Bionicle Guru
Well, Bionicle Guru with Star Wars Lego news for ya. Just came back from Wal-Mart, and after oogling over the selection, immediately proceeded to dump items into my cart. The Lego items I purchased were the ARC-170 and the Clone Scout Walker. I was about to purchase the Clone Turbo Tank, when, for soem random reason, I decided to press Mace Windu's head and see that purple lightsaber.

Naturally, I was shocked when I pressed his head and saw his lightsaber shine...BLUE!

Yes, blue! No purple! Blue! I tried them all in the store, all were blue! Lego messed up royally, at least where I live. So I did not purchase the Tank.

Until somebody posts otherwise, I am officially warning all Star Wars Lego fans: avoid purchasing the Clone Turbo Tank for now since the piece for Mace Windu's lightsaber is not purple, but blue. If you really want a Mace Windu, don't buy that set yet.

Hopefully, Lego will fix that problem soon.

Hmm..The must of not noticed that.

I don't think I'm going to avoid purchasing a set because the lightsaber lights up the wrong colour.

And the reason it's blue is because you can't get purple LEDs that small, so Lego aren't going to fix it.
Victor Draven
Wow. Another reason not to get the CTT...
1. Pricey.
2. No Colors good for my upcoming Airship MOC.
3. Don't Really Want it.
4. Mace Windu's Lightsaber is apparently no longer an Electrum Lightsaber. glare.gif

Yeah what he said!! Stop critisizing the Clone Turbo Tank that all you guys were excited to get and now just cause Windu's lightsaber is blue?!? That's just STUPID. Sorry if I'm being mean but I don't like when people hate the whole set just cause of one or 2 things.

White LED + purple blade = purple glow.

Not sure which of these sets I'll be getting. I want General Grievous, but don't like the rest of the set much. Right now the Droid Tri-Fighter and Wookiee Attack are probably going on my birthday list.

Shame that this movie's May 19th, two days after my birthday. I liked the May 16th release better, so I could see it on the 17th. Oh well.

May 19! biggrin.gif
Victor Draven
I'm not ditching it because of the blue lightsaber. I never really wanted it in the first place anyway.
Time Agent
Well, to mess up the only Jedi that has a special color lightsaber... seems like a pretty big mistake to me. I don't think I'd avoid getting the set because of it, but the CTT was the last set on my list anyway. My real priority is the ARC-170.

Thats true. But doesn't Plo Koon have an Orange Saber?
My priority is General Greivious Chase right after I get Alpha Team Mobile Command Center tommorow. He is the coolest LEGO Star Wars Villain I've ever seen.
The Shadowed One
Don't get too excited over the Grievous fig; I like the cape, but the battle droid feet are a disappointment, and the arms, even though they fit four on him, are terrible to pose. Grievous just looks so absurd holding his lightsabers, and even moreso when he fights with them.
Victor Draven
Oh, ok. Oh well. He's still my favorite villain so far from looks.
Lego's Biggest Fan
Mace Windu's lightsaber is blue just like everyone elses, including Undulae, whos is supposed to be green. It looks green in the end but the LED is blue. I got all the sets, and the Wookie Catameran, ARC-170 fighter, and Clone Turbo Tank are the best ones. Theyre all great except for the General Greivous Chase. By the way...does anyone know if theyre going to make a set that has Anakin without the microphone on his head?
-Windrider-
Ah, for my 3000th post I get to rant about how awesome the ARC-170 fighter is. Of course I've ordered it, along with the other space-oriented sets. It's the best looking StarWars playset I've seen in awhile, and it just rocks.
Can't wait to get it. biggrin.gif

-Wind-
Victor Draven
The three thousandth is a great accomplishment. Good job!
Well, it looks like it won't matter anyway about the lightsabers... none of the sets I want have them!
Frosty
The clone wars tv series are making me(and many others it looks like) BUY GG CHASE AND ALL WHATS RELATED WITH GG!!If that was George Lucas and Gendy Tartakovsky goal, they have did it.

Back to topic I would really like GG Chase and ARC-170 fighter, just look at then, one has 5 lightsabers and GG,and the other 3 clone pilots and a astromech droid.MUST-BUY-MUST-BUY
GMan
I got GG chase AND Wookie Attack yesterday! The Chase set is SHA-WEET! I like the minifig, and the AMs were K-EWL! I [SIZE=7] WILL [Size/] get every set. I saw the preview for ep. 3 also, and I can see the uses for the ships and stuff. Hey, guys, you can remove the transparent lightsaber piece and replace it with another. So you can make an orange FX lightsaber. Shweet, huh? Must... Buy... All.. Sets... Moo,

Looks like I'll be getting GGC. Can't wait! I just have to start a saving after I get Mobile Command Center today....
Xeo
I have GG chase and General Grevious is a really good minifig. Only dissapointment is his battle droid legs.
Bionicle Guru
I did not post that warning about Mace Windu's saber color to express any discontent I have with the set. I am not trying to create an attitude against it. I just know several Star Wars fans will really want to buy the CTT because it is the first set with Mace Windu and a purple lightsaber, and that they won't press his head because they don't want to waste the battery. Therefore, I did all those fans a favor who wouldn't have otherwise until they had spent a good $90, like I was about to.

Of course, now I realize you can find guys who sell custom lightsaber blades colored purple, so that problem is easily fixed.

That's okay Bionicle Guru, I'm still getting it cause it comes with AWESOME storm/clone/sand trooper.

Plus the Mace Windu dilema could be solved if you had an imagination and pretended it was his lightsaber when he was an apprentice.
The Shadowed One
You don't have to buy the set to know about the blue light-up. There's a "Try me" feature on the set.

Anyways, I couldn't care less about what colors the figs have. I hate the light-up figs in the first place (can't dissect for parts, can't move the wrist...), so I just make my own Mace Windu.
Mandragora
I bought all the Episode III sets at 12:00 April 2. They are all pretty cool. The Clone Turbo Tank rocks, although I can't figure out which clone is the driver. Mace Windu is cool too. The Wookie Catamaran is cool too. The Wookie warrior is cool and Luminara Unduli is pretty cool too. I don't see why everyone hates the light up lightsabers. I like them. The Droid Tri-Fighter has a very intresting design and the Buzz droid is cool too. I really don't have a comment for the Vader Transformation. The ARC-170 fighter is awesome! The piolets are cool and you get a red R2 droid. The Wookie Attack is cool as well. You get two Wookie warriors, a spider droid, and an awesome assault tank. I will review the rest of the sets later.
The Shadowed One
Lol, you went to the midnight premier too? My bro and I went, but we just got action figures. I got some sets at the LEGO Brand Store because I had two $10 off $50 coupons. The tank in the Wookie Attack is one of the greatest efforts I've ever seen made by LEGO. Rather than make the tread a huge piece of rubber, they had you make one up out of 69 individual links! Sweet stuff.

GG Chase, nothing too special there. I mostly got it for the minifigs (gotta have a non-light-up Obi-Wan, ya know). Pity that the lightsaber hilts are stone gray instead of the usual chrome.

Vader Transformation, not too much there. The Anakin minifig is cool, and I like the medic droid.

Clone Scout Walker: doesn't have the great walking motion the AT-ST set had, but it's got a heck of a construction. I like the clone fig, too.

Ultimate Lightsaber Duel is awesome, IMO. They got the atmosphere of Mustafar down pretty well (the great little details like the spurting fire or the lava-orange Alpha Team ice piece add a lot of color), and I think the pads you can put Anakin and Obi-Wan on to move them around are a nice touch, even if they're not the most responsive diddies.
Victor Draven
I got GGC and DT yesterday.... didn't have MCC...
GG is awesome! So is the Wheel Bike!
Xeo
Can some body show pics of the Clone Turbo Tank Aerial Trooper? I want to see if I can make one.
Tenebrae Invictus
MMM...I'm wondering of of getting the Scout Walker. I mean its only $9.99 - $10.00.
AoiJunni
I'm planning on getting the Scout Walker. Looks intresting, and -R-, I think the clone that wears the blue is the Pilot. (at least that's what the cataloge says.)

Aoi
Hokage Otaku
MUSTAFAR? thought Obi and Anakin fought on Lok, well that ####, thought lok would fianlly get some action...

oh, and i have the grievous griefs too, the four arms look weird and battle droid legs... no.
AoiJunni
Well, I picked up the Scout Walker earlier tonight, when I did, I saw another Star Wars toy called the ATRE(I think might of ATRT...), I was wondering is the Scout Walker and the other toy supposed to be the same vehicle?

Anyways, if those of you are wondering about the Scout Walker, I'd get it. I enjoyed the building process, and even like how it looks when finished.

Aoi
Xeo
Yeah with every set I got each more expensive set is more fun than the cheaper one before it. Except it is really fun when you play with them all.

What is the Yellow Clone Trooper's name, and the green one. I couldn't read it in the catalog.

Hmm.....well, I'm not a Star Wars nut - I haven't even seen all the films, and I don't get the story. But when I saw the Clone Turbo Tank in the latest Lego Catalogue I just couldn't help but want it.

So, I hope to be here often. The three sets I want are:

Clone Turbo Tank
Darth Vader Transformation
Cone Scout Walker.

I also want these minifigs, but I can't get them, but anyway:

Darth Maul
R2-D2
Those Red Guards Of Vader People...

If I do get the Clone Turbo Tank, I'd get the ever-cool battle-droids, whom are simply great.
Bionicle Guru
Yes, the Clone Scout Walker and the AT-RT are the same thing. It is like how Lego juniorized the name for the Juggernaut into Turbo Tank. Scout Walker is much easier to say and to remember (for some, not for me) than AT-RT(All Terrain Reconaissance Transport).

Wasn't Lok that planet in the Starfighter game that was home to Nym and his pirates? Where you got the idea that was where Obi-Wan and Anakin fight, I do not know.

I refuse to call it the "turbo tank" biggrin.gif

The juggernaut is pretty cool. it has lots of good parts for MOCs. the turning design is rather lame expecially on uneven ground (the tilt to turn design). it has a definate AT-AT feel to it but it definatly could have been built better. I'm mostly using it for parts once i unpack my LEGO Bricks from my move. Its not the greatest but it isnt a complete waste of $85 (with my TRU discount! muahahaha) if you do have the money to spend, then get it but if you are looking for the best deal for your money, I'd suggest you wait on it a bit and make sure its what you want to buy. I've done a few modifications on it already because the designs arent very accurate (a few parts in wrong places and a screwed up page). overall, the set is very cool and i could care less about Mace as i didnt get the set just for him. i actually forgot it came with him when i bought it.

I would have expected that doing this would be against copyright laws, but on second thought I guess it's no different than just showing the instructions to a curious friend.

I am deffinately getting the Juggernaut and Wookie Attack...eventually...

I don't really care about Mace Windu's battery life or light-up color, it's MACE WINDU! That definately makes this a must-have for me!

And the Wookie Attack is a must have too because of the large droid that has treads(I'm calling it a "Treaded Droid" for now) and I love those thing since I saw them in the Episode II documentary "State of the Art: Previsualization of Episode II", which shows one in an early CGI shot that never even made it to the deleted scenes. And it also has a Spider Droid(I used to call that a "Small Walker Droid" or something like that.), and both of these droids are cool Clone Wars era droids I must have!

OH, i know it wouldn't be a good idea to leave that up which is why i deleted the pictures just now. piccies went by by off the net. the Treaded Droid is pretty sweet though the treads keep catching on the back discs that are put on the axle...so i ditched them! muahaha.

You have to build the tread on the Tank. The tank is called the C. A. D. (Corporate Alliance Droid)

I agree about the Juggernaut but I still call it "Turbo Tank" every once in a while since it's the set name it kinda slips out before Juggernaut. (or however you spell it) biggrin.gif

For some reason, ever since Ep.I came out I've taken a liking to Droids.I have all 3 technic droids, an AAT and am MTT.So, I guess Droid Tri-fighter would be best. Oh wait, I already ordered it tongue.gif

Ever since I saw those bizarre droid starfighters appearred in CW,
I dedicated those few hours to finding out what it was.BTW, once reading the descripton, I thought the Buzz droid was the pilot. But, upon moire inspection, specifically the "hidden inside" part, I realized it wasnt the pilot, but could be deployed to "Buzz" some clone troopers.
AoiJunni
I've always liked robots..so I'd be naturally attracted to the SW droids. happy.gif; and was all three technic droids the 1.)Pit Droid, 2.)Battle Droid 3.)Super Battle Droid?

I only have the Pit Droid built, and purchased a SBD for pieces.

Tilius, if you want the Minifigs without buying the sets, I'd have to advice hitting up Bricklink.com to get the individual minifigs. I might start doing that for mini-figs I'd like to get.

Also, a bit of advice for the Clone Scout Walker, if you have one of those grey light saber bars, or a spare light saber bar, I'd slip it in between the two 1x1 Round w/Hollow studs. It'd kind of keep them from popping off so often. (I don't have a spare light saber bar to test this, however. If someone can lemme know how it works out, it'd be greatly appreciated.)

Lego's version of the jet pack is cool, but not very accurate. If you want to see the art they used to make the movie version, it is on the EP. III 'Art of Revenge' section. Unfotunatley, I can't make one, even an un-color-quardinated on 'cause I only have one rifle from throbot scuba.
