Short Stories Rules and Guidelines

Please read before posting in this forum!

Welcome to the topic that may save your neck. Or at least your proto. Before you dive into the Wonderful World of Fanfics©, make sure you go over our guidelines for this forum. As always, the Short Story forum is constantly abused as members use it as a haven to get more exposure for their epics, and as a place to plop their tournaments and less-than-300 word comedies. This will stop now.


Please note: there is NO REVIVAL RULE in this forum. Stop reporting revivals!


1) Stories that take more than one post belong in Epics. This is a forum for one-post stories ONLY.

2) If a one-post short story is going to have a sequel, then the sequel must be in another topic. Don't post multiple chapters as seperate topics. Those belong in Epics.

3) There are absolutely NO reply topics. Like in Comedies, Short Stories have to be replied and commented within the story thread itself.

4) Round Robin and other types of add-on stories are not allowed. This is due to the fact that they all eventually meet the same fate, confusing and full of spam.

5) If you wish to use your posted SS as the first chapter for an Epic, PM the Short Stories Leader (listed below) asking them to move it to Epics. Do NOT repost the SS in Epics. That is creating a dupe topic.

6) Criticism in reviews must be constructive, and such reviews must also contain positive points. Writers have emotions too, and not all of them can deal with harsh posts. Remember, this is a forum meant for all ages, and the youngest among us are also the most easily hurt. Please, take that into account.
Also, do not post generic replies like 'do more' or 'keep up the good work'. They are considered to be void of any meaning.

7) You are allowed to have only ONE topic that is a collection of your fanfics, in the whole Library division. If you have a lot of Comedies, post your story topic in Comedies. If you have a lot of Epics, post the story topic in Epics. If you have a majority of Short Stories or you have a fair mix of all three, please post your story topic here in Short Stories.

8) Do not post saying: Please post here! This cannot be stressed enough! We are sorry if your SS does not get enough attention, but please don't spam in your topic whining and crying that nobody posts.

9) Stories with real BZP members expressing "love" for other members is inappropriate. It's fine when you are writing a love story about Toa or Turaga, but it is entirely a different issue when you are writing a love story about two members which are manifestations of real people. Don't change the names to try and disguise it, either. We can usually tell by your glaring love-sickness what exactly is going on.

10) Plagarism is not tolerated in the BZPower Library. It's obvious that you shouldn't copy another member's story and paste it into your own topic. However, taking a member's story and changing the character's names, rearranging the sentences, and/or replacing words the member used is not allowed, either.
- Please note that each complaint of plagarism will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Sometimes a member is ripping off of your plot ideas and sentence structures, and other times you two may have just conceived similar ideas. Let the forum leaders decide.
