I PMed a link to a member's sig with a link to forums in it to AdvertAlert, and noticed the link was removed from the member's sig, but I don't appear to have gotten a response.

Yes, post rewards are still given out.
AdvertAlert will not contact you when he recieves a valid report: your post count will go up, depending on where the advertisement was (post, PM, etc.).

okay, this might of been asked before, but i don't want to look through this topic.
When reporting to AdvertAlert, do we just PM em' with a link to where we found the advertising? Or is there some mystical button under each person's post to report it to AA that i haven't noticed?

Then either you didn't notice the post increase (it is only 25), or someone else reported it first/a Moderator removed it without being notified.
EDIT: … aaand if I'm not mistaken, your post count just leapt by about 25 posts.

Just want to make sure of this:
If I advertise for, say, a friend's site that doesn't have forums and isn't commercial or anything (it's a bionicle fan site), but then he decides to add forums, can the links (which would be made before the forums were added) stay up, or should I take them down, since they link to forums?
It's kinda confusing

, but there is this site I want to advertise for, and the owner of the site is thinking about putting up forums... so could I maybe just link to it for a little while, until/if the forums go up, or can the links stay, or should I not advertise at all?
-Cressona
You may only link to it as long as there aren't any forums there.

Once he decides to put them up, you will have to remove the link.

What if, say, I made a topic in COT about the Wheel of Time book series. Could I link to the official site, even though it has forums, because it is the official resource/creator of the series.

No, you still wouldn't be able to link to that site.

Not attempting to start anything here, but why is the filtered video site banned from BZP?
Honestly, it's now rather illogical. EVERY Google Video page links to it.
Plus, Google Video does NOT have a inappropriate video filter, unlike the filtered site. Comments on GV are a lot worse, and not moderated. Comments on FVS videos are moderated and can be flagged by users.
I'm not flaming, I'm just saying it's illogical now.

Mostly because BZP can't moderate it.
If you're so upset with it, you could find another forum that allows it *shrugs* I know BS01 allows it, only because we need to link to Bionicle videos. -Swert

The site in question is innappropriate and has forums.
Reason we allow Google Video is because, it is Google and they pay partial to the server. Banning our contributor doesn't make sense, now does it?
That is illogical.

I never said the admins should ban GV.
Plus, Google OWNS the banned video site, so you technically ARE banning the contributor.

No see that is where you are wrong.
Google may own it, but doesn't mean the site is Google itself. It isn't even a part of Google.
We ban the site, not Google.

Just to point out...isn't Google Video directly shown from other video hosters? They're all tagged with different sites and all; Google Video isn't a host in itself.
*shrugs* Correct me, please. Just thought I'd point it out in the midst of Omi vs. Rho.

There is also a checkbox next to or under the search bar on google video marking, "only show videos hosted on google," if you would not like to have anything to do with the filtered site otherwise.

In your signature and blog [if you become a Premier member and get one] yes. In every one of your posts, no. In mass PMs, no.

Yesterday I sent a PM to AdvertAlert linking to a member's post with advertising in it (a site with forums, nothing to do with Bionicle). When will I know that they have read it and deleted it? Do I get a PM? And how long does it take?

Since AdvertAlert is only accessed by the admins, it is just one of many things they have on their list, just not the top priority.

It will be addressed when it is addressed, and you will not get a confirmation. If your report is valid, your post count will go up accordingly.

Indeed you do. As seen in

As some of you may recall, if you need to report an advertising violation, you may day so by PMing "AdvertAlert"
Your report will be read by an admin, and if a violation is found, you will be rewarded posts for your effort. The amount of post count inflatation you will receive varies depending on the type of report.
Sig - 25 posts

PM - 75 posts
Instant Message - 100 posts

Okay, I still haven't gotten a post raise. I'm fairly certainly it was 100% advertising. It was a link to a forum that was sent via PM. Should I resend, or just wait more? It's not that important to me, but I just want to know.

Not to continue the nagging chain, but really how often is the AdvertAlert account accessed?
Not being rude, but it certainly does not take much of an administrator's valuable time to log in to the account and check for updates.

Shadow Kurahk, it takes plenty of time. There are many reports to be taken care of. Not to mention, we have lots of other stuff to do. We're working on catching up with the backlog, but it will take some time.
