Built the Imperial Star Destroyer... it's... so... darn... awesome...! I'm so happy to have a Darth Vader fig in my collection!
BTW, did anyone hear that LEGO has renewed their liscence with Star Wars until 2011? I heard it somewhere... I can't remember where... but if they did, that'll be cool!
Nice review of the DS version, Zaktan606! Disappointing that those two levels aren't in the game, but I'll take what I can get! I've got a few questions for you:
- Is Indiana Jones a playable/customable character? Argh, just found out he wasn't. Such a bummer.
- Are the Red Power Bricks involved?
- Are the Minikits invovled? And in what way? (for LSWII, they unlocked Bounty Hunters and Ghost Jedi; what do they do here?)
- Are the cutscenes actually cutscenes? Or are they stills like in LSWTVG for GBA? Never mind, saw a gameplay video myself.
- Are there Bounty Hunter levels?
- In what ways are the Customable Characters better/worse? I know you already mentioned the Jet Pack (bummer... they were so cool in LSWII!) and Palpatine's hair.
- Is there a LEGO City level?
- Is there a LSWTVG Episode IV level?
- Is there the Battle Arena?
- How close is it gameplay-wise to the other versions?
- During Minifig (not Vehicle) levels, can you get in/out of a vehicle?
- Even though Anakin's Flight and Speeder Chase are not playable, can you unlock the vehicles for Free Play in other levels?
Thanks in advance!

I made this on LDD some time ago, but I need suggestions for improvements. Not satisfied with the official LEGO DRK-1 Sith probes, I made my own. I probably have the pieces for this, but all my completely black antennae are being used as battle droid backpacks with 1x2 tan plates.

Sorry... haven't gotten on the forums recently...1. Yes, there's one in every level and they get you extras and mini-games.2. In this mini-kits just give you percentage, show you mini-models, and give you a gold brick for 10/10.3. No.4. Well... Previously you could change sleeve colour, arm colour, etc. Now you can't and for some reason one helmet makes the fig's head float. Certain headpieces change the face automatically. The good thing is you can shoose what kind of character they are (Bounty Hunter, Blaster, Short, Jedi/Sith) and there's pieces from both trilogies.5. No.6. No.7. No.8. It's closer to LSW2 and ahs building materials, and things. One new feature is sometimes you have to do mini-games to open doors with certain characters.9. No vehicles.10. Don't think so

A clarification on Wilhem:
You go to a room off of the Cantina, watch the trailer for the video game, then you buy him for around 20,000 studs. He's a neat character, his whip's got a good reach and the bullets he shoot are cool to watch. Besides that he's exactly the same as Han Solo.

YAY! I might be receiving my long-awaited LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga for Nintendo DS... TOMORROW! WHOOT! I hope the wait was worth it... I had to order it off of S@H because I knew that it would give you some exclusive code for the game or whatnot...
And thanks for answering my questions, Zaktan606! BTW, in LSWII for DS, you couldn't change sleeve/arm color. Nor could you change hand color or hip color.
I need recommondations for those who have LEGO Star Wars: The Video Game and LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy. What PC or Mac would be the best to play them on? I might be getting a new computer soon, so I'd like to get a PC or Mac version of those games... provided I can find them in stores, of course! I've seen them around, so...

I got LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga for Nintendo DS on Tuesday. It... is... so... darn... AWESOME!
I don't have the time to give a full review (I'll do that later!), but here's a few comparisons between it and LSWII for DS:
- Only two characters, three in LSWII, are customable in TCS.
- The format for customizing characters is different in TCS, more like the console versions. Unfortunately, due to that, it's harder to customize them than in LSWII.
- You can create Bounty Hunters who can actually throw bombs.
- Blaster-weilding characters are unable to wear cloaks, as customable characters. This also affects how some official characters look (Lando is without his awesome tan-colored cloak).
- Aside from Lightsabers, General Grievous Bodyguard Staffs, Vibro-Axes, and Royal Guard Spears, there are no melee weapons, and of those melee weapons only the Lightsaber can be used in custom characters.
- Some characters look different. Tatooine Luke has white legs; Bespin Leia has white sleeves; Wicket looks more like his console counterpart; Disguised Lando has a different torso, and looks very awkward due to this.
- TCS has the Dagobah level, omitted completely from LSWII.
- The Tatooine Wastes and Mos Eisley Spaceport are now seperate levels. However, the latter feels very butchered, for the Cantina part is merely a cutscene, and there aren't any Mos Eisley residents walking about.
- Rescue the Princess and Death Star Escape are now combined. You don't fight Darth Vader as Obi-Wan here, unlike LSWII, though in Free Play you can enter the room that which they're fighting in (you have to be careful you don't get hit by their Lightsabers).
- No Free Play for the Vehicle levels.
- Betrayal over Bespin and Sky City Trap are now combined. You briefly fight Boba Fett as a boss here.
- Jabba's Palace and the Great Pit of Carkoon are now combined. You don't fight the Rancor at all. In fact, the Rancor is not seen the game at all.
- The placement of Jedi Destiny and Into the Death Star are reversed, putting them in the same order as that of the console versions.
- Most intruiging of them all: PRACTICALLY NO GLITCHES!
BTW, at S@H, it said that "Order by November 30th and receive a code to unlock exclusive content!" That's where I got my copy of TCS, but there was no code that unlocked "exclusive content." Even stranger, is that there is no place to give codes, so even if there was a code there would not be a place to enter it.
Usually, you give a code to Dexter/Wuher and they unlock whatever, but Wuher does not have that feature in this version of this game. Oh well.

Nov 24 2007, 12:08 PM
Yeah, it's pretty darn awesome. Although, there are a few downsides:
- The Custom Character Creator format, other than having pieces from the Prequel Trilogy and creating Bounty Hunters who throw bombs, is not as good as LSWII DS. The characters themselves are great, it just... takes extra effort to create them.
- Characters whose appearances changed for the worse (*coughdisguisedLandocough*)
- Double-jumping is now only given to Jedi, Sith, and a few select other characters (like General Grievous's bodyguard). This means there is no diving/rapid-fire for Luke and Han, and no falling for Imperial Stormtroopers.
- The cutscenes, although they make an attempt to duplicate the humor in the console versions, just aren't as funny due to their Monty Python's Flying Circus-style format.
- You never battle the Rancor.
- No full-scale Bar Fights in the Cantina.
- Wuher does not appear in the Cantina.
- No cheat codes to give to Wuher.
- Awkward format for vehicle levels, though one can easily adapt to it.
- Most Power Bricks are for the Minigames, only a few are for extras.
Also, I haven't unlocked the Extra Toggle cheat (if there is one) yet, but the following characters don't seem to be in the game:
- Wuher
- The Biths
- MSE-6, aka Mouse Droid
- Han Solo in Carbonite (he was such a funny character in LSWII DS whenever he tried to jump)
- Biggs Darklighter
- Wedge Antilles
- Skeleton
- Womp Rat
- Any of the new characters for the other versions of TCS (like Aayla Secura, Jabba da Hutt, Plo Koon, or Lama Su)
- Indiana Jones, but that's already said at this point.
Other than that, it's an awesome game. And I'll get back to you on the case about all the missing characters, once I unlock and purchase the Extra Toggle cheat (if there is one.)

The graphics are amazing, and using the SIXAXIS controller to do vehicle levels is great fun. I've also ordered the strategy guide and it should turn up soon, so I'll be able to make a definitive list of all 23 new characters (I believe that's the right figure). The pimped up character customizer is great, it features parts to build most cutscene-only people (Ponda, Evazan, General Veers, ESB ending Luke and Nien Numb to name but a few).

No playable Jabba I'm afraid, and a lot of the new characters aren't that useful or exciting. Aayla and Plo are just more Jedi, R2-Q5 is just a different coloured astromech, Captain Tarpals is okay; he can super and attack, Zam Wessel can't do rolls like Greddo, Dengar and Bossk, Watto only has a droid zapper, Boss Nass can only single jump (no attacks or special abilities), Dexter I
believe is close combat, though I haven't bought him yet, the two Kaminoans are like Boss Nass (only single jumps) and the Pit Droid is basically a differnet shaped PK Droid (they fold up rather than break if you Force push them though). Indy however, is brilliant. He shoots little bullets, and it's great fun whipping enemies using the close up attack.

How come they get two of everything?
Several reasons:
They have the money.
These are the cheapest sets with snowtroopers.
The set has a pretty decent number of minifigs for a $50 sets, considering sets like the 10178 AT-AT, with a single snowtrooper, Luke, AT-AT driver, and "Veers".
Some people buy sets like this just to have a fleet of ships or vehicles.
If you get two Echo doors, that's more of a base than one.

After all, most ships in OT are gray. Plus, you can never have too many Imperials! I wonder what the Magna Guard starfighter is? I expected that LEGO would release Asajj Ventress... And those MINIs have already been made...

Alright, I'm nearly done with LSW:TCS for Nintendo DS. 93.5% complete, to be exact (there's a little timer in the cantina that tells you how long you've been playing and how much you've completed). All I really have to do is find three more Minikits, purchase the rest of the Extras, and achieve Gold Bricks for 7 more Minigames.
The Extras and the Minigames I think I can handle. On the other hand, despite searching (almost) every nook and cranny, I cannot find the three Minikits. I do not know which ones they are (or else I would know how to get them!), but I know what levels they are on:
1) Escape from Naboo (Episode I, Level 2)
2) Gunship Cavalry (Episode II, Level 4)
3) Dagobah (Episode V, Level 4)
To anyone who has found all the Minikits on any of these three levels, could you please post their locations? I'll be able to figure out which one of the ten of each level I haven't found. And I know that it's not any of the Fruit Pickup Minikit, for starters.

I've just discovered that the General Grievous set we've heard about is actually #10180. It's an Ultimate Collector's General Grievous Starfighter.

DudeNuva Are you sure? Someone made a MOC on a different forum and made a picture that made it look like it was on a official box. If you got it from an image online it may be the one I'm referring to...
EDIT:
THIS is the picture I'm referring too. It's a MOC.

Also, if you think about, why would LEGO make a set out of an obscure ship that appears in the movie for 2 seconds? From the info I've gleaned, 10186 will include trans-blue and trans-green cylinders, probably for lightsabers, so I think it's a Technic figure.

Lightsabers sounds like the most likely explanation for those. I thought it'd be a head bust like Darth Maul.
