There seem to be a lot of topics hypothesising about what the creatures are in the background of the original promotion picutre of the Hau Nuva.  I don't have a picture off hand, but someone will post one eventually anyways ;)

This is now the official topic.  Don't start a new one, all old ones will be closed.  This will allow for a better, more condensed discussion.
Infected Nuparu
first to reply here ,LOL, does n e one actually know what the bumps are, the look like reptile, snakey things...

Bryan
No, not officially.  And please, use full words to post.
jala jam
They look like the exos ,but morphed .But leah says they are other toa nuva .Wait How old is this topic???  :mirunu:  :tohu:
The toa of light Takua
I think those are the other toa nuva coming up.
driffin
no leah said they were the next enemys someone else from lego said its the other nuva
Xatoga
I f you look at them their the same, so the  can't be nuva.  Look closer and you can see something that looks like bohrok head covers.
Talyn Nuva
Ok here is a closeup pic of those things.  I think they are some sort of thing that Makuta is building in a hidden lair and infusing with protodermis.

Ryu
i say they are the exo's working in themselves
remember on the lego site they say they can move without a Toa but it has never been seen!
Ænima
I used to think they were exos, and no doubt the exos will return, but now I believe those are bohrok head covers, but the seem to have kopaka nuva shields for shoulder armor
SmittyWerbenManJenson
i heared it was conferimed by lego that they were other toa nuva.
Toa Onewa
yes The exo are a good though they resemble the exo's eyes
But they aren't bohrok or defently bahrag eyes maybe all the toa have that color before hans.
Not to sound arrogant but everytime BZ seems to find something they call up lego and ask like the supert oa story
Well just ask them about those bumps. Seems logical :tohu:
Wind-Rider
Maby they ARE the the Bahrag? ???
Bahrag=Bohrok, Bahrag with Bohrok heads= Common Sense.
Just out 8 and 7 together. ;)

P.S Bryan, why do I always find you making these kinds of threads? ;)
Toa of Darkness
I think they are the Bahrag just modified because of the protodermis. :haunu:  :akakunu:  :mirunu:  :tohu:
SpongeEater
I think it could be a combo of Bohrok and Bahrag maybe some fused being. :dunno:
Kaivo
I think they are cobra-like creatures because the headlike part's curved front down, and theback part seems like the hood. The rest would be in the protodermis.

Bohrok Nuva,hmmm evilgrin:

They are the Toa Nuva.I am tired of these EDITED BY ME topics about the same thing over and over.If Leah says Toa Nuva, it is Toa Nuva.

Alex Corvis
Oh, This is just Great  :sarcasm:  First Leah said they are new villians then she says Nuva, THEN Lego says its villians then says Nuva.

ANY MORE CONFUSION LEGO WANTS TO GIVE US?!

Sorry, But I am gettin' mad with this confusion
Aki
Some possibilities: 1.New enemies. 2.Exo-Nuva 3.Bahrag Nuva? 5.Rahi Nuva 4.Other.

Leah only said new enemies, never Toa Nuva.
Squee393
they r the bahrag,on Comic 7 the bahrg said that bringing them together makes them powerfull so they r the bahrag.the nuva threw some protodermis that they think that the prodermiss will be powerfull enough to deafet them both but the bahrag just stink those protodermiss nd turned to that picture
GaliGee
Leah says "new enemies," and there are more than two, so they can't be the Bahrag (or recycled Bahrag) . My guess is they are Makuta's new minions. Maybe he set up the Bohrok and Bahrag as a trap for the Toa, who would unwittingly unleash his newest foul creatures.
:kaukau:
<NeVerMoRe>
well im positive its bohrok nuva because when the toa fell into the protodermis it flooded the bohrok nest and what turned the toa into toa nuva was protodermis combined with thier elamental powers.THe bohrok have elamental powers to.
And leah said the new enimies are nothing weve ever seen before weve never seen bohrok nuva.
Laki
First, it couldn't be Makuta's new minions because I read some secret (ok it's not secret or it wouldn't be online) interesting stuff that comfired it. Not the Bahrag either. But I wonder, BOHROK! evilgrin:

I think that those things are toa nuva.  If you look carefuly you will see that they look like masks.
Ninjo
In my opinion...  ;)

LEGO has always managed to come up with new and creative ideas.  I find it unlikely they'll just Nuva-zize the Bohrok or Bahrag.  I have a feeling one more completely different foe will battle the Nuva before Makuta returns.  And even if they do bring back old enemies in Nuva form,  they probably won't call them "Bohrok Nuva".  They'll probably create a somewhat new name.  :satisfied:

horns eh?  two of theses guys in the pic, eh?  Muaka and kane-ra, eh?  signaling the return of a new wave of rahi, eh?
The Green Rabbit
After Makuta was defeated all the rahi were free and helped the Matoran defend against the Bohrok so it can't be Muaka and Kane-ra.  I think those are just other Toa Nuva. If you look carefully you will see that they look similar to the Kanohi Hau Nuva :haunu:  in the front of the picture.

I "stumbled" upon some interesting stuff while visiting the first version of the Australian bionicle website (www.bionicle.com.au) before they put in the redirection device so it now goes back to the normal Bionicle page. Apparently, 100+ people stumbled upon the big-should-not-have-been-released-secret and they were all tracked down via ISP. I was one of them, we were contacted by the Lego Australia company and we all swore to secrecy on the subject.

I know it sounds far fetched but it was on the 14th of July at exactly 8:19:51PM that I opened the webpage, at that time it had been open for 20 minutes. I got contacted within the week by Lego Australia and swore to secrecy on the subject. So, I think they may use www.bionicle.com.au to create the updates before actually releasing them.

Yes, I have pictures from the site, but as I have said many times above I cannot release the information. What can I say, Lego is playing with your minds  :sly:

If two lego representatives got calls from Bionicle fans from accross the world asking what the bumps were do you think they would go and spoil the big secret? Ofcourse not  evilgrin:

All I can say is that what is going to happen is going to be VERY COOL

Lucky. :sarcasm:
*envy*

Okay, my so-far-fetched-it-might-actually-work theory.

They're the Exo-Toa suits.

Basis:
  • The Toa were not in their Exo's when they defeated the Bahrag. They had shed them to focus their elemental powers, so that they could create the necessary cage to imprison them.
Reference: Exo-Toa instructions, Comic #7, Comic #8 script
  • Rumor has it that the Exo-Toa can actually function on its own, without a pilot.
    Reference: Bionicle.com website
    • Sub-let: Now awoken, yet not part of the defeat of the Bahrag, the Exo's take offense to the sleight of their power, and the Toa [Nuva] guilty of the sleight.
Reference: mental continuation: for it to function on its own, without a pilot, it must be sentient
  • There are more than 2
    Reference: someone said that earlier
  • It has orange eyes.
Reference: the picture, the eyes have more yellow than Tahu Nuva's eyes in the foreground

Yeah, it is far fetched, but it seems to fit a lot of the evidence.

Before I saw the website I thought they were the Bahrag. I mean, the toa DID encase them in a shield of protodermis and when the Toa Nuva arose the Bahrag were gone, besides, I've only ever seen two bumps in the background. *Shrug* Still, Im not hinting at anything, just speakin what I thought

That does make sense but look at the top of them.  The top of the Exo-Toa is rounded but on these they are not.  I think they look like masks, particularily the :kaukaunu: and :kakamanu: .  But maybe they got changed from the protodermis...
OnuaNut
They look like bohrok with their "hands" right next to their heads.

This sort of gives me a little hint that those are not other Toa Nuva.  I've changed my opinion and I now think that they are new enemies.  Xavier_Dyet says that he isn't giving any hints so I'm not absoloutly positive.
Gailsad Wizard of Waters
I think they are the Exo-Raptors. They have a Bohrok plate, Bohrok eyes, and...

??

I'm actually not sure.

when i see something screech across the floor, and latch onto the guy next to me's neck, i have to laugh, cause what is that thing?

Deep thoughts, by Jack Handy

sorry, i had to do that. i think since Mata Nui gave the Toa new powers, he didn't destroy the bahrag, he punished them. he new the bahrag's thirst for power was overwhelming, so he turned them into what they once were, Bohrok. the first bohrok, bound by Mata Nui at the end of the Before Time.
Shaman Turbo Pheonix
They are bohrok nuva! But I think they should be called megalo
bohrok{dont ask why}And Iluv tacoes, dont spam by saying please over and over again.

Lhii the Surfer
Well, as I said in another topic, I think they are the Manas, new and improved. But, I was looking at my comics and I found something very intresting. If you look at "THE BOHROK SAGA" part ___ of 6, the newest one being 5, leaving one last comic in the Bohrok Saga. Making you wonder, if the Toa defeated the Bohrok and Bahrog(sp?), why is there still a comic left in the saga?? And, in one of the pages in comic 5, the Toa Nuva incounterd a swarm of Tahnok and trap them in the cave. But wait, isn't there Protodermis in the cave?? Whats goign to happen to the Tahnok? Think about that one.
Ell
This is pathetic! :nervous:

In 2001 could we have guessed about Bohrok?
NO!

We cant sepculate what they are and be right.

They are new evil, the likes of which we've never seen before.

Lets just wait and see and not be greedy.

    Sephiroth spoke...
Gailsad Wizard of Waters
I think they are actually picking up ideas from this website (in other words, they haven't decided) and that's why you can only see the tip of their heads. They are looking at THIS VERY TOPIC and taking our ideas to LEGO!
Zokara
Lego is too professional for that, so I doubt it, but just in case they are...Evil mutant creatures from the underwold with horns and a ball and chain and a firing mini-rocket and detatchable leg boosters and mega bite action with real fabric bat-wings and seventeen action-phrases!   Haahahehe...just kidding. But really, Ell is right.  Who could have imagined the Bohrok a year ago?  Lego has already decided on the new baddie, and it will be awesome.  It is beyond the comprehension of mere motals to speculate these matters.  Why try?  When I first saw the Bohrok, I was amazed. The design is superb.  Why should all that change?  The next chapter is going to be big.  Very big. Oh, and MAKUTA IS STILL IN TE STORY!  He will always be.

For the past week I have been FLOODED with messages about www.bionicle.com.au and what is on the site. Pure and simple, I cant tell you!

Think of it like this, it WILL be cool, it IS a suprise and if I told you that would ruin it. People have even threatened to FLAME if I didnt tell! Well, unfortunate enough for you flamers, you have all been reported to BZPower.

Now, if I told you yes, you would be happy. But for how long? Hm? The whole idea of Bionicle is that you get "sucked into" the environment and surroundings. You are actually there. You become one of their people. Not a toa, not a turaga, a matoran. Do you think any matoran at all would know what is going to happen? No. Also, after thinking about it, imagine just how much IS being hidden from us! If the Turaga knew about the Bohrok, did they know about the Bahrag? If you have the number 7 comic (I think thats it) they actually hint at the matoran living under Mata-Nui? Possible? Is that how they know what is to come?

Again, the toa know about as much as we do. They dont know what lurks beneath. But did you ever think that everybody on Mata-Nui knows what is going to happen? Even the Matoran? Are we all like Takua, have we all lost our memories? Or is it just that the turaga dont want any villagers running away screaming because they know what is to come?

The few people that witnesed the few minutes of Bionicle.com.AU had seen much. Too much, if you ask me. Almost like the "select few" to keep the secrets of Mata-Nui. We are like the turaga, we dont want riots about what is to come. Why? To tell you the truth, the day I was looking at the site my neighbours little girl saw the many pictures of what is to come... she ran away screaming and crying. How old is she? Three. What is coming is enough to send a shivver up any mature kids spine. It did to me.

People have also been asking what we witnessed. Everything to come, let me tell you that. What lego does is build the new bionicle sites and transfer them to the index folder (aka: www.lego.com/bionicle) so we do not know what updates are happening. That day, the "bionicle online" team were testing out their Australian servers. With the website of the future. They never thought to put in a website transfer so that www.bionicle.com.au became www.bionicle.com and so they hid what is to come, so, me and many other Aussie kids that were quite bored, happened to stumble upon the thing that would change the way we saw bionicle FOREVER.

Finally, I do not mind the messages, ask me any questions you like, but I cannot tell you about what is coming. I am very sorry. But, after seeing what was there, its quite obvious that there is something more to what we know as Bionicle. Enough to send a shivver up my spine as I type this very message. Again, I apologise, but I swore to secrecy and I am not letting lego.com down.

The Power Lies Beneath.
