i got the AT-TE on july 26th wich makes me one of the first bzpers to own it

Is the AT-TE worth the money?

Okay guys, I'm sorry that it has taken me about three weeks, but here's my review of the #7676 Republic Attack Gunship:

Just to make it easy, I'll post a link to my Brickshelf #7676
I don't really have any pictures of the construction, but I tried to get every angle of the completed set.

Construction: 10/10

The build is not complicated, yet not boring; it is probably as good as or better than the MTT.
The guns on the top of the ship are awesome, the side panels are way more accurate than the first,
and the cockpits actually open!

Playability: 9/10

I gave it a nine because I'm really disapointed that this model does not have the side bubble guns.
As for every other aspect of this set, I am really impressed.

Value for money: 6/10

I really think that this set should have been $100, and even then it should have more than five minifigures.
But then, since I got this gunship without figs for $80 and I'm getting it for Christmas with figs (MISB for $105 on Ebay with shipping!),
I came out pretty good.

P.S. I just turned my gunship into a LAAT/C , I'll try to take some pictures this week.

When I first saw the blurry prelim pic of this set, I knew I had to have it. It was simply awesome, and It was my second favorite vehical of the droid faction in the star wars saga. One thing saddened me however: Lego was choosing to make the new one, Called the Droid Gunship Platform. THEY DIDN"T MAKE THE MAF!

Now as you can see, they have some similarities, but the MAF has mor of a cockpit, and was the original Droid gunship. Instead they made the HMP Droid Gunship, which feaures a somewhat disfferent design.

On to the review.


Here we have the box. It is really shiny, and smooth, and fits the set's size okay. It has a clean, bright look, and is truley outstanding.


The back of the box, which has the features of the set, as well as the other three CW sets.


The contents(These two pics were at my grandma's house.)


The siticker sheet. No to bad, and the stickers have clear backs, which is always nice.


Instructions


Here we have the figs(two new droids and one older armed droid for the cockpit), and the extra parts.


The build starts with the flat base. Pretty simple.


The bottom.


The side lasers.

Next is the head:

It starts pretty soild.


The side buble laser turrets. Loveing the detail.

On the ship:



The "lid" and eyes.


The finished cockpit.


Cozy interior... Would have had more room if it were the MAF though. :sceptic:


The front landing gear. Simple and effective. :classic:


The back landing gear.


The rockets. The clips are annoying. But it make the rockets work so, I guess it was nessecary.


Mounted on the bottom. Not very secure, but that's why they are meant to be dropped on the clones.... :devil: :tongue:

Let me say that the droid gunship is a nice set indeed. I am not to fond of the rocket dropping mechanism, as it makes the rockets look silly. The detail in the front end is beautiful! But the small cockpit isn't the greatest. I would have prefered the MAF's cockpit instead. Overall, it is mildly recommended.

No, the droid gunship has many missles and torpedoes that it carries. Drop rockets are only LEGo's description like flick fire. Please take a look at this diagram.

Hmm... Alright, I kinda want to talk about it now, so I'll probably write a review, tomorrow at earliest. There will be cons, but in the long run, you can probably expect to want to buy it.

Edit: An AT-TE review would be nice, also. I probably won't get it because of price, but I'd like to see what it's like. Maybe it'll somehow be overwhelmingly worth the price.

Well, whenever I get any of the other sets, I'll post reviews, but I've seen tons of different reviews for different sets in the new CW line on other websites.

BTW, there will be a clone trooper battle pack next year with the EPII clones, I saw the images.

thats great news, since the clones only come in more expensive sets, but i wouldn't be surprised if they were $15 instead of $10,

wait, I just found what he was talking about, its gonna be a clone pack and an assassin droid pack, if you search 2009 on brickshelf, it'll be the first thing to show up

Im not so shure those picks are legit
1. mace windu's face is not stylized like all the other clone wars sets
2. the same guy posted indiana jones pictures suposedly from the new 2009 line up and in the photo you can clearly see the nazi symbol lego would never put that on a box
3.there are no new prints exept some appear to be spray painted

I don't know... They really seem like something Lego would make. As for the Mace thing, the set could be just a prototype; it's probably just not finalized. They look like they could use some touching up, anyway...
