This topic is BZP's OFFICIAL Topic for discussion regarding Cyan Worlds' MYST Universe, including the games Myst, Riven, Myst III: Exile, Myst IV: Revelation, Myst V: End of Ages, Myst Online: Uru Live (Or its offline Counterpart, Myst: Uru: Complete Chronicles), the novels, or really any aspect of the Myst universe and lore.

I'll get the ball rolling with some thoughts of my own:

I loved Myst. it came free with my old computer, and just out of curiosity, i played it. I loved it! It took me a while to beat it, And longer to beat riven. Many years later I was shocked to find that there was a Myst 3!
Some more years later there was URU, which was deep and you get to go to D'ni and it was third person which was kida different and cool for a myst game. There was a lotta stuff that could have been improved on, though.

And then there was Myst 4!! HOO, BOY! Quite possibly the best Myst game EVER.

Myst 5 was pretty impressive, but just too short. A nice conclusion to the series, though.

Then they began working on Myst Online: Uru Live. Currently they're in a final Beta Stage which is availible to anyone who joins the Gametap service. I'm ecstatic: I remember playing Uru three years ago and thinking how much cooler it would be were it Live. Now it's going to be, and with new content over periods of time, too! How cool!

...or at least, it was going to be. Cyan and Gametap recently announced that Uru Live is going to be canceled. Again. Hmph. Well, that was short lived.

-UPDATE: As of Febrary 2010, Uru Live has been independently re-launched by Cyan Worlds *For Free,* and is now known as Myst Online: Uru Live Again. Hope to see you all in cavern!

I LOVE EXILE! Exile RULES! I trapped Saavedro on the first try, too. My dad, however, got hammered at least 5 times.

SQUEES RULE! So do bungee vines and the hovering island in Voltaic.

I just got exile for the xbox, and ive had rivin for a long time now, they are both realy fun, but they arent very hard like i thought they would be.

also i would like to point out this is not official, for a topic to be official a Mod must approve it as one.

Yep.
You brilliantly realize, after you get releeshan, that if you change the power to the outside sheild before turning on the power, he'll stop sucking his thumb, look around, politely wave good-bye, and off he goes to his family!
*sniff It's...(cries) so nice...

Jus joking. No, I mean the crying thing. The Saavedro thing is real. I've done it. It plays a happier ending before showing credits, and a cool flythrough of Narayan!

Let's not forget the upcomming MYST IV, I have the rare realmyst game whitch was much better than myst because it shows the lost age, rime. the true ending to myst.

...Although I didn't USE the help book, no, I did Exile all on my own, but I was in a bookstore after I beat the game and decided to flip through the guide.

The rime age is a specail age that you can only see in realmyst the redone version of myst, here is the site for real myst go to www.realmyst.com, There is no site for Myst 4 yet.

That's what I meant. I didn't like to see him crying there, so I switched the force fields and turned on the power. Then he waved and went happily back to his family on the big organic......mechanical....whatever it is. Narayan is freaky!

my comp was weird and the book that linked to Gehn's age was blank and didnt work.

also: i found a way to beat myst in 2 min. its pretty cool

Finally someone made this topic! here is a really cool fictional journal of someone that linked to myst, clicky. I didnt write it but I thought that it was very interesting. I have beat all of them, Myst masterpiece, Riven, Myst3 Exile. They were fun and the best part was the ball ride in Exile, the mag-lev in riven,and the reward in Myst.

Myst, Riven, Exile are such fun games. It is strange in Riven though, because I thought that Ghen was going to jab me with his spear, but a poisen dart came out of it rather. Hey, that reminds me, has anyone heard about the new Myst game coming out called, Ura ages beyond myst?

You mean Uru? There are two sections to it, one part is online so you can play with anyone in the world. The other is a normal myst-like game,I dont think that it is related to any of the other games like. Its probably more like a game of its own, other than the storyline. You can find out more at www.ubi.com But Uru is not myst IV hardly anything is known about that, besides that it exists...

Well, Uru is related in a way. You get to explore where Atrus grew up and explore Dni. Myst IV is still in production, they just don't want to make it this year because then Uru and Myst IV would be under competition (did I spell competition right? ).

Well, previously, we had beaten Myst, and we really wanted to get Riven. And Exile. We had seen the trailers, and were convinced that they were the best games ever. So we told Dad to get them next time he went to best buy. He went shopping for groceries. While he was gone, we did a Myst game with our Bionicles. When he returned, we were talking about Riven and when we looked in the back in the bags there was...A THREE PACK OF MYST MASTER PIECE, RIVEN AND EXILE!!!! my dad is so cool.

anyway I recently received realMYST and its not really as good as I expected it to be. I miss the old hand and the clicky-thingy...I thought it would be more like exile.
