We all know where the Bohrok came from, the cocoons, right? If the Bohrok came from the cocoons, then where did the Bohrok Va come from? Also, the bohrok require a Krana, the 'Va do not. Are these mysterious creatures worse than we all realize? Have you noticed that Cahdok and Cahdok were surrounded by Bohrok VA, and not Bohrok? These Va must be very important to the Bohrok swarms, and intelligent enough that the Bahrag rely on them to carry orders to the Bohrok swarms. Post your theories here.

Thy DO need krana.  The Krana reproduce by fision, or splitting in two.  They krana split in two, one for the Va, one for the kranaless bohrok/Bohrokk Va.  I think that while the Bohrok are busy destroying, the Va are in the cacoon waiting until something needs a krana.  They are all there when the toa show up (or maybe they just show the Va for the heck of it).  I think the Va also have caccons, just unseen ones.

Has anyone proven that Krana split? I think someone just made that up.
    The Krana aren't mounted like in the Bohrok. If they needed them, it seems they should be on the front, and more protected.

No the VA do need a Krana. Everyone in the swarm (excluding the Bahrag) wears a Krana. You cant have a mech squadron with all Dire Wolfs and no Firemoths. You need the VAs to scout and do menial tasks.

Maybe they are in smaller pods and maybe the Bahrag were in a room like the Exos.If the Bohrok are exos for the Krana then I would say the Bohrok Va are too.And they carry it on their backs because it might get in the way or something like that.It's not like they can put it in their head like the Bohrok can.Well the Bahrag rely on them to bring Bohrok new Krana so I guess they are pretty important to the swarms.And the Bohrok Va do need Krana.
This is how it probably is:The Bahrag are the real evil that the Toa must face.They made the Krana and they made the Bohrok and Bohrok Va for them.They were sleeping for years until the first part of the Makuta Saga was over.Then they awakened and started to spread through Mata-Nui,causing chaos everywhere.The Toa collected the Krana,got the Exos,and finally they thew the Bahrag into the Protodermis and they got sucked in as well and then changed into Toa Nuva.

Lets just say that LEGO didnt want to make tiny canisters for the vas and just leave it at that...

my 2 thearies are like this.  Once a krana is removed from a bohrok OR bohrok va, it takes a while for them to ware off and become wild animals.  That way when a bohrok va delivers a krana to a bohrok he has a short time to return to the nest and get a new one.

I think the bahrag lay the bohrok va then after a while they climb into the pods and metomorphosieze into bohrok.

those are my THEORIES and I am STICKING to them NO MATTER WHAT!

You said METAMORPHOSE. Very good point. Lego refers to the bohrok canisters as COCOONS. Cocoons are only used in metamorphosis, therefore the Bohrok must metamorphose from something. That something could be the Bohrok Va. Just a theory, mind you.
