardas dragon box

5) Can Inrakkk speak matoran? If yes, can you give me one quote pretty please

1) Simple -- all pain is mental. Your body does not feel pain, your mind simply interprets certain stimuli through your nerves as pain. So someone who can attack your mind can make you feel enormous pain.
2) No
3) I would say no to the first, because we already have masks that do things like telepathy and telekinesis, so a Toa who did that would be redundant. And I would hesitate to do the second because it cuts really close to Swamp Thing.
4) Just a set design thing.
5) Irnakk is a creature of legend, who exists in the fears of the Piraka. So my guess is he speaks their language, not Matoran.

Hello Greg hope it was nice at the Comic Con.
Here are some new questions.

1. How many Ignika guards are they?

2. Which Legends book are you on now?

3. Will we see some new characters this year like Toa Jovan and The Great Beings?

4. In Legacy of Evil, will we see some new Islands the Piraka have been on, like Zaktan when he was a slave?

5. Will they be a new contest next year like Rahi, Dark Hunter?

6. Order of Mata Nui members do they have code names?

7. Do the Order have a base like the Brotherhood of Makuta?

8. In the Dark Hunter/BoM war, was it like Star Wars Clone Wars with many island wars. It would be cool?

9. Which chapter are you now in the Atlas?

10. Will we see some BoM members in the Atlas in the BoM base chapter?

11. Will it be many new figures who is illustrated?

12. In the Atlas will we see the Specie(s) name who live on the islands?

(Thanks for a your time, and have a good day) patriot.gif

1) It varies. In this storyline, the characters encounter Irnakk, Umbra, the Protodax, Vezon and Fenrakk, and various tricks and traps.
2) Just starting #7
3) You already have -- Toa Jovan and the Great Beings
4) Briefly
5) I don't have plans for next year made yet
6) No.
7) Yes
8) Yes, but it's not a fight for territory -- it's a fight to annihilate the other side
9) Done with it
10) No
11) No
12) Yes

It is mentioned in the DH Guide. The Shadowed One first met Zaktan when he was working as a slave in a protodermis mine.

Hey Greg, how was comic-con?

1. Can the Kardas talk?

2.Are all the 2007 sets you'v seen so far prototypes?

3. Can the Kardas fly? Or is it to heavy for its wings to carry? You know, like an penguin.

4. How old is Vezon?
4b. What about the Kardas?

5. Can the Ignika shapeshift?

6. In BL3, Matoro created a pile of snow for Axonn. How come this snow wasn't covered with electricity? Same goes for Hahli when she created a swamp to trap Thok in.

7. If a toa of fire and a toa of eath merged, would the result have total control over lava?

8. Could Gali and Lewa create a thunderstorm? (According to matoran legend, they can)

9. Can I have a quote from Irnakk?

Thanks.

1) No
2) Yes
3) No
4) Both are relatively young
5) Not that we have seen thus far
6) If you read carefully, it never says Matoro shot snow out or Hahli shot water out -- they were working with existing moisture in the air, not creating new, so the lightning did not come into play.
7) I don't really like answering hypothetical questions
8) Yes -- they did it in the comics
9) No

This sig is dedicated to the memory of Vamprah, Antroz, Krika, Gorast, Bitil, Chirox, Icarax, Mutran, Carapar, Botar, Nidhiki, Krekka, Tuyet, Matoro, Nikila, Lhikan, Jovan, Zaktan, Kojol, Tridax, Ancient, Sidorak, all the Visorak, that one Ta-matoran team that fell off of Mata-Nui's face, Spiri-uhhh....wow.

Here's some answered questions.smile.gif

QUOTE
Hi Mr. Farshtey.

I had 2 Questions about Bionicle adventures #3.

1. Did Krahka, when she trapped Whenua in web, turn into a Visorak?
2. How was Krahka able to transform into a combination aof all 6 Toa without seeing the combination before? Is she able to merge appearances she has seen before?

Thanks.

Toa Tempus

1) She turned into a spider creature, as I recall, but I did not have a Visorak in mind at the time simply because they did not exist as such when that book was written. And, of course, you have to then question when she would have seen a Visorak active, since they weren't on Metru Nui in active form until the invasion in the next story year
2) Yes, she is. She can merge the forms of anything she has turned into before. That is why the idea that what she turned into is what a Toa Nui would look like is misguided -- she has no idea what a Toa Nui would look like, if it existed, that is just how she looked when trying to use all six forms.

I asked Greg a couple of question

1.. What are the Piraka's species called?
2. How strong is Botar compared to Brutaka?
3. Will Vezon and the Kardas Dragon appear after the 2006 storyline is done?
4. Is Botar sent to go after Axxon and Brutaka?
5. Is Botar trying to get the Mask of Life for the Order of Mata-Nui so they can save Mata-Nui?
6. If the Order of Mata-Nui does all the behind the scenes work and the Toa protect the matoran and generally do good to the world, what does Mata-Nui do?
7. What do the great beings do?

1) That gets revealed in the Atlas next year
2) About equal
3) I can't discuss post-2006 story
4) No, Axonn has done nothing wrong
5) No. The Order can't save Mata Nui because they are not destined to do so.
6) Mata Nui holds the universe together. Think of it is like this -- if the Greek Senate ruled the country, and the Greek army protected it, then in their mythology, what did Zeus do?
7) They create universes
I have a couple questions that I have.

1. How strong are the Inika compared to the Toa Nuva?
2. How strong is Axxon compared to Keetongu?
3. Who is your favorite Bionicle character?
4. Does Umbra have an eye power since his eyes light up?
5. What would the Shadowed One do if he caught Vezok?

Thanks

1) Depends what you mean by strong. The Toa Nuva can share mask powers, the Inika cannot, so the Nuva are still the more powerful team.
2) Axonn could beat Keetongu
3) Kopaka
4) No
5) Probably execute him, as he would any of the Piraka

Hi Greg. I've got a few more questions.

1) I got the Rahi guide a few weeks ago, and in the Blade Burrower info, Bomonga says the tunnels they make may actually make something. Will this have any part in future storyline?

2) Will the Inika have to go through the Zone of Nightmares?

3) Will the first sets of 2007 be small sets of six like the Voyatoran and Rahaga, 6 canister villains, or 6 canister heroes?

4) Do you think, after the MoLi is gotten and Mata-Nui is saved (if this happens, of course), it will be any harder to write the story?

I hope Comic-Con was excellent, and eagerly await your response.

-Z-

1) I like to throw these sorts of things in there, as story hooks for possible future use.
2) Yes
3) The first sets of a year are always the small sets. That's how we do it.
4) No, because "saved" does not mean "awake."

6) I didn't add "unless they are in danger" -- all I said is Toa don't kill. If Spider-Man might lose a fight, does that give him permission to kill his enemy? No.
7) Dume did not know Jovan and I doubt very much Jovan was ever in Metru Nui.
8) Actually, I think Krakua is from further in the future, not pre-Piraka
9) They have no way of knowing about them, Onepu -- they are on Metru Nui, the Inika were formed on Voya Nui, so how would they know it happened?
10) Can't answer it, we haven't explored the entire known world in the story yet.
11) Can't answer it

Here are the questions I promised you!

QUOTE

Hi Greg, just a few questions I want to ask you

1) Does the Bionicle Board Game this year have any significance to the storyline?
2) Assuming you said yes, their is a card that reads 'You have a zamor sphere to stop the Kardas Dragon', does this play any importance to the story?
3) Who was Zaktan a slave for when the TSO found him?
4) Who does Reidak and Vezok face in Power Play?
5) Can you confirm that the Toa Nuva will be seen again after book 5?
6) How did the Toa Mata lose their memory inside their canisters?
7) Can you reveal anything more about the atlas?

Thankyou for your time

1) To some extent, the figures pictured all are part of the stairway sequence
2) Follow the story and find out
3) Hasn't been revealed yet
4) I am not sure what you are asking -- Power Play is already out if you want to find out what happens in it
5) Since Book 5 is the last book of the year, and I can't discuss story post-2006, no, I can't.
6) Well, they were in there for 1000 years, a lot can happen in that time.
7) Nope

Interesting huh?

Hey, Greg! How are BL 6&7 coming along? I really appreciate your time to answer my questions.

1. How come when Vezon entered the MoLi chamber, he was just allowed past Umbra and everything, but the Toa Inika (whose destiny is to have it, no less!) have to go through all of that?

2. How did Umbra know to back off and let Vezon through? Did the mask telepathiclly tell him or something?

3. What was Umbra's thoughts when he saw a crazy Piraka with a cape being able to just run pass him to the mask?

Thanks again!

-TOoMN-

1) The mask knew the Piraka were coming and so it felt the need for a new guardian right then. It also knew Vezon could not use it and that the curse would not allow him to take it out of the chamber, so it was safe to let him approach. The Toa, like anyone else who seeks to remove it from the chamber, have to earn the right.

2) There are ways to reach the mask chamber that don't involve going past Umbra -- the Piraka don't encounter Umbra either.

3) See answer to #2

QUOTE
Oh...do you mean like going right in that tunnel both the teams encounter? Because I have a personal theory that the Kanohi Ignika chooses which path the person goes, according to what their destiny is and who they should face.

Thanks!

-TOoMN-

No, the reason for the two different pathways is that the Toa don't walk in on the Piraka's nightmare, but rather get their own.

There's my batch...

Phew, this is the longest set of questions I'ver ever asked!

QUOTE
QUOTE
rotflz.gif Please excuse the title.

We shall start with the compliments!

Thanks for sticking with us from the start and advancing from then. You were introduced to us by the comics and a few years later you became the writer of the bionicle books. Probably, at that time, you looked down a bionicle and were amazed at how fast it has grown and how fast you've grown with it.

And here we are, chatting. If you hadnt joined BZP i can garuntee you that at least a few people would have lost intrest. If you hadnt wrote the books, our bionicle story line wouldnt have sounded half as good. If you arent sitting here reading this, you will never get to answer the question I have!

Thank you Gregf, thank you!

Moving on to the questions!.....(20 minutes later) I said, MOVING ON to the questions! uhuh.gif

1. How big would the Kardas dragon be compared to Tahu nuva?

2. Seeing that Makuta's element is shadow, can we assume that Mata-nui's is light?

3. When the toa turned into kaita, did their consience/spirit/mind reside the the kaita? What i mean is that if lewa, gali, and kopaka turned into whiruha their mind is still there and seeing every thing thats going on.

4. Do Nuparu's claws illustrate the coming of a story detail or is it just a minor set thing?

5. How much better than the Inika are the 2007 sets?

6. How many more prototypes do you think will be used before the offical 2007 sets are made?

7. This is more of a suggestion than a question: If we have the ussual six elements in the canister sets of 2007, I think that it would be wise if the fire element wasnt the leader.

8. Are there any more "piraka"?

9. What element would Vezon be?

10. Did the Ignika ever belong to a toa?

11. Though the toa inika's mask are organic can they be removed?

12. I am esspically fond of the Nuva, will they be the main stars next year?

13. What did you like/hate the most about 2001?

14. What did you like/hate the most about 2002?

15. What did you like/hate the most about 2003?

16. What did you like/hate the most about 2004?

17. What did you like/hate the most about 2005 ( I can guess smile.gif ) ?

18. What do you like/hate SO FAR of 2006?

19. What is your favorite toa team? Why?

20. Once, I asked if there was ever a toa of time. (I think you remember that) Why did you despise the idea? tongue.gif

21. Who are the known member of the order of makuta?

22. Are there gonna be any new Exo-force sets next year?

23. I read the exo-force online comics just today for the first time. wakeup2.gif Do you prefer writing on a older level than Exo-force?

24. Do you think exo-force would be more interesting if was ment for 12-14 year olds?

25. Being a person thats HUGEly involved with bionicle, do you have all the sets from 2001-2006?

-------

OMG! Did I really ask you 25 questions?!?! Thats it greg, no more questions from me until 2007! And enjoy your banana cream pie! _icon_joy_.gif

1) Significantly bigger
2) No, you can't assume that
3) Yes
4) Just a set thing, like Onua's claws were
5) I can't discuss anything about 2007
6) No idea, I don't have any involvement with set design.
7) Okay, but then how do you address the fact that red sets always sell the best? Does it make sense to not have your best seller front and center in the story?
8) There are more of that species. "Piraka" is a job title, not a species name.
9) He doesn't have one
10) Belong to? No, the Ignika has always been where it is now.
11) Yes, they remove them in BL #3 and in comic #3
12) No. They can't be main focus unless the sets get re-released, and there are no plans to re-release them at this time. They haven't been out of stores long enough to bring them back.
13-18) I don't really have time to go into this, and it would be silly of me to talk about things I dislike in a line produced by the company I work for.
19) Probably the Toa Metru
20) Simple. The easiest way to mess up a continuing storyline is to introduce time travel into it (and a Toa of Time who couldn't time travel would be dull). If you can go back in time and change things, or go forward and see the consequences of your actions, then you have unbalanced the story. A Toa of Time would simply put be too powerful compared to all other Toa, and would destroy the storyline.
21) Makuta. That's it, as far as members you have actually met.
22) Yes
23) I have written for everything from Highlights for Children to college age and older. The age of my target audience doesn't matter to me -- writing is writing.
24) Actually, no. Based on our latest survey in the magazine, EXO-FORCE is popular across the board, with kids aged 6 to 14+, so we are obviously doing something right. We already have an action figure line aimed at older kids -- BIONICLE -- we don't need another one. A second one would just be competing directly with BIONICLE for audience.
25) No, I don't have that kind of room in my house or my office. And, as most BZPers know, I don't get sets for free -- I get a discount, but I still have to buy them if I want them.

Hello again Greg. I have more questions:

1. In the Atlas, will we find out a few things about the Toa Olda's past as well? Or just where they came from? (I'd like to know who trained them).

2. Were their canisters on the same island of their origin?

3. Is there an official name to the Toa of Mata Nui team?

4. If we find out Tahu and co's island name, would we call them by the island first part (i.ie. Metru, Mata etc.)?
4b. Would that be the official name if we don't already have one?

5. Is there a name for the combo of the Avohkii and Kraakhan?

6. Are there any other secret tidbits you'd like to share from the Atlas? Maybe about the Crystal Serpents?

7. Do the Crystal Serpents play a role in the storyline?

8. If the Inika conquer Vezon, how do the get the Ignika? Does it just hop off into Matoro's arms?

9. Does Matoro find out he carries the MoLi this year?

10. Do the Nuva escape this year?

11. What will become of the Inika's Zamor launchers once the all the Matoran are cured?

12. Is Botar coming to Voya Nui because of Brutaka?
12b. Is Botar going ot punish him?

13. I heard that the Piraka who become fused become unfused afterwards. Is that true?
13b. If so, is it because of Vezon's staff?

14. A while ago, I asked you what good would the Elda be to Hahli once the Ignika was found, and you said that I was assuming that she would still have that mask at that time. Did you imply that she or all her team would recieve new masks sometime in the 3 year arc?

15. You said that the Piraka may retuen next year. Could this be a result of the Staff of Fusion?
15b. Could the Inika have somehow shot Energized Zamors at them, causing them to transform (they could be destined)?

16. About how much of Makuta's plan did Takanuva see?
16b. Was he shocked/surprised?
16c. Has he told anyone about the plans?

17. What is the returning hero exactly?

18. Are there any quotes you'd like to share from Bl4 or 5?

19. What was the purpose of putting Jalle, Takanuva, and Hahli in the virtue "spots"? Was it just to revive Takanuva, open a gateway of some sort?
19b. How was Takanuva revived exactly? Was there something in the virtue "spots"?

20. Could the Rahaga get turned back into Toa, or are they Rahaga forever?

21. What good would the Bohrok be to clean a barren island (Mata Nui)?
21b. What exactly does "cleanse the island" mean?

That's all for now. Thank you.

1) No, just their origin point
2) Yes
3) I decided to go with one of the fan names, Toa Mata
4) See answer to #3
5) No
6) Not at this time
7) Not as yet
8) Follow the story and find out
9) Can't discuss future storyline
10) See answer to #9
11) They won't need them, most likely
12) See answer to #9
13) Yes and yes
14) Yes
15) No, if the Toa shot EP zamors at them, they would be killed.
16) Takanuva? Takanuva knows next to nothing about Makuta's plans.
17) See answer to #9
18) Nope
19) I did not write the movie or the novelization of it, so I really can't answer this
20) They could get turned back by Roodaka's mutation spinner
21) You don't clean a barren island. You clean an island that has trees, mountains, lakes, rivers, etc. on it, which Mata Nui does, to make it barren. And "cleanse the island" means scrape all that stuff off.

QUOTE
QUOTE
For number 14, did you mean that they recieve new masks after the find the Ignika, or when Karzanhi gave the Matoran they twisted masks?

They already received the masks from Karzahni before they came to Voya Nui, so those are not the new masks I was referring to.

I cannot say, it is FAR too early to post.

Plus, if Greg doesn't get his way, it won't happen. Let's hope he gets his way -Swert

Please i will not tell anyobdy by too early means like in 03 he siad Vakama betrays the hordika that early.

Fine.

It involves Jaller's Mask.

And I don't mean the Calix. -Swert

Hey Everyone,
No Q&As, well actually, I have a question. What do you mean Vader, I just don't understand it. I don't mean to be rude at all. (I'm really tired). If I understood you correctly you mean that you have a hint to another mask that Jaller will recieve. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Hey, Greg! I've got some questions about Vezon & Fenrakk:

1) Is Vezon's cape flame proof? The reason I ask is because he and Fenrakk come up from under the Lava in BL3 and it dawned on me that his cape would melt.
1) No, the cape is protected the same way the rest of him is by the curse.

2) Where exactly did Vezon get the chain to put around Fenrakk's neck? Did the Mask of Life give it to Fenrakk when it enlarged him?
2) It could easily have been something Vezon picked up on the way to Voya Nui to use as an extra weapon

3) Does Zaktan know that Vezon is alive?
3) He assumes it.

4) If so, does he believe that he can order Vezon to hand over the MoLi?
4) No

5) I thought there was no hair in Bionicle? Proof:
QUOTE

There was no answer, just the sound of the lava dripping off the hair on the creature's legs

5) I don't recall ever saying there was no hair. Just because you haven't seen it on characters up to now ... we have only seen a small corner of the universe. If Fenrakk's legs have an organic sheath, they could very easily have tiny hairs on them.

6) What does Vezon think about the other Piraka?
6) He has no use for them.

7) Does Vezon know about his connection to Vezok? (I know Vezok does)
7) Yes

8) If so, how does Vezon feel about this connection? We know Vezok isn't too fond of it biggrin.gif
8) He hates Vezok as much as Vezok hates him

-------------------------------------------------------------

So, there you go, just some questions I've been wondering about.

Just some interesting questions I was wondering, most of them most people know.

QUOTE
Hey Greg, got some qs.

1. Where does Vakama keep his disks as a Toa? Do they just enlarge from a pouch?

2. When will we find out more of the Kratana from Maze of Shadows?

3. In Maze of Shadows, on page 50, Nokama discovers a carving of the Bahrag dipping something into what I'm guessing is EP, and pulling out krana. What are they dipping, and does it have any importance?

4. I believe in Dark Destinies we discovered that the Manas come from Karzahni, and that Makuta's are just strays, correct? You also said that the secret or the importance of the Mana-Ko will be revealed in the atlas. What do you mean by that?

5. I forgot if this has been answered, but are Bohrok Kal just elite Bohrok, or are they created through EP or another substance?

6. In what form will BL4 be in? By this I mean, will be a flashback of the Piraka, carvings on a wall, or just stories of their history, without any lead-ins?

7. Do Matoran sleep? I was just wondering since reading the S&T entries.

8. I have a theory on the creation of Matoran, and I wanted to se if it is legitamate in any way. Seeing as Matoran have such long lifespans, and most islands live in peace, I believe that casualties of Matoran were rare, and therefore reproduction of Matoran was not needed. But, if a certain area of Matoran was low on figures, Mata Nui or the Great Beings would send more down, filling in the gaps. We haven't seen this happen because of the rarity of such an action, seeing as there huge lifesoans, and we haven't seen many Matoran die. Is this possibly correct in any way?

Thank you for answering!

1) They don't need to enlarge, the pouch is the right size for them.
2) No idea at this time
3) Hasn't been revealed yet
4) You will find out when you read the Atlas
5) Bohrok-Kal are mutated Bohrok, but there is no proof that EP had anything to do with their mutation
6) It's Zaktan remembering both things he has experienced and things he has heard about from the other Piraka
7) Yes, anything that has organic parts requires some form of rest
8) I cannot discuss in any way, shape or form how Matoran come into being, by decision of the story team.

EDIT- Vader Hater means that once when Swert posted, he left out number 1, and Vader wanted to know why. Swert said it was too early, but now we know it has to do with either Jaller's future mask, Lhikan's Hau, or Jaller's mask before the Hau. At least, that's what I think.

You answered that for someone else, but when I asked you this back in '03 when the Kal came out, you said that they were created by a mixture of the Bahrag's energies and Energized Protodermis. So, what is the story reason behind this?

-TOoMN-

How about the fact that you asked me three years ago, and can't reasonably expect me to remember what I answered three years ago?

The Encyclopedia states that how they were mutated is a mystery, but that it is rumored the Bahrag distilled energy from a mutagenic substance, possibly Visorak venom or some variation of that.

Well, I wasn't expecting him to remember...I was just wondering. He seemed a little tense to me... unsure.gif

Alright, I'll briefly explain what Vader is trying to say.

The question I left out had an answer that was set for 2009, if Greg could work it in. It involved Jaller's Hau, the rest could be interpreted from there any way you would like to. I think I've pretty much explained all that I needed to. -Swert

Here's a new batch. Some of it may be old info, but I didn't know it. Answers are in bold.

1. When Hakann and Thok absorbed Brutaka's energies, did they get his powers? Or did it simply add to their natural energy and strength?
A. Yes, they did get his powers.

2. You stated that Brutaka's sword didn't have an electric cutter. Does it have some form of cutting tool that allows it to cut through things (like Jaller's sword)?
It does give off energy, it's just not electricity.

3. In Power Play, Axonn is curiously inspecting the already made Zamor spheres. Does this have anything to do with how Brutaka gained strength from them?
No

4. If Axonn and Brutaka are part of species (plural), is their immense power natural, or was it bestowed upon them from the OoMN.
It's natural

5. Does Fenrakh have any powers besides being able to survive in lava?
Yes, he shares Vezon's ability to absorb kinetic energy

6. Did Vezon have the spear before he came to Voya Nui?
Yes

7. Will we ever learn Umbra's spinner power?
Probably not

8. It was stated that the Brotherhood knew what the Bohrok were for, when the Matoran did not. Was this because they had operatives and scouts on Metru Nui at the time when they discovered this, or were there Bohrok on another island?
It was because the Brotherhood knows most things about how this universe works. Don't forget, they were working as servants of Mata Nui for many thousands of years, so of course they know about the Bohrok.

9. During the 1000 years between MoL and LoMN, did Makuta command attacks or defenses against the Dark Hunters?
I am sure he has had involvement in the course of the war, yes

I find 4 very interesting...

Here's some information on Bohrok you might find interesting:

1) Where did they get their individual names? I know the word "Bohrok" was found near one of their nests, but where did the names for each type of Bohrok (Tahnok, Gahlok, etc.) come from?

2) Similar to question 1, where did the word "krana" as well as all of its different names (Xa, Vu, etc.) come from?

3) How did the Bohrok without krana obey commands from the Matoran? Was it just verbally?

4) Can Bohrok without krana use their elemental powers?

5) Are krana capable of moving by themselves (i.e. without being held by Bohrok)?

6) Can krana use their powers (flight, telepathy, etc.) without being inside Bohrok or when attached to the face of a Matoran/Toa/Turaga?

7) Does Lewa still retain his ability to intercept Bohrok comunications?

1-2) I would assume from whoever first brought them into being.
3) Yes
4) Yes. Krana provide additional power and direction, they do not provide the elemental power
5) Yes, but they move like slugs, very slowly
6) No.
7) Yes, but they are all asleep, so the point is moot

1-2) I guess I didn't word this correctly. What I meant was how do the Turaga know all these names?

Same way they know most things, legends.

And like many of the "legends" the Turaga know, it's most likely they learned it on Metru Nui. Remember that Bohrok and krana were on display in the Archives, so if any of the Turaga had ever been there and remembered then they'd know all the names. Nothing particularly mystical.

Here's some questions, I bet you can't guess who answered them...

I have a few questions, if that's okay:

1) What does Umbra's Rhotuka do?
2) What will the Toa Nuva do now that the Inika have come to Voya Nui?
3) Will we ever see any Toa that aren't of the main 6 elements in sets? After all, the only times we've ever heard of Toa like that were in books and stuff, never actual sets.
4) Will the 2007 island really be called Akua Nui, because that just sounds like aqua.
5) Will there ever be sets for the rest of the Hagah, or the rest of Lhikan's team?
6) Will there be more new masks next year?
7) What is your favorite mask power, and why?
8) If the MoL already existed before the 1st movie, was there a Toa of Light before Takanuva who used that mask and then died?
9) What is your least favorite set?
10) What will happen to Voya Nui and its inhabitants after the Mask of Life is found?

Thanks, I'll stop ranting now.

1) I didn't come up with a power for it, because the model did not have it when I wrote him into the story.
2) The Toa Nuva are kind of busy being imprisoned, so they can't really "do" anything.
3) Asking the wrong person -- that depends on the set designers and what they choose to do in terms of model colors, etc.
4) No, it won't. There is no Akua Nui in BIONICLE, nor will there be.
5) Right now, we aren't planning any more year-long flashback stories, so odds are we won't be doing sets of those characters anytime soon.
6) Yes
7) Probably Concealment
8) No
9) I don't have a least favorite
10) I guess we will find out after the Mask of Life is found

Hello Mr F. and I also had some thing else to ask.

1. In Web of Shadows, where in the end tells the origin about the Rahaga, well why does it say "The chroniclers from Takua" and in the end of that, Vakama says that, "Whether they wait for us or not Takua, they deserve to be remembered as the greatest Toa" Why does it say "Takua"?

2. Can a Toa of Fire just let their fire burn in water by using the O2 on the water?

3. In the movie, the Toa have compartments in their back like a bag. Can you explain this? You see, I know in the books write it as "bag" but it seems like that Toa wouldn't carry a little bag or a purse. And how do the Toa carry their tools? Do they just attach themselves on the back, because in the movie, the Toa just it in the compartment. I just don't see it.

1) Are you talking about the book or the movie?
2) No. Normal fire cannot burn in water.
3) I'm sorry you don't see it, but outside of a bag, where do you suggest they carry things? (A bag is not a purse or a pocketbook -- it's usually a canvas sack.) They carried bags for their supplies in Lord of the Rings, so why not in BIONICLE? As for the tools situation, the moviemakers took license with that because otherwise they have to show the tools on the characters' backs all the time, which makes shots from behind hard to do. So they had the tools pretty much disappear when not in use.

Thank you but, the book is what I was talking about. Page 132-137 to be exact.

Simple. Takanuva wrote this chronicle, but since his chronicles were all under his old name, they remain as the Chronicles of Takua. And Vakama's comment at the end was simply a slip of the tongue, since he knew Takanuva as Takua for so many millennia.

That also brought me one thing. It seems to me that Hahli wrote the chronicles of Metru Nui except for Time Trap. Why did Takanuva write the Web of Shadows chronicle when Hahli wrote the rest?

Takanuva only wrote the origin of the Rahaga portion, the rest was written by Hahli. My guess would be that Hahli simply was not present when Vakama decided to share that, and Takanuva offered to record it.

Oh, boy.
