I fixed the problem above. Now I have a new one. When I make the Gamedisk (No Compression), it works fine except that there music doesn't work. There is no sound whatsoever. I really hope you can fix this! -------------------- |

Working on what you mean is that you want to edit the tiles/events inside the hut, then you just have to look up the hut map. On the left of the main screen, there is an area which lists all of your maps vertically. It compresses maps together under one heading, so you have to click the icon to the left of the name to see what is inside the map's directory, if you follow me. Use this function to gather related maps together so they are easy to navigate (i.e. have Ga-Koro (Ga-Koro town maps), GA-Wahi (Ga-Wahi maps), Ko-Koro, (Ko-Koro town maps), etc...). As for what works on Windows, RPGMaker 95 works on Windows 95, 98, and I think Me. RPG2k works on 95, 98, Me, and 2000. I don't know about XP for 2k, but I know that RPG95 won't work on it- you just get an 'ObjectWindows' error. Start positions can be changed by use of a button above where the map is shown on the main screen. Gamedisks are annoying. There is a cretain way to make them, which is told in the help file included with RPG95. Look it up, it's a big help. I hope that helps some of you! -------------------- |

I really don't know about this one, M12. Uhhh, you might want to try actually sticking the music files inside the Gamedisk folder with the actual game. Other than that, I don't know what you can do!

Okay M12, try this out- it looks like Lewaswingin has figued out the problem. It appears that once you have your gamedisk done, you have to run your RPG by using 'game.exe' in the gamedisk folder rather than 'setup.exe'. You won't have it installed, but it should work with all the sound. At least, that's what he put in the Flow of the River manual, so give it a go and give him credit where it's due.

OK, exotoa400, I think I know exactly what to do for this one! First, open your Quicktime Player. Along the top bar, click on "Edit" and go down to "Preferences" and click on "Quicktime Preferences". In those 3 boxes under "Select Viewer Associations", uncheck all the boxes that you can. Now try RPG Maker 95 again and it should work!

Hey When I use RM95+ I can't use the movie feature because it has the wrong property window. The Help says to rename the file but you CAN'T just rename an AVI file to a BMP file. Please help!

I've been having the exact same problem, -MZ-! I think it's a mistake made by Don Miguel because I've tried everything, but you just can't change an Avi file into a BMP file! I guess I'll just have to do without the movies......

Well, there are plenty of things you can do, kalking! The game making is basically controlled by the buttons along the top. With the character editor, you can edit your characters, change whether they're in your starting party or not, and change what equipment that they have/can have. There is also a monster editor and an item editor which are basically self-explanaory. The most important one, though, is the event editor. You can't have a game without events! This allows you to control what happens when you step on a certain spot or when something else happens.
-That's basically all you need to know! After you get acquainted with the system, it'll be a piece of cake! Just post here again if you need any more help! This post has been edited by XK Nuva: Apr 3 2003, 08:18 PM -------------------- |

What i mean is that after i put in the name, a little window comes up made of a mix of letters and numbers. At the bottom are the buttons that say yes and no. If i click yes, then RPG maker closes down. What do i do?

Uhh, I really don't know what you're talking about..... Try re-downloading it! That sometimes works! I don't know what you mean by a "mix of letters and numbers", though....
Edit: Instead of using that old RPG Maker 95, I suggest you use RPG Maker 2003! It's much better! You can download the file here! It comes with RTP and everything! This post has been edited by XK Nuva: Apr 3 2003, 09:47 PM -------------------- |

Ok. I have a new name for my game. When I hit ok on the Name of Game screen, a small window comes up. It says :403.......... And has an Ok button at the bottom. When i click the ok button, the RPG Maker 95 stays open, but nothing happens except that the window that says :403......... dissapears. Now the Rpg Maker is all set for me to begin, but all of the buttons and menus at the top have that gray color and when I click the buttons, nothing happens. All i can do is change pallette, start a new game, and open a game. Whats going on?

Try reinstalling/redownloading it. Well, here's a real bone-headed question. Guess what I forgot how to do? Thats's right, The Toa of Wisdom (AKA me for all you who don't know me) forgets how to change the charset. I have the new one, i just forget how to put it in. EDIT: Never mind. I just found out. For those of you who don't know, go to wherever you have it installed, (C:/Program Files/Ascii/RPG Maker 95+/GameName) and copy the new charset file there. The text, first you can look in the readme and it may be more halp than me, but you must either install the font to your foont directory. Example: the font from D:\downloads\rpgmaker2003\fonts\ and copy it to C:\Windows\fonts and if that does not work, then install the RPG Maker 2000 fonts(not needed if you have rpg m2k) and move the icon titled RPG 2003. something from the fonts directory (game not windows) and move it out of that sub folder to the folder above it. Make sure to check the read-me. For the charecter vehicle: if you go to the database and to system, you can see the vehicle graphics and settings. I'm not sure if the vehicle settings are in the system, but they are in the database. then in event mode, right click and add start vehicle position. -------------------- |

If that doesn't work then create an event that has a question, like do you wish to ride yes/no. and if he choses change walk graphic to the vehicle and adjust walk speed. then make an event that will change the character back to his nomal walk graphic. -------------------- |

Well, when you first create a new project, you have to actually create a map, which will be all water by default. To do that, just right-click on the area in the lower-left corner with the title of your game and click on "New Map". -------------------- |

Okay, I've talked about this in multiple topics, and PMed a few members, but so far I'm still stuck about this one important question. When I create a Map with a hero starting position and a few events (People, Animals etc) and scenery, I click to the "Test Game" button, but it's just appears balck. The title screen dosen't even come up. So...
considering I've gotten to so many replys but nothing works, is it possible for someone to send me a project that has a map that succesfully lets you test play it? -------------------- |

I really don't know what to tell you.... Try re-downloading RM2K3. When I press Test Game, the screen goes black for a little while to load, and then the game comes up. Unless you have a really slow computer, then there might be something wrong with your RM2K3 file! Just re-download it and try again. -------------------- |

When you loaded it, it should have asked you to find a file to store it in. Find that file in explore and open it. Make sure that you unzip it with Winzip. EDIT: It is winrar, sorry. You can get some battle sprites here or you can search for some more in this topic. About the battle sprites though, I haven't gotten around to learning about working with the 2003 battle sprite system. Sorry, but I can't help you on this one!

I think it means the file size and that you can just paste the file to the section where it keeps the game stuff. Example: C:/downloads/rpgmaker2003/charset Then it should find it in the resource manager automatically. -------------------- |
