You mean AT-AP ;P. I will be getting at least one of each set, and maybe multiples of BPs.

I will pick up a bunch of BP's for sure...

I know what you mean, we have to get a lot of Rebel troopers to make up for the lack of them in the past years. The Rebel speeder isn't that bad, but the dropship is total [insert bad word here].
.Akira +
The drop ship is very bad. But, I still will pick up one or two. However, we should have gotten a scout trooper in the battle packs, don't you think?
TX-158
The rebel's "bobsled" is really starting to grow on me... But the dropship, I'll put the pieces in the spare bin. I do use them. My older cousin found a mega-blok figure on the ground so I built a torture chamber! :evilgrin:The rebel's "bobsled" is really starting to grow on me... But the dropship, I'll put the pieces in the spare bin. I do use them. My older cousin found a mega-blok figure on the ground so I built a torture chamber! evilgrin.gif And a scout trooper would've been awesome! It could have a sniper rifle... Perfect... And I don't see the point of the shadow stormies. Sure, it's nice, but they're for secretive operations and whatnot.
.Akira +
Too bad everything is on backorder. Even the Hoth Base seems to be the most popular I heard. But I doubt I'd spend the money on the Hoth Base anyway.
Ta-metru_defender
Dude, I'm gonna get at least 4 Stormie BP's, the four Shadow Troopers will end up becoming Omega Squad... =3
And the pieces will be nice, I always need more of those cockpits. The stickers will probably decorate my iPod or something, lol.
As for the Rebels and their bobsled, I'll probably use the turrets as turrets and keep one of the bobsleds built.

We should've had one scoutie, snowie, or sandie (preferably not the latter) along with a shadow stormies and the regular stormies. I'm glad they included a shadow stormie. It's a cheap alternative to the overpriced TIE Crawler. I find it amusing when someone makes a huge rant on shadow stormies. Example:
QUOTE
Man, that sucks! The pilot of an imperial dropship is a shadowtrooper!
What the... I really thought they would have included a pilot, because it makes sense!

I didn't know that Shadowtroopers were trained to fly infantry craft... The rebels of Episodes IV,V & VI would never have battled Shadowtroopers!
I am really dissapointed.

They are no good for any diorama that one might want to build of a battle that takes place during the movies. Shadowtroopers didn't exist until long after the Battle of Endor.

I would much rather have tens of pilots, if not simply to fly the craft for chronological sci-fi realism (which they normally should be ), but to use in a diorama of the Emperor's Imperial Shuttle in the landing bay of the Death Star and the troops of the Imperial navy/army lined up to welcome him. Shadowtroopers are useless for this! And by that rationale, Shadowtroopers are useless, except for inclusion in a Tie Crawler kit.

Shadowtroopers are EU and shouldn't be included in an imperial battle pack, not if its sister pack are rebel troopers.
The rebels were long gone, there were New Rebublic soildiers by the time the idea of BlackHole Strormtrooper battlions existed...

Q. How many Shadowtroopers fought the Rebels on the Tantive IV? A. None. Q. How many Shadowies did you see in the original trilogy? A. None Q. Why are there Shadowtroopers instead of Imperial Navy Pilots? A. Because someone made a stupid decision to put BlackHoles in place of Navy pilots.
Need I say more...

If you are looking to buy cheap Shadowtroopers, and in bulk, come early 2008, check out Bricklink. 'Cos I'm going to be getting rid of all of mine...

I think the TLC is making a big mistake with this choice. Lame, TLC, very lame. Some of the guys running the biz just must not get it. Some kids may not care, but I'm sure the true fans (who spend a lot of money on Lego) care about some degree of storyline integrity.

What's next, putting rebel troops in a Snowspeeder or A-wing re-release instead of a pilot!

Aagh!!!

I had to take out the emoticons, but you get the message. Seems this guy is taking things too far. . .

Yes. The Rebel battlepack includes four overdue Rebel troopers as they appear on Tantive IV in ANH. The vehicle is a scout speeder that looks like a bobsled. It holds three minifigs with a fourth on the removable turret in the back. The helmets have a removable black visor, and it's a new mold. The face and torso are new prints. The set comes with three short blasters and one blaster rifle.
The Imperial battlepack includes three stormtroopers and one blackhole stormtrooper. The stormies have a new mouth which is grey with black stripes as opposed to black from earlier versions. The blackhole is basically a stormie with inverted colors. The vehicle is a pretty dumb dropship which actually drops stormies on a plate. It can hold four minifigs on the plate and a pilot in the cockpit.

EDIT: I started this post at sometime like 4:00 but finished at about 8:00 because I had to go somewhere.

Has anyone heard on the radio that like every kid wants Lego Star Wars? Practically they are as hard to find as a Wii it seems. But I don't know it may be just my state or area. The Hoth Rebel Base is probably the hottest items so if you can find it, try to sell it on Ebay. But I would keep it probably.

BTW, I have a digital camera now, so pictures can be taken and uploaded quickly. I will be doing a review on every new set I get. I hope to be doing one on the AT-AT.
DudeNuva
Yeah, I've noticed... tongue.gif

Anyway, I just watched the preview for the Star Wars: The Clone Wars series, and it looks absolutely fantastic. I even caught a glimpse of what Anakin will look like in the series, and his appearance is actually dead-on with the Lego.

Also, Vader's Apprentice seems to be the main character in Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, so it makes sense that Lego would create the Rogue shadow first in their line of sets. happy.gif

I only wish they had printed all around the head so when you take the hood off, he wouldn't look like he completely tatooed his head black. Also a hornpiece (like a hairpiece) would've been nice. Well, from pics I saw, it looked the new Maul had black pupils, while the old one had reddish pupils. I may be wrong, though.
Old Maul That's the best pic I could find for now. I'll look for a better pic if I have the time.
New Maul
I personally prefer the new Maul, the black contrasts nicely against the yellow, even if red is more accurate.

-ZotS

It's just the eyes, to be honest, I didn't know about the difference until I looked closely at the pics.

Prices, from Brickset:
TX-130: $50!?
V-19: $50 again!?
TIE Defender: $30 Hope it's good
Magnaguard ship: $50 Haven't seen it yet
AT-TE: $90 Better be good
RGS: $100 See above

Those prices seem really strange. Why would TLC release that many new sets in that price range? The TX-130 and V-19 are smaller than the TIE Defender, yet both of them are selling for $20 more. All I can say about that is that it better be a really good design with new minifigs and lots of extras, or it's a rip-off. Maybe those are just prelim prices.
For those prices, I hope that the AT-TE and RGS will be very close to minifig scale. Some new Ep. II pilot minifigs would be nice, maybe ARCs, maybe even AT-TE commanders. I hope the RGS has bent wings, a reasonably accurate shape, fully enclosed gun pods, swiveling nose guns and back gun, and accurate turrets with moving wings. I hope the AT-TE has actual moving legs.
The TIE Defender is my favorite TIE. It's just pure awesome. I think $25 would've been a better price, since it's basically a TIE Interceptor, move the wings and add a third wind, invert them, move the cockpit forward a bit, and there you go.

I wonder if TLC has some more sets up their sleeve. If you add the CW sets, you get 6. It was supposed to be 8, unless TLC changed their mind. I wonder if Twilight is going to be released. I'm pretty sure it's the main ship in CW, it would make sense to release it. Maybe later? I don't know. It looks like they also eliminated the droid gunship. I had been hoping for one to increase my army. It looks like I'll have to build my own.

Also, if you bought an ISD in its first run, you might want to get a service pack that will strengthen the bottom. The ISD was slightly changed for the second run, so if you already got it, they're offering a free service pack for those people, like me. Same thing happened with Jango Fett's Slave I, AT-TE, Destroyer Droid, and MTT (the old one).[/url]

I don't see much of a difference between the old and new Darth Maul... wacko.gif

It's just the eyes, to be honest, I didn't know about the difference until I looked closely at the pics.

Prices, from Brickset:
TX-130: $50!?
V-19: $50 again!?
TIE Defender: $30 Hope it's good
Magnaguard ship: $50 Haven't seen it yet
AT-TE: $90 Better be good
RGS: $100 See above

Those prices seem really strange. Why would TLC release that many new sets in that price range.

The prices actually aren't too unusual, when you compare them to the 2007 summer sets. The Sith Infiltrator and Naboo Starfighter were both $30, Echo Base and JSwHBR were $50, the Republic Cruiser was $90, and the MTT was $100. Almost the exact same; you never know, one of the $50 ones could change to a lower price, which is actually very likely. happy.gif

They might release the other two CW sets into January of 2009, because the actual series only debuts in the fall.

Anyway, those sets sound awesome. Can't wait for pictures.

Wow, RGS and AT-TE. Exciting except for those prices. They better be good, but I'm sure they will. They might have the AT-TE with power functions because A: they have made the AT-AT with power functions and B: they up'd the price a $20 on both which would pay for that enhancement. But the RGS is $100, better come with a lot of figures.

Now we're left to wonder whether Episode III clones will be included, or if the Episode II clones will return.

Possibly some Jedi, like Ki-Adi Mundi or Plo Koon. That's pretty likely, since it'll be a CW set and the Jedi play a large role.

Ohh... the new sets sound great. I hope the TIE Crawler is good for $30 dollars. It is so awsome.
