NEWS!
There's gonna be a new Hailfire Droid with a Dwarf Spider Droid, 2 Super Battle Droids and 4 Battle Droids.
Also a new Hoth Battle Pack of sorts, contents unknown, but there are no Tauntauns.
Lego really loves us Droid fans!

Sweet. It seems like Lego decided to save their best set ideas
for the last few years of the liscence.
It ends in '11, right?

There will also be a Grievous model that when assembled is about 12 inches high, and potentiall with a real cloth cape included....I have seen this model myself and it is really fantastic. It will be one of the UCS models for next year.
EDIT 1: Here's some more news
The two new battlepacks other than the Stormie battlepack will be:
Hoth Battlepack - Contents unknown, but NO Taun Taun
Droid Battlepack - 4 battle droids, 2 super battle droids, a dwarf spider droid and a hailfire droid!
The names aren't accurate/confirmed, I just made them up based on the contents
LEGO loves us - we're getting a technic General Grivous. Sweet. I want his cape for some of my BIONICLE MOCs.

How much do you think Grievus will be? Over a hundred? The rebel packs sound cool and so does the stormies and droids. Will they all be ten dollars? Man, we are getting spoiled.

-TMD You see, you shouldn't jump into conclusions too soon. It could be a brick built statue rather than a technic model, alhtough, presonally, I think that the idea of a poseable technic figure is more likely. Maybe they'll find a way to incorporate Bionicle pieces into the model too, seeing that Bionicle and GG have the mechanical look in common. Guess we'll have to wait and see. I'm not a Lego SW fan but the idea of a Grievous model intrugues me.

EDIT: Nothing new on the GG statue, but some more info on the BPs.QUOTE(On the Storm Trooper BP)
Basically you get 4 stormies, some blue, bley and black pieces with the Empire logo, and a little cockpit with windshield (tinted) ....the stormies ride on the sides of it...kinda like a mini helicopter dropship thingie....
QUOTE(On the Droids BP)
The battledroids are not sand red....it would make sense but they aren't . You do get at least one or two commanders with the colored torso markings....but the battle droids are tan, and the supers are the new metallic blue....

Not too sure if they're right...If I remember correctly, the first source said there would two stormtroopers and 1 pilot, but the second says you get 4 stormies. Still not convinced why Anakin should have the Delta-7 in that color, when he never uses a Delta-7 that color. As for Grievous, LEGO has done brick-build statues (Darth Maul and Yoda) and Technic models before (Jango Fett, Darth Vader, R2-D2, C-3PO).

It might be a simple minifig redesign, regardless of episode, like how they redesigned the pilot and security battle droid torsos, or a color change, like the change from grey to bley.
I don't think Saesee Tiin should have a hood, as it could prevent him from having horns that are visible.

And a cape from a Technic Grievous would have plenty of MOCing potential.

These new sets have tons of potential... I hope they live up to our high expectations after this year.
Hmm... those battle packs are nice. The Hoth one will go great with the base, but I hate no Taun-Tauns.

I bet this one will come with Rebels and Stormies, and vehicles from the different factions.
Plus I think the Droid battlepack will be MUCH more than $10. Maybe it isn't even a battlepack, more like a droid faction set. But I'm liking those blue Supers, great for those of us who missed out on them in 2003!

2008 sounds great so far.

Super Battle Droids are actually staying gunmetal.
Hailfire Droid will be about one-third of the size of the humungous technic version, so more accurate.
AT-PT might actually be the AT-AP.
The new sets are 7667 - 7672.

Actually, I'm sure they changed it because the blue plastic was apparently poor quality, as they broke quite easily, while the gunmetal plastic is much stiffer.
If it's the AT-AP, then it will have two legs and a third retractable leg.

I only have two of them, from the old Republic Gunship. By switching parts, one them is complete, but the other has its torso taped to its legs, and one arm can't be used because both ends are broken.

There are still one or two direct to consumer exclusives planned, like a Target or Toys R Us (though we know what TRU's is...) similar to the 7283 offering. This means that TLC still have a surprise or two for 2008. What is not a surprise is that those exclusives will not be EU. So something from one trilogy or the other.
QUOTE
Finally, a quick comment to ammend my earlier notes. You may have already concluded this on your own, but the first half of 2008 will tie in the Force Unleased video game. Specifically the Anakin fighter and Rogue Shadow fighter. This is the reason the Anakin fighter isn't something we have seen before...as it is the videogame version. It is indeed a version that has predominantly gray and yellow pieces, and is the Ep. 2 style.
QUOTE(concerning Rogue Shadow set)
You get 3 in total. I don't know the character names of two, but you do get a scarred Anakin head which seems to be the same scarred face design on light gray head from the 7251 Vader Transformation set, no vader helmet seems to be included .....of course per the story of the game.
He goes on to say that it'll come with the officer Juno Eclipse and Vader's secret apprentice.
Sounds cool, no?
