Some bad news for anyone like me, who's LEGO STAR WARS II for PC doesn't work, even with the optional updates from Windows.

I e-mailed Lucas Arts, and it turns out there is a widespread problem with LEGO Star Wars II, and they are working on a fix for it.

Luckily, however, it works on our laptop, so I can play it there. Almost equal quality, but not the same.

Oh, well.

On my progress, I've completed the first two levels of both Episode IV and Episode V. My favorite so far has to be the Hoth Battle. The vehicle movement in this one is much better than the previous LEGO STAR WARS. I used to hate Battle over Coruscant. I never got used to the fact that up was down and down was up...ugh.

VK

that means even if i don't get it, it won't work! mad.gif this is realy unfair for someone like me who is a way bigger fan of lego star wars 2 than ALMOST anyone, the more I have to wait, the more I want it, thats the problem. sad.gif

That looks like what he said. It works on some computers, evidently (or are the rest of you all playing it on separate consoles?), but not all.

My PC version doesn't work either -- got the same message that CotK did. That makes a grand total of four PC-bound BZPers with messed up copies.

My only suggestion to everyone is to download the demo from the mini-site if you haven't already, and just play that until they come up with a fix for this. tongue.gif

But I can talk about the demo at least. It causes me to believe that this game is going to be one of the best ones that LEGO has ever released -- the thing with LSW I was that I wasn't familiar with half of the scenes, so it didn't make as much of an impression upon me. That, and I personally don't think that films I through III truly lived up to IV through VI. Episode I almost did, and Episode II sort of did, but by the time it got to Episode III... let's just say that I was amazed that some of those LEGO levels were actually fun. tongue.gif I actually enjoyed the Battle Over Coruscant level, as it was a nice compensation for the fact that we didn't get to blow up the Trade Federation Flagship as all of the early previews would have us believe (I never got over that).

So to make a long point short, I'm really looking forward to LSW II because I actually liked all three of those movies all the way through. They became classics for a reason.

While I enjoyed most of LSW I, some of the later levels were a bit "out there" to me, at least.

Onuki, if you have a laptop, you might want to install it there. It worked on my family's DELL Laptop, and that's how I'm able to play the game.

They're ten - one for each mission. The rest are found by doing levels with True Jedi Status in Free Play, doing Story Mode, and getting the minikit and red brick, I think.

Whats the "red brick?"

I used to have one... then it died. tongue.gif

What operating system do you use on your laptop and on your desktop computer, respectively? I don't think it has much to do with things, as the game wouldn't run on one computer of mine that was running XP, while it would run on another XP machine (although there were lots of other variables, so I don't think it was totally random), but it might help to know.

I saw "I am your Father," and the destruction of the Death Star II, cutscenes on a video reivew. LOL! That was funny.

IMPORTANT NEWS!

I have found the patch for LEGO STAR WARS II.

You can now install it if you have the same problem as myself, with the Defaul~1.cab

You can find it at the following link:

It's a cheat brick hidden in each level that unlocks a cheat in the shop. Usually, it doubles the power of something, but there are other things, too.

LSW 2 is hillarious. I'm not going to spoil anything for the people who need the PC version, but the opening for Episode 6 is hillarious.

I've got the same problem. I think there's some objective that lets you use all the parts, but I'm not sure what. I'm sure there's something you have to do- for example, I've got Slave Leia's hip piece (is that what you call it? It's the piece where Han's belt is on his minifigs) but not her legs. I know the legs have to be in there, because there's a picture on Wikipedia of a custom minifig with Vader's helmet and Slave Leia's body, but...

And even weirder was when I started the game and had parts from Episode VI characters...

But the game really is fun- and since someone asked where the Invincibility power brick is, I think it's in Episode IV, Chapter 5 (or whichever one the Death Star escape is, y'know, the one where Obi-Wan buys the proverbial farm). I've only got one story mission left, and then it's time to unlock everything and get True Jedi on every mission... I'm going to need invincibility. Thank goodness you can get 200,000 studs for every playthrough of the Mos Eisley level.
GRESHIO'S
I think Episode 4 is the hardest out of all of them!

-ZotS
Snoopy82 the Overlord
You mean you got the game ZotS? Great!
Yeah, Episode Four is tough.
Episode Five is a breeze, though.

The BH missions were easy.
Now I have to get all of the minikits
and Bonus levels, and I'll be done!
I need some tips with all of the
Bonus Levels, M-1.
Dominus Temporis
I could use a little help too- on the last chapter of Episode IV (the Death Star level), there's a minikit behind a TIE Fighter door that has an electric barrier of some sort in front of it. How do I get past this? It's especially frustrating 'cause that's the last one I need on that level.

(Oh, and about the parts thing I mentioned last time I posted- I checked, and now I have some more parts I'm 100% certain I didn't have before, so I think they get unlocked as you progress, but...)
GRESHIO'S
Has anyone got to the secret city?

IPB Image

In the first section, find a group of
garbage cans. Use the force on the lids,
but don't destroy them. Then force the
pieces out of them. Build a door, use R2
to get it open, and voila!
I still need nine bricks until I get to the city.
Mobius
actually, you can destroy them, as long as you remove the lids first.

who else thinks the bounty hunter levels are awesome? I do, mainly because you CAN'T USE DENGAR'S DANG HAT PIECE FOR CUSTOM CHARACTERS!
Meca One
The bonus levels? You mean the minikit vehicle bonus levels and such? Well, I suggest you make sure you're always picking up money, and also try to use thermal detonators and torpedoes (for character and vehicle stages respectively) on the objects that require them as much as you can, since they have heaps of purple studs (which are worth 10,000). The object of these levels is to get 1,000,000 studs.

The best vehicle to use, in my opinion, is the X-Wing, and if you have the first game, the Arc-170.

And you get gold bricks for each story level you complete, not by getting power bricks.

If you want gold bricks fast, get the power brick behind the X-wing in level 5 in Episode V. It's a minikit detector. And if you don't really want the gold bricks, you'll probably at least want the mystery vehicle, which you get by getting all the minikits.

Also, it took me a while to realize you can go in Yoda's hut with a 'short' person. There's a minikit piece in there. He also has some interesting items in there, like a plasma TV and a laptop computer. laugh.gif

I'm afraid I can't really help you Togariku, 'cause I don't remember getting that one, since my brother was playing that level.

m.gif e.gif c.gif a.gif
Bon Jovi
In ps2 will it take all the vehicle for the minkits (in lego star wars) and make for use in Ls2 and the chareactars too?
Meca One
Possibly. I don't have any gaming consoles apart from a PC.

I'm annoyed how there seem to be few OT sets next year...the AT-ST is the only one I find interesting...

Has anybody noticed that some of the LSW 1 characters have been slightly improved, It's most noticable with Jango Fett, he can throw Thermal detonaters now, and actually fly instead of floating over the ground. Also, if you buy the bounty hunter rockets bnus from the store, he can fire missles just like when fighting him in the first game.

They're coming out with sets from the Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones next year!? I can't wait for the Droid battle pack, I never got any Super battle droids. mad.gif

Zaktan -- When you exit the Garbage masher, there will be a door with a Protocol Droid panel. Open the door and go in. You will find yourself in another garbage masher. Build the pile of bricks to the left of the screen and us the force on it when you're done. Get the power brick from inside it.

Biogreg -- I don't remember shields being there. There's just a Bounty Hunter camera placed over it that you need Leia to stand in front of. (And then press the special ability key)

Sweet a naboo star fighter! A MTT this awesome. The sets i find most appealing are:

-AT-ST

-Y-wing
-Battle packs (both)
-MTT
-Grevous fighter

basically i like them all so i have no complaints this year.
