Formula One Racing: I don't think there's anything I enjoy more on a weekend than getting the chance to watch a Formula One Grand Prix. I've been to see two races live before, and neither of them are experiences I'll soon forget. My favorite team is Ferrari, and my favorite driver is Michael Schumacher. My display name, "Tifosi" (Tih-foe-see), comes from an Italian Formula One term meaning "loyal Ferrari supporter". Can't wait for the season to restart in March!

Ferrari: By far, I think they are the most legendary car manufacturers in the entire world. They consider car making to be an art rather than an industry, and they fill each individual car they build with soul through an unrivaled dedication to quality and performance. They're also the builders of what I would choose as my favorite car, the 599 GTB Fiorano. There are few cars in the world like an Italian sportscar, but there is nothing else like a Ferrari.

Bionicle: I was abducted into Bionicle fandom in '06, after deciding to read the first Ignition comic because I was bored. I liked the concept that the Matoran resistance team was alone on the island, trying to survive against the much more powerful Piraka. I think the main reason I didn't like the story before '06 was that it was a little too complex for me to grasp completely. I've been a fan ever since that first comic.

Gaming: I've been playing video games since when the SNES was the newest console. I've played the N64, Gamecube, Wii, Xbox 360, and DS and GBA. Currently, I'm playing Mario Kart Wii, Super Mario Galaxy, and occasionally CoD4 and CoD: WaW. Mario has been and always will be my favorite gaming icon, because he's been with me in gaming since the very beginning, in a manner of speaking. =P If you want to play with me on Xbox Live, PM me and let me know. My gamertag is identical to my display name.

Reading: It's not often I'll read new books unless a friend recommends them to me. However, if I find something I'm interested in, I'll take the time to finish it. My favorite book series is "Ranger's Apprentice". It isn't advertised much at all, and very few people seem to have heard of it, but it is probably the best book series I've ever read. BZP also contains one of my favorite stories, "Glitch in the System". In my opinion, it's the best epic on the entire site.

Writing: Every once in a while, I'll get inspired from something totally random, and decide to write. Right now, I've got quite a few pieces of Bionicle fan-fiction on BZP. Most of the links are in my sig, and reviews on any of my work would be very much appreciated. I'd recommend either "Burning Bridges" or "The Sniper" if you were to read only one of them. Most of my friends on BZP are writers, ironically enough. =P

Thanks to anyone who's taken the time to read this. It took me a while to write!

  1. I hate to say it, but this is it. This isn't going to be like before where I've said that I'll be gone for a while and then come back before the week is out, this time I really mean it and I don't have a choice. Life issues have reached a critical point, and if I want to have any meaningful future, it's very likely I'll have to cut BZP out of it. I will not be able to get on BZP again for a very long time. Not a week, not a month, maybe not even in the summer. I've enjoyed my time here, and I'm thankful for the opportunity I've had to spend time with everyone on here. I just wish that in the end, I could've done more to make sure my stay was longer, and that things didn't have to end the way they are. To anyone I've made obligations to--I'm sorry I won't be able to fulfill them. To anyone who I've forged friendships with--it's been great, and I hope if I ever get back on here, you'll all still be around. To anyone who reads this, I'll miss my time here. Farewell, everyone.

    Kyle Katarn

Kyle Katarn was an awesome character. Though, it's too bad that the most vivid memory that comes to mind when hearing his name is hearing him go "BLUUUURRRRRAAAARAAAAAARRRRGH" everytime I got killed in Jedi Outcast.
  3. Valentine's Day Story Club Valentine's Day is fast approaching, and love is in the air... for some. For others, it's a perfect time to write a love story. I have a feeling I'm not the only one writing a Valentine's Day story, and as such, this idea crossed my mind: a Valentine's Day Story Club. Q: What is the club about? A: Basically, the idea is to form a list of V-Day stories in this entry with the goal of earning reviews from fellow V-Day story writers. If you've written or are still planning to write a Valentine's Day story and want reviews for it, you can get them by posting a link to your story here. The reviews won't necessarily come for free, of course--if youre in the club, you're expected to leave a review on at least two stories from other club members out of kindness. Q: How would I go about getting into the club? A: If you've written a V-Day-themed story, something similar, or are planning to write one, post a link to your story in a comment on this entry, and I'll add it to a list of stories at the bottom of this entry. That's all there is to it! Q: Does the story have to be specifically written for Valentine's Day? A: Technically, no. If you've written a story that fits into the love-story genre recently (within the last two or three weeks), I don't see a problem with submitting it to the list. Q: What incentive is there to give reviews? A: I don't really want to turn this into a contest (mainly because there aren't any prizes I could realistically give ) but I think there should be something given to the author in the club with the greatest combined total of given and received reviews. This might not be more than bragging rights that you were the most helpful member or wrote the most reviewed story, or maybe both. Time will tell, depending on how many writers join. Q: How long will the club be active? A: After some consideration, I'm thinking of keeping it open until the end of February, in the interest of giving everyone time to review stories. After that, there really isn't much point in keeping it open. I have absolutely no idea how this will work out, or even if anyone will join. If there aren't many participants, I'll probably end up just deleting the entry. Hopefully, that won't have to happen. *lol* If you have any questions, feel free to post a comment asking them. 4. And I've finally gotten my story posted. It's the longest one I've ever written--hopefully that won't make people steer clear of it. I Go to Extremes

    Question

How long did you buy premiership for? Go here if you need to see when you bought premier membership (find your name on the list). Calculate how long you bought it for from that date, and then you'll have the date it runs out. (e.g. purchase of 1 year from Sep. 25th 2009 will last until Sep. 25th 2010. Six month membership from then would last until Mar. 25th, 2010)
  6. Why does it say that you bought premier membership in 1969 on the premier members list? O_o

  7. Wow, that's pretty neat. I usually only get weird fortunes from fortune cookies. *lol* My favorite, though, is still one that my brother got years ago: "Something on four wheels will be a fun investment for you." To this day, it sits in the trunk of the model Enzo Ferrari he has on display.
  8. Spa-Francorchamps: one of the most awe-inspiring race-tracks in the world.
  9. Cool. I'll put you up in the list pending a story, but if you can't come up with anything, no big deal. I won't be deleting this, because there are plenty of writers who have offered to lend a hand

    Overload

I love war stories, and I think this would be better than any of the others so far, depending again on how it's written. But I have no doubt you'll pull it off well. You're out of luck, 'cause I'm almost finished with the Kolhii songfic right now. I had more motivation to write the one I've gone with than any of the others because of the song behind it. You'll have to wait 'til the fourteenth to see it, though. I might pursue some of these ideas in the future if other projects/school don't get in the way. The inspiration behind the Core War story would've been from "My Very Dear Sarah", an apparently popularly documented love letter from a Civil War soldier to his wife on the day before his death. The similarities were there, but I think it would've been too short, and not focused enough on romance for a V-Day story. This would be quite cool. Especially if it's anywhere near as cool as The Sniper. =P So I guess my favorites are the last two and the second. It really depends more on the plot and how things are written that what has been said above, so I'm not exactly sure what I would like to see the most. In the end, I most likely would've gone with this one if it weren't for the fact that I had written "Wish You Were Here" not even a month ago. Haven't really figured out how I want their relationship to go in the full story, and didn't want to give away an ending before I had decided on a suitable conclusion. I also didn't want to create too many alternate plotlines, either. *lol* If you want more to read more from S&D, "Wish You Were Here" is still without any reviews...
  11. E.E. Cummings is a pretty neat poet, if you ask me. I couldn't get over his bizarre typography at first, but beneath that, some of his poems are pretty powerful. There was one I read the other day that I liked very much; it's a shame I can't remember its name.
  12. No problem. The more people in the club, the better.
  13. You are now my hero. R+J reference FTW. ~ BCmon
  14. Cool! Would you like me to add one of the stories you linked to, or do you want to wait me to wait until you finish writing the Kiina/Berix story before I add one of your stories to the list? I suppose you could have two stories--I just want to know if you wanted the linked ones on the list or not.

    Iphone

I don't think this is necessarily true for everyone--my Dad hates Apple products probably more than anyone else I know, and never thought he'd end up with an iPhone, but he did. And let me tell you, it will be perfect for you if you need a mobile way of sending and receiving e-mails and browsing the web. For that alone, it's worth it. There are plenty of apps on it to keep you busy, as well, and because it also plays movies and music, you should be good for a while. The only complications he had with it was setting up a way to sync e-mail accounts with his computer; because it can't use any of the Apple e-mail apps, he had to get it working through g-Mail or something. I can't remember exactly. As far as damaging it goes, there are screen protectors and a number of cases you can buy that are small and unobtrusive, yet protect it against a hard impact if you drop it. Can't remember what brand he has; I think it was OtterBox or something. I personally don't think I'd need one--getting along fine now without a cellphone--but everyone has different tastes. If mobile e-mail/texting is your thing, I'd say go with it.
